Review: Creamsilk Standout Straight Leave-On Cream

When it comes to hair products The first name that comes into my mind is none other than Creamsilk. Although I don't use it as my hair conditioner now I still have no doubts that its a no-brainer choice for conditioner. Its widely available and it fits every girl's budget. Similar to its conditioner counterpart, of course Creamsilk Standout Straight Leave on cream is also easy to find in the beauty sections of drugstores. Given that I have blonde hair now, it will be quite a feat to find a product that will tame my waves and unruly strands. So how did Creamsilk fared?

Creamsilk Standout Straight Leave-On Cream
What is it?
Cream Silk Standout Straight is infused with positively charged ingredients that help reduce the extra negative charge brought about by damaged hair so that you get the striking, standout straight hair you’ve always wanted.

Packaging
Travel friendly plastic squeeze bottle. Just twist to open. No fuss no mess. At first I was thinking that the cap is detachable lol. Silly me~

Experience
My hair routine nowadays is to wash condition dry and use Creamsilk Standout Straight Leave-On Cream. It keeps my hair smelling nice and less frizzy. Tangles are gone and my hair is easier to manage when I put on leave on. Its also great as hair polish as my hair look slightly more shiny when I use it.

I usually use it after my hair has dried. I only 2-3 pea size amount (my hair so long!) It keeps my hair manageable that way. Smells fresh too and not heavy! There is no oily feel to it and the formula is watery.

How much and where to buy?
P49/bottle (40ml)

What I love
  • Smells like candy (similar to the conditioner)
  • Keeps hair manageable
  • Makes hair less frizzy
  • Travel friendly
  • Trusted hair brand
  • Affordable
What I don't
  • Nothing I can mention

Will I repurchase?
Yes!

Overall~
Thumbs up for Creamsilk Standout Straight Leave-On Cream. A product that doesn't fail us gals on the budget. You got to have 2-3 bottles of this as this will not last long on you (the scent is very feminine and addictive!) I really like Creamsilk and I will always be a fan of this brand.

Must buy to give new life to your hair! (Especially for blondies!)

A few selcas to end this post.

My BER month Wishlist!

Hello pretty ladies! Hello September! I was watching tv this morning and they were playing Christmas songs already. I felt all happy and giddy, there is something really special in this Ber months and I am really loving it.

I thought of sharing my Ber months wish list. This is something I found at Lazada for crazy prices. There is just so much going on during Ber months, it includes: my birth date, many holidays and of course Christmas!

The first item in my wishlist this coming 'Ber' month is a mixer. I started learning how to bake last year and I really like it. I am fond of trying new recipes of cookies, brownies and cakes. However unlike other recipes, a mixer is mandatory in making cakes. Its a struggle to use a hand mixer in making frosting and meringues for roll cakes. I really want a stand mixer.

Well I want to give my mom something this holidays, she has been using her old phone for too long. It crashes whenever she plays android games. Imagine she is only playing with My Boo. Her phone is my old phone and it would be awesome to exchange it for something new. It even comes with a powerbank! How cool is that? Too bad its for a limited time only.

My brother is in Grade 12 now and he needs a portable computer in his studies. This is something I am looking forward to buy one of this day. I like how its easy to lug around and it keeps all files because the memory is big. Its a tough guy in a small package.

We've been using my tita's tv for a while now. I am yet to buy our own, I scoured Lazada shop and I found Toshiba Led TV. 32 inches is just the right screen size and I know it will be thrilling to watch when we have this. HD shows and everything! I've got a bunch of movies yes!~

Let it go~ Let it go~ Can't hold it back anymore~
So coolness = refrigerator

A big refrigerator to replace our old one will be a great idea. With the holidays coming we would be cooking and keeping food and this is a must. I have been listing this in our family's buy list and I am really hoping to get one soon before Christmas. Okay if not, before the holidays.

That is about it! Before I end this post do you know that you may get cashback with your every purchase online? Super cool!

Review: Beauty Bakery Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist

The key in looking fresh all day is of course not with just makeup. To look good we also need to feel good. What can be the answer to achieve moisturized skin and makeup that stays the whole day?

*Drum roll* ~ Facial Mist!!!

The Beauty Bakery Witch Hazel Facial Mist
What is it?
All the good stuff in a sweet-smelling bottle that refreshes and clarifies, Beauty Bakery’s Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist is specially made to keep you feeling crisp and clean all day. Each delicious bottle contains an unbeatable blend of Witch Hazel Water and Tea Tree Extract to fight off inflammation and bad bacteria, and is infused with a bright, clean citrus scent to keep you smelling fresh no matter the occasion.

Net weight: 150 ml

Ingredients: Water, Witch Hazel extract, Tea Tree extract, Lemon extract.
Instructions: Mist onto face within an arm’s length to freshen up your skin. Product can be refrigerated to heighten cooling sensation.

I love witch hazel for my pores, ever since I have tried Dickinson's toner. Tea tree extract on the other hand is the perfect buddy in getting rid of acne. Lastly, lemon extract, can whiten and brighten the skin.

Packaging
The mist is inside a glass bottle with spray type pump. Its simply labeled with the Beauty Bakery sticker. The pump is working perfectly, but its kinda heavy and I cannot bring it with me when I go out so I bought a mini plastic bottle with spray pump as well so I can have a travel friendly version of it.

Experience
Beauty Bakery Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist is my very first facial mist. The reason I bought it was to refresh my face. I use this before and after my makeup. Using it before makeup application makes its easier to spread the products especially liquid foundation or bb cream. Using it while on the go makes makeup fresh and reapplication easier. It smells like very very faint lemon, which I really like. It makes the morning smell like morning! (if you get what I mean).

I also tried a method wherein I spray mist onto my sponge with liquid foundation. It makes makeup more flawless looking and long lasting. Its confirmed as I tried it now without the mist and the makeup is quite draggy on my skin.

How much and where to buy?
Php 265 for 150ml bottle

What I love
  • Refreshes skin
  • Preps skin for makeup
  • Hydrates skin
  • Makes makeup last and more natural looking
  • Affordable
  • Paraben-free
  • All natural
  • Locally made!
  • Smells like lemon (I love citrus!)
  • Has witch hazel for the pores and acne fighting ingredients
  • Working spray mist pump!
What I don't

  • I can only buy it online

TIPS
1. Shake the bottle.
2. Hold it 5 to 10 inches away from your face (consult packaging for specifics).
3. Spritz the product liberally in an X formation.
4. Let the product set for a minute. Blot all excess.
5. Repeat whenever you feel like it—all day, every day, perhaps?

Will I repurchase?
Worth another purchase! But I also want to try Etude House or Nature Republic Mist, are they good? hmm~

Overall~
Beauty Bakery Clarifying Witch Hazel Facial Mist is an affordable mist for everyone. With its acne fighting and minimizing pore ingredient, what's not to love?

The saddest gif I've seen so far. Huhu~

My First #FOTD: Everyday Office Makeup

My First #FOTD: Everyday Office Makeup

I was very enthusiastic on doing my everyday makeup for office and I've been wanting to share this with you. As you all know, FOTD means Face of the Day but basically this look is my everyday face. Haha. Its easy and can be done in 5 minutes or so (if you are really in a hurry, skipping the liner and mascara maybe)

I choose a natural look for everyday, a look that will make you look fresh and blooming. Here's a breakdown of what I used:

BASE
I started with my new VCO for moisturized skin! I've just bought it yesterday and I am thrilled into what more I can use it for. Then I used iWhite as my makeup base and sunblock. I used Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence with BB SPF 50 PA+++ after to even out my skin tone. For my under eyes and to cover up a few dark & red spots left by my last skin breakout I used Tonymoly Facemix concealer. I then tap powder foundation for a natural finish and to cover up pores.

CHEEKS
I wanted a natural blush for everyday so I used peach colors. For the cheeks I used ETUDE HOUSE Water color Blusher in No. 3 Baby Apricot I just lightly tap this on the apples of my cheeks (do not blend!). The peachy color makes me look blooming and healthy.

EYES
The look is all about being natural so I kept my eyes subtle as possible. I used light brown shade from my Avon palette for my eye. Then the sparkly shade for the inner corners of my eye. I also used the sparkly shade to lightly highlight my nose line. I used TONYMOLY Backgel Eyeliner in Black for my upper liner and partly on my lower lash line.and 2 coats of Maybelline Hypercurl Volum' Express Mascara to open up my eyes, this time I didn't used curler. For my brows I filled it with Fashion21 Duo Eye Enhancer in Light Brown.

LIPS
The lipstick I use almost everyday now is Fashion21 Peach Perfect Lipstick in Apricot. It looks natural and compliments my cheek color. I apply Vaseline lip therapy balm first to add moisture to my lips and to avoid chappy lips. I apply the lipstick by soft tap tap action I don't swipe it on my lips because I want to slowly build the color. It looks more natural that way, nothing over the top.

The mix of my face base and foundation melts into a nice natural face makeup. No cakey face even after the sweat and heat. This is important for me because my everyday commute can easily melt any makeup. So that sums my everyday makeup for office!

I love reading comments from you guys and I am happy that many of you are enjoying my posts. Feel free to comment and/or like my page for timely updates. More photos for this Makeup of the day!

How to Dye Brown Hair Blonde at Home Part 2

Beautiful day ladies and gentlemen! Here is our Part 2 of my How to Dye Brown Hair Blonde at Home post series.

My friend bought a big tub of bleaching powder and a big bottle of 9% Volume Oxidizing Lotion. Awesome! Our ratio is 2:1 for the Bleach: Oxidizing Lotion. Wait for the mix to become very light blue and bubbly. For the hair to be processed it needs to be fully saturated with the bleach. I waited for 30 minutes. My friends keeps on asking if my scalp hurts? At first it doesn't but after a while I felt that the bleach stings already.

Imagine my dismay when I washed off the bleach after 30 minutes and I found out that there are parts wherein the roots were missed. One thing to expect when going blonde at home is that there will be hair fall. My hair strands were literally on the floor. Quite scary, really. No wonder why bleaching is only recommended to be done every 3 months. We had to redo the roots part the next morning.

We came up with uneven bleached hair. Like really, some parts are almost Jack Frost hair platinum blonde but some are just in between the level 6 or 7. Yikes, I cannot come to office looking like a disaster. I've let my hair dry before proceeding with the hair dyeing process.

The Coloring Process

Instead of using a lot of blonde hair dyes I thought of using Pixxel Light Ash Blonde to dye my hair. I was a bit scared of transforming my bleached hair into dark gray. The picture can be deceiving...

In case of confusion, there is a hair level system when bleaching. Let's say my goal is to only lighten my hair to the point that the hair dye will be true to its color when I use it. My hair level goal is Level 7-8.
Photo not mine, credits
We proceeded with the process and used 9% volume oxidizing lotion instead of the 12% volume provided in Pixxel. I really don't want to fry my hair too much. I know its been through a lot and there was no waiting time prior to dyeing which is the usual recommendation. No matter how careful you are the end result will still depend on the healthy state of your hair before you bleached. It will still be damaged and all so it is mandatory to condition and moisturize hair like there is no tomorrow after the bleaching and coloring process.

Okay so back to the coloring process. I waited for 30 minutes yet again and dried my hair. I was not so pleased with the color. From the mix of golden and very light blonde color it only darkened a little. However the color of my hair is still golden! I was expecting that at least it will be less of gold. The only good thing is that the color became more even. It served like a toner for the bleached hair but I was not satisfied with the outcome of the light blonde shade. I was really expecting something more ashy. Maybe grayish blonde ashy like Angel Locsin.

The long awaited going blonde at home before and after picture. Mianhe (sorry), the left one is taken with outdoor light while the right side is taken indoors.

Here is my friend who did my hair (blunders?!) haha. Look how red his hair is, he often bleach and dye it with different colors. Once he had a Jack Frost dyed hair and it looks amazing.

FINAL LOOK:

So on my way home I dropped by Trinoma to grab a box of Palty. This is my last resort. Whatever result after is the final look I have for the office tomorrow. I was scared and thinking what will happen next. Anyway that is a Palty hair dye review coming up next. But here is my final look:
YES! This is my dream shade, the indoor light don't do justice to the color.
Lemme share the newest kdrama I am watching right now, Lee Jong Suk is such a cutie.

How to Dye Brown Hair Blonde at Home Part 1

Going blonde is something I thought I would never do! But what they say is true, people change. Originally I would be contented with lifting my hair color by a shade or two with just using blonde hair colors. Without the bleach any blonde shade will only result into brown. I've been a brown head all my life since the 2013 (?) I know most of the gals here are scared to try something new and I know the feeling.

In the Philippines bright hair colors can be an issue. First we are bound by the rules of the school and then the rules of your work place after, its never ending rules really. Hair color says so much about yourself. When a girl's life changes or if there is something that really triggers our emotion, the hair can be our best bet to showcase those feelings. Its like shouting out to the world what you really feel and all. Hair color can boost our confidence and see everything in a different light. Hair is not just a crowning glory, its the best way to express ourselves. <3

Okay so for today it will not be an ordinary review product post, I'd be sharing how to dye brown hair blonde at home with you guys. Yes I was so scared that people at home and at work may not accept this color but alas, when will I do this? When I am 40 yrs old already? Sabi nga sa kanta (Just like what the song says) '...and live while we're young!'

First and foremost, this is what you need to make it possible:
  • Bleaching Powder
  • Oxidizing Lotion
  • Hair Color Cream
  • Hair Spa and/or Hair Conditioner (lots of them!)
  • Hair leave on, VCO, sunflower hair oils etc (choose one that can tame your tresses & buy it)
  • Patience (you'll need several process done)
  • Will to live (to endure the pain)
  • Friends (to help you in every step of the way!)

Do not believe sales staff especially if they didn't try bleaching their hair yet! Lol. So okay I don't generalize but most of them doesn't know what tips to give to their clients. The best teacher in life is experience. That is why I seek the help of my loving friends on this. Bleaching hair is their life (okay I was exaggerating right there).

I bought my stuff at Trinoma Landmark. They have vast selection of bleaching powder, oxidizing lotion & conditioner.

Rading Landmark Trinoma for the right products, buying more oxidizing lotion
Bagay ba to sakin? (Does this suit me?)
Choosing between Pixxel's ashy hair color shades

First Try

At my friend's house: Chilling out before coloring my hair. Taray may moral support ang mga lola mo! (Trans: My friends offer moral support!)
She thinks the products bought were not enough, was she correct about this?
My hair before bleaching
My black roots are very visible and it hasn't been long since I've colored my hair with Palty, remember this post? My hair is very brassy with all of the coloring I've done and I will soon be welcoming more brass after bleaching.

Here we go with the process. My friend mixed the bleaching powder and oxidizing lotion. I used 9% volume instead of 12%. A quick hair history: I always color my hair with Hortaleza Blonde color dyes and then 'Red' but it was not allowed at my work before and I ended up coloring it black a day after. I had a hard time in changing it to brown so I bleached it. Before I didn't know how to dye brown hair blonde at home properly so the end result is patchy colors and I ended up with brittle dry hair.

I believe the lower part of my hair is still part of this hair history (lol). I can't say that my hair is better now, that is why I am trying to bleach it because I think there is nothing to lose already!

TIP: Chop off an inch or two from your hair ends to get rid of dry hair splits.
Sectioning & bleach application
Waiting

TADAAAH~ Processed bleached hair!
Was it a success? Okay so this was titled Part 1 for a reason. My good friend Hammie is right, 1 bleaching powder sachet and 2 small oxidizing lotion bottles are not enough. I should not have listened to the sales staff and just proceeded with buying what I think is enough for my thick hair.

I would need to continue how to dye brown hair blonde at home post next time. Yay. I actually moved to another friend's house, and he has a big bottle of oxidizing lotion and a big tub of bleaching powder!

For now here is an ending photo for this post, me and Joy while we were shopping for the hair products.
