Review: Hortaleza M.D. Total Solution Perfecting Cream

Reliving the moments of my childhood I watch Magical Doremi and Fushigi Yuugi. Thank you Channel 5 for such wonderful anime throwbacks. Now can anyone bring back Galaxy Angel, Alice Academy or Code Geass? My inner Otaku is out! Haha.

Okay, so enough anime babbling (hehe). I remember I have Hortaleza M.D. Total Solution Perfecting Cream which has been sitting in my drawer for a while now.I do recall browsing the internet for a whitening cream when I saw a video of a woman with dark underarms who used the product. She relayed her progress in the video and the end result was unbelievably an even-toned underarm. It was so amazing that the video went viral. Unfortunately I cannot find the link to the video anymore.

Hortaleza M.D. Total Solution Perfecting Cream Review
Photo and info from Hortaleza

What is it?

Hortaleza, M.D. Total Solution Perfecting Cream is a multi-benefit product that is formulated with skin lightening and sun protection active ingredients plus vitamin antioxidants to offer total solution for different skin needs. With regular use, skin is soft and radiantly glowing.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Glycerin, Isopropyl Myristate, Sodium Palmitate, Glyceryl Monostearate, Paeonia suffroticosa Root Extract, Scutellaria baicalensis Root Extract, Saxrifaga sermentosa Root Extract, n-Acetyl- L-Tyrosine, Glutathione, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Kojic Acid, Sorbitol Liquid, Cetyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium Dioxide, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Fragrance, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Imidazolidinyl Urea

Look at the ones I underlined, maybe the key ingredients are Glutathione, Vitamin c and Kojic Acid. Hmmm~ (suma side comment ako. lol) Awesome because it also contains sunscreen.

Instructions:
After cleansing and toning, evenly apply on face and neck. Product may also be applied on other parts of the body such as elbows and underarms. Use in the morning and in the evening.

Packaging
The little container contains all you need to know about the product. This is the smallest tube Hortaleza offers. If my memory serves me right they have 3 sizes.

Experience

Although I bought this for whitening underarms I still ended up in using it for the face. I am quite cautious when using creams for the face because I have combination skin and I easily break out from whitening products. But since they claim it as really effective, I took the risk and tried Hortaleza cream on the face. After my daily regimen I use this as my last step, no more moisturizers, serums or anything. In the morning I've used this as my sunscreen. I cannot actually describe the texture of the product, its like foamy or I remember mousse-like. It is cream, no questions with that but a different textured cream. I hope I make sense here. I can say it doesn't suffice as a moisturizer though, which made me think about it being called multi-benefit.

Sometimes I still apply it to my underarms (just for the sake of trying). After a month, I noticed that the acne marks on my face started to lighten but alas, not much change in terms of whitening of the face. However when I wake up in the morning my face looks radiant. No breakouts as well.

How much and where to buy?
Hortaleza and HBC. I bought mine from HBC Victory Mall at P380 for 25g.

What I love

  • It did not break me out
  • Made face radiant
  • Accessible product
  • A little goes a long way
  • Faded acne marks
  • Local product
  • Complete product details in the label

What I don't

  • Not moisturizing
  • The packaging may be an issue for product contamination; always wash hands before using
  • A bit expensive

Will I repurchase?
The results was quite slow, I kinda expected something more because of the promises in the video I've watched. Sooo~ maybe not this time.

Overall~
I noticed difference with acne marks but its still there. I understand that there is really no overnight miracle. This is where patience is a virtue comes in. lol. Overall, Hortaleza M.D. Total Solution Perfecting Cream is still worth a try, after all results may vary from person to person. Who knows?

I'm dying to try the new HBC Instacurl. It looks like Babyliss curler, but I bet this one is more affordable. Tell me that I'm right!~

Random Sunday Beauty Haul

I just recently planned a trip to Landmark with my special boy friend. Okay noticed how the words are separated. Haha :)

You know I am into Watsons because it's so accessible but there's just a lot of cool finds in Landmark! I also dropped by HBC, Hortaleza and Saizen to grab a few items. I haven't gone out much since the end of school semester and a change in daily routine felt good. We spent most our time walking between shelves, I so love shopping! Check out my recent haul below which includes almost everything I have in my shopping list.

Quick review/ first impressions for the products I bought:
  1. Tresemme Smooth and Shine Conditioner -Runny conditioner compared to Creamsilk. Smells nice. I bought this to partner my shampoo.
  2. Tresemme Smooth and Shine Shampoo -A repurchase. I love how it tames my frizzy hair. Smells nice too just like it's conditioner counterpart.
  3. Hortaleza Professional Hair Coloring Cream -This is in 10.0: Bleaching cream! Impulse buy, I'm yet to use this and I really don't know when. -.-'')
  4. Mondes Low-Ammonia Hair Coloring Cream -11/N Super Platinum Natural Blonde. Don't freak out, it usually results to brown. This is another impulse buy, but I have used it already. Ekk~ hair disaster. Please watch out for my full review.
  5. Hortaleza Professional Oxidizing Lotion -Both of the HBC and Hortaleza shops I've been into has no stock of 12% oxidizing lotion. I don't know if it was normal? Or was it intended to make people buy the 9% oxidizing lotions? Just my wild thoughts. Haha :)
  6. Monea C.P.R. Hair Revitalizing Spray -Smells nice but I hate the spray bottle because it leaks when it's not in upright position. I'm yet to test it as well.
  7. Daiso Natural Nose Pack -I love the new packaging they were thoughtful enough to add english instructions. My sister loves this, she was too excited and used the pack twice in a row.
  8. Collagen Soap -It was fascinating to see a bluish black collagen soap because what I use is transparent.
  9. Travel size Powder Jar -I need a small jar for my Palgantong powder since I can't always bring the whole thing wherever I go since it's big.
  10. Human Heart Nature Sunflower Oil -Another repurchase! I love this oil.
  11. Eyeliner Brush -For tight lining and winged liners.
  12. Konjac Cleansing Sponge -A raved sponge by eonnie of Askmewhats if I'm not mistaken. I was looking for a good facial scrub so I decided to get one. This is the smallest size I've seen in Landmark, and the cheapest too.
  13. Hortaleza Professional Henna Wax Hair Treatment -(not in the picture) smells like minty herbal. If there is such word, hahaha :) Tried it because the saleslady said that this is the variant for chemically-treated hair. My hair feels a lot softer after a single wash, I'm impressed.
A beauty haul means more reviews! Hope to take away my shyness to post an FOTD. I'm trying my best to learn but I'd be honest, I am still not good in using make-up. See you in my next post!
