Review: SILKYGIRL Skin Perfect Liquid Foundation

After my most recent breakout (what? not again?!) I planned on getting a new foundation that is safe and won't be too heavy on my skin. It is just in time when I got Silkygirl Skin Perfect Liquid Foundation on my stash and it's what we have for today's review, let's go!

What is it?
Silkygirl says:
Its Nano Seaweed Plus Vitamin E ingredient acts as anti-oxidants against free-radicals, protecting skin from the appearance of fine lines. The Nanospheres 100 Vitamin A Palmitate penetrate deep into skin to increase its renewal rate and eliminate dullness. Contains SPF 30 and PA+++ to shield skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays.

• SPF30/PA+++
• Healthier complexion
• Youthful-looking skin
• Formulated for Asian skin

They offer 4 shades in total which are: 1 Light, 2 Natural, 3 Medium, 4 Tan.

Packaging
I like how the tube fits my hands as well as my kit. I can practically bring it anywhere. It has a scre type lid and it small tube opening dispenses just the right amount of cream (not in photos, sorry). Like the other products I got with this bunch, the foundation is also plastic sealed and the ingredients are on it and not on the actual tube so I took this photo instead. I really like how it was mentioned that the product is 'not tested on animals'. Bonus point for that Silkygirl! *wink*

Experience
Silkygirl Skin Perfect Liquid Foundation's offers 4 shades but I can basically wear them all. The shade adjusts to my skin tone after a while, it seems like a BB cream. It does make my pores appear smaller and it doesn't look oily. The liquid comes a bit runny but its spreads easily. The finish is more on velvet matte because it doesn't look flat matte after the application.

Here is the swatch of the Silkygirl liquid foundation in 1 Light, 2 Natural, 3 Medium and 4 Tan.

On photos it might look not look very flawless but in real life it looks a lot better. To prolong the staying power I use finishing powder on top. I recommend using powder on top of liquid foundations and/or BB creams for a more flawless finish every time.

I am usually not aiming for a full makeup and I feel like it decently blur slight dark spots but if aiming for full coverage there is still the need for concealer.

How much and where to buy?
P329 for 25ml.

What I love
  • Doesn't test on animals
  • Feels light on the skin
  • Has SPF for sun protection against UVA with PA+++ as well as UVB!
  • Keeps skin hydrated
  • Smooth and natural finish
  • Pores appeared smaller
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Decently covers slight dark spots
  • A little goes a long way

What I don't
  • Nothing I can mention

TIPS
Top it off with a light finishing powder for a flawless finish!

Will I repurchase?
I like it, so yes.

Overall~
I find Silkygirl Skin Perfect Liquid Foundation more on the natural light coverage and it does let my skin breathe! It did not add to my current skin problem and it is very natural. A foundation that is best to be used during mornings when you won't need heavy makeup and it even has SPF.

Review: Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation

Good day pretty! An inspirational quote for today, mistakes are proof that you are trying! Yes and no matter how hard you day or week has been at the end of the day just think that life goes on.

Maybelline currently has this 25% sale for their Dream series foundation on until Sep 30, 2016. That is why I think I should review my former favorite Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation. I already reviewed MaybellineDream Velvet Foundation in case you haven't read it yet. So here we go~

What is it?
DREAM SATIN SKIN LIQUID FOUNDATION
Air-whipped liquid foundation for satin-smooth, poreless skin
With its lightweight formula that looks and feels just like your skin, the Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation gives your skin an airbrush effect so it looks effortlessly satin-smooth and poreless.

Packaging
Its in a sturdy glass bottle with a very cute pump and a plastic cap. Its a bit heavy to lug around in my small kit.

Experience
I am honestly more of a BB cream person rather than liquid foundation. Oh well, I like BB creams because its an all in one product plus it even offers high SPF. I had this foundation for a while now in B2 (I'm shade NC 25 btw) but I haven't had the chance to use it daily because I prefer my BB cream. Uh-oh not until I read an article that instructs to spray facial mist and use liquid foundation right after for a pore-less and long-lasting finish.

Guess what? After trying it out, I am in love. Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation makes my pores less obvious and it melts into a dewy finish. I also applied powder foundation and it sets nicely. Its not oily, didn't cake and didn't broke me out. The coverage is buildable from medium to heavy. For redness though you may still need to apply concealer. I prefer applying it using my fingers but I might try buying a sponge soon, I found one in Miniso, hohoho~ I don't bring this with me because its heavy and it might break if I always have it. I am a magnet for falling objects.

Just like any other liquid foundations, Maybelline Dream Satin adheres to the skin longer and better compared to powder foundations so make sure to use makeup remover to get rid of the product completely.

How much and where to buy?
On sale at P374 per 30ml bottle. I got it at the regular price of 499 though. Huehue~

What I love

  • Wallet friendly
  • Buildable medium to heavy coverage
  • Doesn't cake
  • Melts into dewy finish
  • Long lasting
  • Didn't broke me out
  • Blurs pores
  • No scent
  • Sun protection, its SPF 24
What I don't
  • I'm not a fan of glass packaging

TIPS
Try using powder on top for a flawless finish

Will I repurchase?
Yes I want to but they release Dream Velvet, and I like it better

Overall~
I recommend Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation to girls with dry skin because it can moisturize your skin while still providing coverage. For oily to combo skin you may want to try the Dream Velvet variant because its very lightweight and provides awesome coverage as well.
