Review: Maybelline Micellar Water

Happy first week of 2017 gals. A bit of throwback, for today I will review something I bought from the last Lazada sale which is Maybelline Micellar Water. Yes I have been so in love with Loreal Micellar water for a little while now, so I want to know how the Maybelline one is different.

Maybelline Micellar Water
4-in1 product: Removes makeup, Cleanses, Hydrates and Soothes
No fragrance, alcohol free, fresh and oil free

Bottle is simply a transparent plastic with simple screw cap. Its color is pink, which is again, guys and gals my favorite. I just felt like mentioning it haha. When turned upside down it doesn't leak, which is a good thing. It even have this safety foil to make sure that the product inside is fresh and new.

Like pure water it has no scent. It does stay true to its 4 in 1 promise.

Removes makeupWhat I really like with micellar waters is the fact that there is no need to tug the skin when removing makeup. The dirt is easily magnetified by the cotton ball like magic. Its is very different compared the old makeup removers I've used before.

Cleanses - Tired and straight for bed? If I use Micellar water there is no need for extra cleansing with water and facial wash.

Hydrates - Its not an oily type of makeup remover but it gives hydration to my skin. No tight feeling at all.

Soothes - My skin feels refreshed and so much better whenever I use this.

How much and where to buy?
P199 I bought mine at Lzada. But its also available in the Maybelline kiosks in the leading Watsons and beauty sections of the leading department stores nationwide. Only, if its not out of stock.

What I love

  • Affordable
  • Refreshes skin
  • Frees skin from makeup
  • Removes even my stubborn mascara
  • Multi purpose
  • Can double as toner
  • Can also be used as facial spray
  • No skin tugging to remove dirt
  • Does not dry out skin
  • No scent
  • no breakouts
  • Easy to bring bottle
  • Available in Watsons and online
  • Works as advertised

What I don't

  • Nothing I can mention

Refill an empty atomizer bottle and use this as facial spray!

Will I repurchase?
Maybe. But there are a lot of Micellar brands I still want to try~

Maybelline Micellar Water works as advertised. Loyal Maybelline users this product won't disappoint! I love how this product works without the hefty price tag. Its gentle and doesn't break me out. It can even be a multi-purpose item, try it! :)

My friend says she is a single core worker so she can't multi-task. I guess so am I. But I am trying so hard to do a lot of things at once lately. Which includes blogging, hope you enjoyed my post, any comments just drop in the comments.

Review: Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation

Good day pretty! An inspirational quote for today, mistakes are proof that you are trying! Yes and no matter how hard you day or week has been at the end of the day just think that life goes on.

Maybelline currently has this 25% sale for their Dream series foundation on until Sep 30, 2016. That is why I think I should review my former favorite Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation. I already reviewed MaybellineDream Velvet Foundation in case you haven't read it yet. So here we go~

What is it?
Air-whipped liquid foundation for satin-smooth, poreless skin
With its lightweight formula that looks and feels just like your skin, the Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation gives your skin an airbrush effect so it looks effortlessly satin-smooth and poreless.

Its in a sturdy glass bottle with a very cute pump and a plastic cap. Its a bit heavy to lug around in my small kit.

I am honestly more of a BB cream person rather than liquid foundation. Oh well, I like BB creams because its an all in one product plus it even offers high SPF. I had this foundation for a while now in B2 (I'm shade NC 25 btw) but I haven't had the chance to use it daily because I prefer my BB cream. Uh-oh not until I read an article that instructs to spray facial mist and use liquid foundation right after for a pore-less and long-lasting finish.

Guess what? After trying it out, I am in love. Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation makes my pores less obvious and it melts into a dewy finish. I also applied powder foundation and it sets nicely. Its not oily, didn't cake and didn't broke me out. The coverage is buildable from medium to heavy. For redness though you may still need to apply concealer. I prefer applying it using my fingers but I might try buying a sponge soon, I found one in Miniso, hohoho~ I don't bring this with me because its heavy and it might break if I always have it. I am a magnet for falling objects.

Just like any other liquid foundations, Maybelline Dream Satin adheres to the skin longer and better compared to powder foundations so make sure to use makeup remover to get rid of the product completely.

How much and where to buy?
On sale at P374 per 30ml bottle. I got it at the regular price of 499 though. Huehue~

What I love

  • Wallet friendly
  • Buildable medium to heavy coverage
  • Doesn't cake
  • Melts into dewy finish
  • Long lasting
  • Didn't broke me out
  • Blurs pores
  • No scent
  • Sun protection, its SPF 24
What I don't
  • I'm not a fan of glass packaging

Try using powder on top for a flawless finish

Will I repurchase?
Yes I want to but they release Dream Velvet, and I like it better

I recommend Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation to girls with dry skin because it can moisturize your skin while still providing coverage. For oily to combo skin you may want to try the Dream Velvet variant because its very lightweight and provides awesome coverage as well.

Review: Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation

Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation is the newest product of Maybelline along with their Fashion Brow Duo shaper and Lip Flush Bitten Lip by Color Sensational. I am looking forward into buying them all but when I got by the store only the foundation is available. Oh well, its okay. I often use Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation lately so I am almost out of it. I really needed to get a new face buddy so I bought Maybelline's new foundation - Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation.

What is it?
Maybelline says:
Our first gel whipped foundation.
Fresh new and flawless... Dream Velvet whips a fresh gel into a velvet-soft texture. Complexion is perfected and smooth with a soft-matte finish, just like velvet. Skin feels fresh with lasting hydration.

seal of freshness!
Thick consistency!

Its in a plastic hulog proof packaging! Yes yes I was sold with the packaging.

The predecessor of the Dream Velvet Foundation range. Now Maybelline's newest foundation comes in a handy dandy tube for easy lugging in our kikay kits! I tried it on Maybelline counter and I am in love. It spreads like a dream (thus the name) and feels like silk on my skin. I apply it using my fingers just like how I apply my bb creams. I only use about 2 pea size amount and its enough to cover my face. This will last for quite a while even with everyday usage.
it might look yellow under flash but in broad daylight its different
Because the foundation is gel, its perfect both for dry and oily to combination skin. It is moist enough for dry skin and won't trigger oiliness for oily to combi skin.

~Goodbye to oily skin, hello dewiness! I am impressed. In regards on its staying power, it stays from morning til night. Just don't wipe your face too much because its not transfer proof. My handkerchief have foundation marks already. You can always reapply though.

Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation's coverage ranges from light to medium. It doesn't layer up to hide up imperfections like dark spots but is enough to lightly cover redness on my skin. For dark spots just use your trusty concealer. This foundation doesn't accentuate pores but it doesn't hide it either. I braised myself for some super oily madness as I've gone out without anything but this on top of my sunscreen and bit of moisturizer. Behold~ It was a tough hot ride from our house to Makati but I all I got was healthy dewy skin. Yes yes yes.

It leaves a velvety glowing finish that can pass up as our second skin.

The only thing I didn't like was the shade I got which is a bit off. My mistake. I accidentally asked for the lightest shade forgetting completely that I need to check if the shade is pink or yellow undertone. However forget that because I am completely buying more of this. Next time in my right shade of course, girls with yellow undertone do not forget to buy shade Sandy Beige.

As I've checked they have more shades available which were not released in the Philippines. I guess they only hand picked a few that will suit Pinays. Their lightest shade is still a bit dark on me though.

How much and where to buy?
P374.25 in 25% discount from P499! -30ml tube

What I love
  • Its gel and its light on the skin
  • A little goes a long way
  • Matte but not flat - velvety matte finish
  • Turns dewy instead of oily
  • Not messy to apply
  • Coverage is light to medium
  • Spreads easily with no tugging
  • No scent
  • Hides redness well
  • Doesn't accentuate pores
  • Decently brightens under eye
  • Travel friendly tube
  • No whitecast
  • Affordable
What I don't
  • Transfers on hankies
  • Limited color selection
  • No sunscreen content
Yellow based shades is perfect for Asian skin, pick Sandy Beige
Its light enough to be a makeup base, feel free to top it off with your fave compact or loose powder.

Will I repurchase?
Yes! In my right shade.

Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation is a dream come true! Pun not intended. Its light on the skin and doesn't melt even in the humid weather. Its affordable yet even on sale, this is my new favorite. I recommend this to students and working girls who wants a foundation that works and easy on the pocket.

Review: Maybelline Hypercurl Volum' Express Mascara

Right now I've just finished Jigoku Shoujo Season 1 and I am now watching another anime- Sankarea. Its an anime about a guy who had a resurrected zombie girl as her girlfriend. Weird, eh? Well really, I am trying so hard to keep life less complicated and less serious so I watch more anime than usual. Its like my therapy to get myself out of the reality.

Anyhow since its Friday I finally get to wear something less formal, its wash day. Who else loves wash day? Since I felt I have more time today to put on makeup I used mascara. Eyes might be the windows to ones soul but I don't have a lot of time during the mornings to primp and prettify. Might as well go out bare face but I don't have the beaming confidence yet. So that is my hint, the review for today will be for Maybelline Hypercurl Volum' Express Mascara.

Maybelline Hypercurl Volum' Express Mascara Review

What is it?
Hyper-volumized, hyper-curled lashes…
• Exclusive Curl-lock formula contains sealing wax to make and keep a fully volumized curl from root to tip
• Locks curls for up to 18 hours
• Contact lens safe, ophthalmologist-tested

• Waterproof

Basically this mascara is P199 but the price lowered down to P149! Maybelline is popular for their very nice mascaras. They can't go wrong even for low-priced variants, can they?

L-O-V-E. The black and pink metallic color stands out- a lot. The color combination is feminine yet strong.

I don't usually put mascara unless its a special occasion or I feel like I have all the time in the world like this morning. First I curled my lashes and applied one layer with zigzag motion to make sure that my lashes is evenly coated. I add another layer to add more volume and length.

What I noticed is that unlike my old mascaras, Maybelline stays the whole day without product fall out. It even feels light like its not there. It also didn't smudge despite the humid weather and sweat from my daily commute. I even used this on my lower lashes and surprise surprise, I didn't looked like a panda at the end of the day. Its waterproof as well which means you will need to use makeup remover to get it off.

No filter picture below, comparison of with and without mascara. My lashes is naturally short, and yeah I had a breakout prior to this, well pimples hello.
Yes that is my eyes right there, RIGHT SIDE: upper and lower lashes curled and applied mascara about 2 coats LEFT SIDE: curled lashes without mascara

How much and where to buy?
Its on sale at only P149 for a tube (its originally P199). A mascara can only last 3 months after opening, I suggest to not splurge on mascara and besides there is no reason to because Maybelline Hypercurl Volum' Express Mascara is cheap!

What I love

  • Very affordable!
  • Feels light like its not there
  • Last throughout the day
  • Classy packaging
  • No product fall out
  • Doesn't clump lashes
  • Not watery not dry formula
  • It coats lashes well
  • Volumized lashes
  • Very black product
  • Didn't irritated my eyes.
  • Readily available in the malls
  • Lengthens eyelashes.
  • Waterproof.
  • Sweat-proof/ can withstand humidity
  • The curved wand and short bristles!
  • Doesn't weigh down lashes
  • Total value for the price

What I don't

  • Nothing I can mention

2-3 layers of mascara is the key to fuller lashes, just let it dry in between application to avoid clumping

Will I repurchase?

Maybelline Hypercurl Volum' Express Mascara is the bomb! I hope they don't discontinue this product as it simply does it job for the right price tag. Love Maybelline!~

Kikay Shopping with BeautyMNL!

Great day ladies!

Holy week is just around the corner and there is no arguing that summer is here! Yay. Just recently I was hand picked by BeautyMNL to try their shop. I placed an order at Friday evening and right on Monday it was already on our doorsteps. Aha-mazing~

So what did I buy? BeautyMNL's shop is filled with penchant of various beauty brands from all over the world. It is so fascinating to see all brands in just one place. From drugstore brands to the hard to find korean brands, this place got it covered.

Look at my haul:

Bottled babies from BeautyMNL

So from left to right:

I am currently using every product on my haul and I am off to review them soon! I love how fast the shipping is and how extensive their selection of products is. Its a one stop shop for all of our skin care and makeup needs. A big thumbs up!

Last month they started their #selfieMNL contest which I joined in. I was just not lucky to win, but alas they do this every month so new month means new chance!

TOP 5 Beauty Products in my Wish List

We all know how much Pinoys love Christmas. Our country has actually earned the distinction of celebrating the world's longest Christmas season! And to kick off the BER month and because I am still not on my shopping mode, haha let me share the Top 5 makeup in my wish list.

1. MAYBELLINE New York Dream Satin Skin Foundation
100% Poreless Look Airbrush Perfection

It was love at first swatch! I tried it on and I really love how dreamy it glided on skin. And it is boyfie approved! More plus points for that. He said it really looks good on me. That was like the first time he complimented my makeup. Looool~ Indeed it made my face look luminous, wow~
Nowadays I am more into convenient but light and long lasting makeup. Will this Maybelline foundation make the cut?
I am looking forward into getting a bottle and reviewing it fully in my blog.

2. THE BODY SHOP Lip & Cheek Stain
This dual-purpose liquid stain gives lips and cheeks a hint of natural-looking colour. Can be used under gloss for added intensity.

I have been lemming for this like forever! It has been on sale for a few times already and I still haven't got a tube. How sad life can be? I tried this one before, (thank you so much friend!) and I can say that Tony Moly Cherry Apple tint is one good dupe.
However years later, I still want THE BODY SHOP tint, hopefully I'll have the guts to buy a bit-steep-for-me tint for myself this Christmas (or on my birthday!)

The first universal balm by Dior reacts to the unique chemistry of each woman's lips to give them a natural flush of custom pink that suits her skin tone. As if revived from within, lips are fresh, full and radiant.

I am curious into how this one works. I saw my workmate used this and it turned somehow coral on her. Fascinating really, but the price is really high for a balm. Huehue~ This one might be on my wishlist forever.

4. KATE Goldish Eyes
As expected I can't easily find a photo for this eyeshadow. I remember seeing this sparkly eyeshadow from the japanese girl who assisted us in the airport. I am hands down mesmerized because it really looks stunning. I don't like sparkles on my face but on my eyes, its just yes yes and yes~

Originally developed as a salve for patients after laser treatment, BB Cream’s soothing and regenerative properties were adapted for cosmetics to improve skin while providing coverage. This product promotes natural-looking coverage while providing sun protection, treating dark spots, and preventing wrinkles.

This is another multi-purpose product I am so fond of. I love how BB cream is so convenient. I tried several brands already and this one is something I don't want to miss especially because of all the raves. Will buy this one day.

And there you have it! The Top makeup products in my wishlist. :)

In case you are wondering, the guy in my right is my good buddy Louie. Hello there!
Feel free to share products in your Wishlist as well. Until then, hope you have an amazing week ahead! To end this post lets watch a throwback Christmas performance from SNSD.  Very sexy~ <3

And anyhow I am thinking more like an all grown adult now because I want a car. Zalora has brought
a new campaign: “Mazda2 Drive for Fashion”. An exciting raffle game where participants are given a chance to go home aboard an all-new Mazda2 SKYACTIV R. The online raffle found on ZALORA Philippines’ official website runs from September 17 to November 30, 2015 and is open to all ZALORA customers. Car + fashion? Why not! This is their page for their exciting PROMO.

Long weekend ahead!~
