Review: Silkygirl Magic BB Cushion SPF 50/PA+++

A matte BB cream is a rare find especially on cushions! That is why I often reach out for my foundations more when its hot and humid because I don't want to be a grease ball at the end of the day. But gone are the days of dissatisfaction with BB creams when I started using Silkygirl Magic BB Cushion SPF 50/PA+++.

Silkygirl Magic BB Cushion SPF 50/PA+++

What is it?
This BB Cushion is enriched with beneficial key ingredients like Skin Light Complex, Eldelweiss Extract and it is rich in mineral water to keep skin looking fresh and youthful to make you stand out. Dap on this BB Cushion and tap-tap on skin for medium to high coverage. Available in 2 shades; 01 Natural Light, and 02 Natural Medium.

• 12-hour Oil-Control
• Fragrance-free
• SPF50/PA+++
• Formulated for Asian Skin

Packaging
Their white plastic compact reminds me of the old Clean and clear powder I have before, it's pretty basic but clean looking. On top it has the Silkygirl logo which faded after a while.

Experience
Beauty is only skin deep! What matters is the inside, which also goes with this Silkygirl Magic BB Cushion SPF 50/PA+++. The cushion is made out of soft foam which has the 15g of product. It doesn't leak nor dry out and so far I have been using mine for a month now.

The 2 shades lean more on yellow undertone which is great because often than not most of the korean BB creams are greyish or has a pink undertone. The 2 shades is still insufficient because if you are pretty fair like me you might find this a bit dark. For normal skinned gals you may use it as is. It is a true matte and won't make you oil up. For finishing touches I like to top it off with a bit of powder for a more flawless finish.

Sometimes though if the skin is too dry (which is what my skin usually is when I use my acne cream) it can make the pores look bigger so make sue to moisturize. I also find that the coverage on red marks is pretty good but it doesn't last long. It fades on me and at the end of the day it seems I didn't put anything on my face at all. What I like to do to solve this is to layer it on sunblock. Using sunblock underneath it actually helps it stay longer as it adheres better to the skin. I use Celeteque sunblock cream. You may also opt to use a liquid foundation or BB cream if you're not a fan of sunblock.

How much and where to buy?
P675 available in Lazada, BeautyMNL and Silkygirl kiosks nationwide.

What I love
  • SPF 50 PA+++
  • Brightens and hydrates
  • Oil Control
  • Long wearing
  • Fragrance-free
  • Formulated for Asian skin
What I don't
  • None so far

Will I repurchase?
YES! Hopefully there can be a lighter shade in the future.

Overall~
Silkygirl Magic BB Cushion SPF 50/PA+++ is an awesome find and it does stand out among the BB cushions available today as the matte effect is perfect for the Philippine weather and the shades are perfect for Filipinas. Price wise this is also budget friendly, it doesn't break the bank and it doesn't dry easily.

And that's today's review. What's your favorite BB cushion right now?

Review: Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream

I personally don't go for matte lipsticks before because I like lip tints better. The Korean beauty trend of naturally tinted lips have gotten into me, big time. However when more brands released their own matte lip lines I got curious. What is so good with matte lipsticks that they're all into it? All of my  answers were answered when Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream arrived on our doorsteps.

What is it?

Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream
This kissproof and transfer resistant lipcolor applies like a liquid lipstick that dries to a matte finish. It stays on your lips through day and night activities requiring minimal touch-ups.

Lightweight
Fragrance-free
Carmine-free
Paraben-free and
Not tested on animals

Packaging
Tadaaa~ Like any other liquid lipstick, Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream is in a clear plastic tube with sponge tip doe foot applicator. Its not flimsy and takes the right amount of product for a tinted natural lips look but if you're going for the full lips you will need to apply more.

Shades 1, 2 and 3 is actually a bit similar when you look at it so I need to double check the bottom part where they have the shade number and shade printed. The ingredient list is on the plastic cover of the lip cream.

Experience
Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream is very smooth to apply. In terms of texture think of velvet matte and its very comfortable to wear. When applied heavily it stays the whole day. The darker the shade you use, the more long lasting it is. Its highly pigmented because it can cover my lips with just one swipe. The color is opaque but I don't recommend layering it much because it will crack and it will already feel heavy. I ate and drink and the color is still there with very minimal fading. This one is kissproof and transfer resistant and indeed very matte! Its fragrance free, light weight and non-sticky. If my lips is not properly moisturized sometimes the lip cream accentuate lip lines.

Matte looks bring out the corporate girl in me. Amazingly it lasts 6 hours on me. Its very creamy but dries into matte with the sufficient time for you to blend it in and make the application even.

01 Retro
Orangey nude shade, I'd like it more if its more brown but I like how fresh it makes me look. It doesn't make me look warm too even though it has an orange undertone.

02 Glamour
Creamy rose pink. A pink undertone nude shade which looks rosey pink in the tube but peachy pink when applied.

03 Rebel
Barbie pink shade that has a lot of purple undertone. It lasts long and its very nice especially when dabbed on the lips.

04 Vintage
Its like an old deep rose shade with a lot of brown.

05 Vixen
A red shade which leans more on red orange. I like how bright it looks on my lips and in the tube.

At first its shiny when applied but its pure matte when left after a minute or two. I like using my fingers to dab it on. I like it natural looking, but sometimes it just depends on my mood.

And then, here’s how it looks when I wear it. Among 5 shades my favorite would be Vixen.

Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream in Rebel

Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream in Retro

Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream in Vixen

There is supposedly 5 photos for each shade, sadly I accidentally deleted the other two. :(
(I will try to update this post with the missing shades when I can.)

How much and where to buy?
P299

What I love
  • Pigmented
  • The applicator is not flimsy (I like using fingers for the 'tinted' look though)
  • Affordable
  • Long-lasting
  • Doesn't budge when set
  • Doesn't make lips dry nor peel
  • Wearable colors
  • Comfortable and light
  • Non-sticky
  • If not layered too much, it doesn’t crack
What I don't
  • May accentuate lip lines
Will I repurchase?
I really like Vixen and Rebel. If you need a nude shade you may choose one from Glamour, Retro and Vintage. They have very minimal color difference in actual.

Overall~
With so many brands joining the bandwagon of matte lipsticks I can say Silky Girl did a pretty good job with their Matte Junkie Lip Creams. It doesn't dry my lips despite being matte and all shades look flattering on me. The color looks opaque even without layering. Its smooth and creamy and definitely unscented. It may settle on the lip line but it still depends on how you apply it.

Removing it is also not an issue, just soap and water and you're good. You bet this is a good choice, if you're in for a matte long lasting color then try Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream.

Review: Silky Girl Magic BB All-In-One Powder Foundation

Hello November! I had the writer's block lately its like I want to write but I don't have creativity to do it. I know other bloggers feel the same every now and then, especially when there are a lot of things happening at work than in real life! Lately I feel like I don't have the work-life balance anymore. Well maybe its just me adjusting with my new environment, I am yet to find out. Anyway gals so I am drifting away from our review for the day, I know I owe you a lot of beauty reviews already, so sorry! Not very long ago, Silky Girl is very kind to send me a package which includes Silky Girl Magic BB All-In-One Powder Foundation in all four shades.

What is it?

Silky Girl Magic BB All-In-One Powder Foundation

SPF 35/PA+++
6 Nos Formula: No Oil, No Shine, No Fragrance, No Paraben, No touch-ups
Formulated for Asian skin

Packaging
I am in love with their baby pink plastic compact powder. It easily closes and with a click, it locks for safety. I really like how nice and girly it is, its something I can proudly use because its definitely my color!

Experience
Silky Girl Magic BB All-In-One Powder is actually the 2nd powder foundation I've tried from Silky Girl. The first one is __. This powder is unscented and doesn't have shimmers. Its not powdery and there is minimal fall outs even when I've used brush for the application, I prefer the sponge it comes with though. Its very useable, unflimsy and doesn't smell! Its also very smooth to apply and it doesn't accentuate pores at all, it gives light to medium coverage. It also brightens up my skin tone and it gives an effortless natural flawless look. The end result is matte but not flat and can keep the oil at bay for 2-3 hours. I've used this as a finishing powder as well where I've used it on top of my bb cream because its very light on the face. I still use concealer if I have dark marks I want to cover.

How much and where to buy?
available at Silky Girl kiosks at the leading department stores and beauty supplies shops such as W

What I love
  • Matte but radiant finish
  • Long lasting
  • Doesn't accentuate pores

  • Matte but not flat
  • Very smooth to apply

  • Perfect for natural flawless look
  • Can be a finishing powder
  • Light on the face

What I don't
  • Average staying power

Review: Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor

"Lipstick can't solve all problems, but its a pretty great start"

Yes indeed! This is the reason why a girl can't have too many lipsticks, can she? It doesn't how bad the day was, a good lipstick can definitely save a part of the day. A few weeks back I've received a set of goodies courtesy of Silky Girl Philippines. A sneak peak was shown earlier here. Does Silky and matte go well together? Let us find out with our review of Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor!

What is it?
Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor
This matte Lipcolor is formulated with Shea Butter, Safflower oil and Papaya extract to moisturize, nourish and smoothen lips. With its long-lasting light texture, you can now go about your day comfortably, and confidently.

Go Matte Lipcolor is available in six shades and 4 bold, new shades – 07 Daring Pink, 09 Loud Fuchsia, 08 Foxy Red and 10 Spicy Marsala

Glides easily
Long-lasting
No Fragrance
No carmine and free from animal testing.
Net wt: 4g

Packaging
I really like the transparent middle of Silky Girl's lipstick tube. I can immediately see the shade of the lipstick without looking at the bottom. The bottom of the lipstick tube actually bears the shade number and shade name. I think the names are well thought of.

Due to my careless I lost the cap of Shade 10 Spicy Marsala and it even was my favorite color from the bunch. :(

Experience
There are 10 shades in total and they sent me their newest shades! Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor is my very first lip product from Silky Girl. I remember doing swatches on my hands when I was at their Landmark kiosk a few months back.

Silky Girl Go Matte is a non-drying lipstick and I can sing praises for its consistency. For me its like putting on butter because it glides on easily unless you have severe chapped lips. For that, you can always wear lip balm underneath so it will not be a problem. I tested this applied on dabbing motion (to make it look like tint) and if applied heavily. When dabbed, the product only lasts for one hour (or less!) because I have a bad habit of biting my lips. However when I heavily applied it on it lasted 3 hours! I do not mind reapplication because its like adding moisture to my lips once again, thank you shea butter, safflower oil and papaya extract!

All shades leave some sheen which makes my lips look hydrated! You see, its not so matte as the name suggest but I can blot off the sheen to make it matte! 2-in-1 product teehee. In case you are wondering yes I do use it on my cheeks as well. I am fond of using lip products on cheeks to make it match.

Kudos also for not adding carmine and not testing this lipstick on animals, thank you! thank you!

First time to do swatch fest (yes I know its messy huhu..)

Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor in Daring Pink

07 Daring Pink - Reddish pink
For me is not as daring pink as it says. This shade has more red in it than pink. The shade instantly brightens up my complexion! Its sort of hot pink with a mix of red. Its just the right kind of bright color which can make you feel young.

Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor in Foxy Red

08 Foxy Red - Warm orange red
This red is a mix of orange and red. Its like a warm orange which can be mistaken for nude but I like it. This is a great everyday color in replacement to red or the usual nude shades. Orange depicts youthfulness and freshness! I am not sure if I am making sense here but try it. This shade will definitely lift up your spirits.

This particular shade however, has the tendency to make me look orange because I have warm undertone so I won't use this during summer. The shade would also looks good both on fair and morena skin.

Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor in Loud fuschia

09 Loud Fuchsia - Cool blue based pink
Its a cool bright pink which can make you look younger. Wearing this makes me look young with positive vibes. Its such an awesome bold color. Fret not, this color is very wearable. During the days wherein you want to have the Barbie doll look this will be your best bet! If you are not a fan of heavily applied lipstick then try my tinted way of application by dabbing it on your lips.

Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor in Spicy Masala

10 Spicy Masala - Brick Red shade
I like how it makes the person stand out with its unique color. Its brick red shade which leans more on brown is perfect for days when you want something different from your everyday pink or nude. This is actually my favorite shade out of all four.

See how all colors pop? They are so lively, the color payoff is amazing! The shades are pretty and lasted pretty long. This is not your typical matte lipsticks because its lightweight, layering is fine and there won't heavy feeling on your lips. There also won't be any uncomfortable feeling, bleeding or dryness at all.

How much and where to buy?
Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor is sold at Silky Girl kiosks for P279.

What I love
  • Buttery consistency
  • Light-weight lipsticks with non-sticky consistency that doesn't dry lips
  • Rich color pay-off, get opaque color with one swipe
  • Silky matte finish
  • Healthy lips because it has a slight sheen
  • Smooth and velvety finish
  • Sophisticated new colors
  • All day wear with minimal eating and drinking
  • Fragrance free
  • Highly pigmented and one swipe gets you an opaque color
  • Affordable
  • Accessible products at Silky Girl kiosks
  • Unscented and Carmine free (safe for sensitive skinned gals, yey!)
  • Not tested with animals
What I don't

  • Nothing I can mention

TIPS
  • To use Silky Girl Go Matte as tint, dab it on instead of swiping it on.
  • To make the color last longer remove the moisture on the lips by using tissue then apply baby powder to slightly mattify and seal the lipstick on
Will I repurchase?
I would love to get my fave shade once I finish it. Its such a rare color!

Overall~
Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor exceeded my expectations and I love the variety of shades! I am glad they released this line in the Philippines. I find myself reaching for Silky Girl Matte tubes nowadays because its non-drying formula which is perfect for the cold weather. I recommend this to girls who likes healthy yet matte lips. You will definitely love the creamy consistency and opaque color, one swipe and you are good to go!

Indeed wearing Silky Girl Go Matte Lipcolor might not solve all problems but it surely brightened up my day!
