I am a March #selfieMNL beauty!

I rarely win on anything but this time I am a March #selfieMNL beauty winner!
YAY ~ <3

I have received a printster polaroid of my winning selfie and a P200 gift card. I am so happy~ :)

Here is how you can win as well! They have this promo every month and your submitted selfie will roll over for next month if you don't win the first time you send it. Good luck!

1) Post a selfie of your #FOTD (that’s “face of the day,” FYI) on Instagram. You can go as natural or experimental as you want with your beauty look—hair included!

2) Add the hashtag #selfieMNL, then tag@beautymnl and @rosannaaranaz (on the photo, and not just the caption).

3) At the end of every month, starting this April, Rosanna will choose the 10 best selfies in the bunch and feature them on her BeautyMNL column.

4) The 10 winning beauties get a printed polaroid of their selfie courtesy of Printster, plus a BeautyMNL Gift Card worth P200, delivered straight to their doorsteps! Now isn’t that awesome?

~o~

TOP 5 Beauty Products in my Wish List

We all know how much Pinoys love Christmas. Our country has actually earned the distinction of celebrating the world's longest Christmas season! And to kick off the BER month and because I am still not on my shopping mode, haha let me share the Top 5 makeup in my wish list.

1. MAYBELLINE New York Dream Satin Skin Foundation
100% Poreless Look Airbrush Perfection
P499

It was love at first swatch! I tried it on and I really love how dreamy it glided on skin. And it is boyfie approved! More plus points for that. He said it really looks good on me. That was like the first time he complimented my makeup. Looool~ Indeed it made my face look luminous, wow~
Nowadays I am more into convenient but light and long lasting makeup. Will this Maybelline foundation make the cut?
I am looking forward into getting a bottle and reviewing it fully in my blog.

2. THE BODY SHOP Lip & Cheek Stain
This dual-purpose liquid stain gives lips and cheeks a hint of natural-looking colour. Can be used under gloss for added intensity.

I have been lemming for this like forever! It has been on sale for a few times already and I still haven't got a tube. How sad life can be? I tried this one before, (thank you so much friend!) and I can say that Tony Moly Cherry Apple tint is one good dupe.
However years later, I still want THE BODY SHOP tint, hopefully I'll have the guts to buy a bit-steep-for-me tint for myself this Christmas (or on my birthday!)

3. DIOR ADDICT LIP GLOW
The first universal balm by Dior reacts to the unique chemistry of each woman's lips to give them a natural flush of custom pink that suits her skin tone. As if revived from within, lips are fresh, full and radiant.

I am curious into how this one works. I saw my workmate used this and it turned somehow coral on her. Fascinating really, but the price is really high for a balm. Huehue~ This one might be on my wishlist forever.

4. KATE Goldish Eyes
As expected I can't easily find a photo for this eyeshadow. I remember seeing this sparkly eyeshadow from the japanese girl who assisted us in the airport. I am hands down mesmerized because it really looks stunning. I don't like sparkles on my face but on my eyes, its just yes yes and yes~

Credits photo from cosmeticmarket5. Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 in No. 21
Originally developed as a salve for patients after laser treatment, BB Cream’s soothing and regenerative properties were adapted for cosmetics to improve skin while providing coverage. This product promotes natural-looking coverage while providing sun protection, treating dark spots, and preventing wrinkles.

This is another multi-purpose product I am so fond of. I love how BB cream is so convenient. I tried several brands already and this one is something I don't want to miss especially because of all the raves. Will buy this one day.

And there you have it! The Top makeup products in my wishlist. :)

In case you are wondering, the guy in my right is my good buddy Louie. Hello there!
Feel free to share products in your Wishlist as well. Until then, hope you have an amazing week ahead! To end this post lets watch a throwback Christmas performance from SNSD.  Very sexy~ <3

Review: Psalmstre NEW Placenta Herbal Beauty Soap With Goat's Milk

Hello lovelies do you smell the Christmas in the air? The ber months are once again fast approaching! The weather is warm and lovely again and clearly no signs of Christmas yet but the month is enough to get me excited! Last night I browsed online for possible gift ideas and found Zalora'sChristmas Gift Guide! Yay~ quickly spotted something I can give for my sister's debut this September. Hihi~ I also noticed that there is also a wide range of beauty products available and I think they would make great Christmas gifts for my friends too.

Besides that I am so excited for the coming weeks because we will soon arrange our very own college convention kyaa~ and I still need to look for possible sponsors. By the way today, I'll talk about a soap I should have reviewed some weeks ago. Haha, :) One of my best buddies in skin whitening:

Photo credits goes to owner. Forgot to take photos.

Psalmstre NEW Placenta Herbal Beauty Soap With Goat's Milk says:

Now with double-acting anti-aging + goat's milk!

Psalmstre's New Placenta Soap with Goat's Milk is a highly effective, mild, skin-whitening cleansing bar. Thanks to the combined active ingredients such as virgin coconut oil, Vitamin E, Botanical Placenta Extract and with the added skin nutrients in Goat's Milk, this beauty bar is an excellent moisturizer, exfoliant, anti-oxidant, and antibacterial at the same time.

With the high content in skin nutrients and skin-defending manganese from Goat's Milk, your skin will surely be blemish-free, smoother, younger looking, glowing and fair...only with New Placenta Soap with Imported Goat's Milk

Psalmstre NEW Placenta Soap is a highly raved local soap in GT. It has been widely advertised on tv too. It also comes in two variants: classic orange papaya soap and the white one with goat's milk. I chose goat's milk since it's more popular than the first one. Gotta know what the fuzz is all about nae?~

Here is Psalmstre's website in case you are curious with their product range because they have other products besides whitening soaps.

The look:
I got the 135g. biggest size soap. Box is simple and it lets you see the white bar inside.

The scent:
This soap has no scent and it doesn't even lather well. Hoho~

The experience:
I used Psalmstre NEW Placenta Herbal Beauty Soap With Goat's Milk alone to see the full effect it can give. On my first 5 days I experienced dryness which followed by micro peeling. I have used my trustworthy Yoko salt scrub to easily get rid of dead skin cells.

I have dark spots left from insect bites and it has lightened gradually with my every usage. I usually wait for 5 minutes before I wash off, this makes the soap more effective IMO. Elbows, knees lightened as well which is awesome I didn't really expect much from a placenta soap. I am leaning to kojic acid soaps in terms of whitening so this is something different.

However I noticed that my skin became more sensitive after I finished the whole bar. Definitely dry and quite itchy. Yikes. I dunno if this was the rashes that the other sissies were talking about however I am guessing that this has something to do with the severe dryness effect of the soap. You can use highly moisturizing lotion to counter dryness.

I was brave enough to try it on my face too, no breakouts or whatsoever but not recommended because like I've said it is really drying. Skin feels tight after usage. For the face I have decided to stick with facial wash and whitening creams which is more on the safe side. :)

The price:
Around 135g soap retails for about P130? Yay I forgot, I need to check. Product comes in 3 sizes (trial size anyone?)

What I love:
  • It is effective in whitening
  • No scent
  • Doesn't melt easily
  • Lightens scars/ insect bites
  • Affordable and worth the price
  • Gives fast results
What I don't:
  • Highly drying
  • Doesn't lather much
  • Whitening soap that is not meant for long term usage

Will I repurchase?
Yes but some other time after I use other whitening but moisturizing soaps.

TIPS:
  • Wait for 5 minutes or so before washing off the soap lather this makes it more effective.
  • Use scrub to remove dead skin, exfoliating will give you faster results.
  • Always moisturize after usage.
  • Use sunblock when going out. Skin tends to darken easily when we use whitening products.
  • Recommended to be used twice a day but after finishing one bar stop and use other moisturizing soaps.
  • Stop usage if you experienced severe dryness/rashes.
Overall~
Psalmstre NEW Placenta With Goat's Milk is a whitening soap worth the try. In my opinion though it should not be used for anti-aging. in terms of whitening though, this is perfect! Make sure to only use Psalmstre soap once in a while though.

Yay~ btw let me share our group's performance last Sunday as Nine Muses in Hallyu Wave Festival 2013 we got 8th place out of 30 groups who joined so hooray for that, haha. Everything was rushed actually but we'll do better next time:

Random Sunday Beauty Haul

I just recently planned a trip to Landmark with my special boy friend. Okay noticed how the words are separated. Haha :)

You know I am into Watsons because it's so accessible but there's just a lot of cool finds in Landmark! I also dropped by HBC, Hortaleza and Saizen to grab a few items. I haven't gone out much since the end of school semester and a change in daily routine felt good. We spent most our time walking between shelves, I so love shopping! Check out my recent haul below which includes almost everything I have in my shopping list.

Quick review/ first impressions for the products I bought:
  1. Tresemme Smooth and Shine Conditioner -Runny conditioner compared to Creamsilk. Smells nice. I bought this to partner my shampoo.
  2. Tresemme Smooth and Shine Shampoo -A repurchase. I love how it tames my frizzy hair. Smells nice too just like it's conditioner counterpart.
  3. Hortaleza Professional Hair Coloring Cream -This is in 10.0: Bleaching cream! Impulse buy, I'm yet to use this and I really don't know when. -.-'')
  4. Mondes Low-Ammonia Hair Coloring Cream -11/N Super Platinum Natural Blonde. Don't freak out, it usually results to brown. This is another impulse buy, but I have used it already. Ekk~ hair disaster. Please watch out for my full review.
  5. Hortaleza Professional Oxidizing Lotion -Both of the HBC and Hortaleza shops I've been into has no stock of 12% oxidizing lotion. I don't know if it was normal? Or was it intended to make people buy the 9% oxidizing lotions? Just my wild thoughts. Haha :)
  6. Monea C.P.R. Hair Revitalizing Spray -Smells nice but I hate the spray bottle because it leaks when it's not in upright position. I'm yet to test it as well.
  7. Daiso Natural Nose Pack -I love the new packaging they were thoughtful enough to add english instructions. My sister loves this, she was too excited and used the pack twice in a row.
  8. Collagen Soap -It was fascinating to see a bluish black collagen soap because what I use is transparent.
  9. Travel size Powder Jar -I need a small jar for my Palgantong powder since I can't always bring the whole thing wherever I go since it's big.
  10. Human Heart Nature Sunflower Oil -Another repurchase! I love this oil.
  11. Eyeliner Brush -For tight lining and winged liners.
  12. Konjac Cleansing Sponge -A raved sponge by eonnie of Askmewhats if I'm not mistaken. I was looking for a good facial scrub so I decided to get one. This is the smallest size I've seen in Landmark, and the cheapest too.
  13. Hortaleza Professional Henna Wax Hair Treatment -(not in the picture) smells like minty herbal. If there is such word, hahaha :) Tried it because the saleslady said that this is the variant for chemically-treated hair. My hair feels a lot softer after a single wash, I'm impressed.
A beauty haul means more reviews! Hope to take away my shyness to post an FOTD. I'm trying my best to learn but I'd be honest, I am still not good in using make-up. See you in my next post!

Review: Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner

How’s your summer girls? Are you loving it? Well as for me I want to get busy thus I’m currently making my list of ‘must-do’ this vacation. *wink*

My blog has been so prone to hackers lately so if you still get the Attack page’ then that is a boohoo for me. I submitted a request for a review of my website, hopefully it’s already clean now, I did my best to delete the hacker files and restore my site! I was so hopeless when I can’t log-in my dashboard. My only tool is Google and the results it gives, even my hosting can’t help me. :(

I might try to post a quick how to next time on steps I did to recover my blog. I am sad on how foolish people can be. They hack websites just for the mere fun of it. I hope there are not much of broken links as I just reinstalled wordpress again.

Anyway so since my blog is back online (although other pips can’t access it yet due to the warning page) I will post a review of my old favorite: Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner.

Noticed how I added the heart in above photo? Haha… I’m just playing around with our photo editor here. XD

Ingredients: (since it was not fully visible in the shot)
All Natural Witch Hazel, containing natural grain alcohol 14% and Witch Hazel Extract

I am fond of using whitening soaps, unfortunately my face became dry after prolong usage. I can’t use alcohol toners as because it will also contribute to dryness (yes I’m talking about you Eskinol!) So I needed an alternative, something gentle that will keep my skin clean and moisturized. Let me clear that I have enlarged pores, but it’s not really my main concern when I was looking for a new toner. After a long day my usual routine of taking off my make-up:
  1. About 5-10 minutes facial massage of Pure Beauty Perfect Cleansing Liquid to remove all traces of make-up.
  2. Wash off the oil and dirt with Moisturizing Collagen Soap.
  3. With a cotton ball moistened with Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Toner I am sure that my face is squeaky clean.

Did Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner stayed true to it’s promise?
  • Refines pores -With continuous use it might work but do not expect drastic changes. I have enlarged pores so I can see whether a product does tighten pores or not. Hmm… is that a good thing? Lol. At least I’ll know if something is not working, haha.
* ” Witch Hazel is high in tannins. Tannins are found in any natural astringent because of their ability to tighten, dry and harden tissues.”
So as per my research, i can also be used for insect bites, chicken pox etc because it can soothe itchiness. Click here to learn 15 ways of using Witch Hazel.
  • Removes and controls oil -Yes it does remove oiliness and keeps my skin’s moisture. Which is a good thing. I notice that I don’t need to frequently use blotting paper anymore.
  • Soothes Irritation -When I first used Dickinson’s Witch Hazel toner my skin is irritated due to dryness. It indeed helped reduced itchiness. I also used Physiogel cream along with this toner.

Where to buy?

Healthy Options for P79/ 2 oz. bottle, very affordable. It’s their travel size, which is cute compared to it’s original size which is a really big bottle.

PROS

  • Cheap!
  • Effectively cleans despite being non-drying.
  • Refreshes my skin. So perfect for summer!
  • Accessible product, any SM malls with Healthy Options.

CONS
  • Sometimes I don’t like the smell. though it really depends on my mood. LOL.. The scent of this toner is like chesnuts.
Will I repurchase?

Yes, this is an HG material. I still look forward into trying out Hada Lobo but for now Dickinson’s Witch Hazel toner is enough. I am more than loving this product, I might get the astringent version of this too, Soooo excited!

Review: Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Before anything else I want to say sorry to those who have seen the 'hacked' message of Op-Israel. Err...this has been the 3rd time that my blog was hacked and getting it back online is such a big pain.

I just researched and did what I can do. In the positive side I am learning, but not enough reason to get more hacks in the future! I wonder what I can do to secure my website?

Okay so I'll stop blabbering now. Today I'll review my personal favorite- Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque!

I already emptied my tube of Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque even before I publish this, so imagine how long did it take for me to give a review? XD

This tube is big and it took me months to finish, I do not even apply this daily (...and don't! because it can dry out your skin!) The tube is perfect in dispensing the product, just the right amount every time. I apply this mask after a long tiring day, this mask simply makes me feel relaxed, the scent is like Double Mint chewing gum or toothpaste, so refreshing. I think it can even be your perfect summer buddy. I also use this as a spot treatment for pimples. I usually have occasional breakouts when my period is getting near or whenever I feel a bit lazy to remove my make-up (I know this is a big sin! OMY. Don't do this!)

Make sure that you wash your face before using the product. Spread it heavily and evenly to your face (or your neck too if you prefer) make sure that there is enough clay on every part of your face. You will feel that you are ready to wash off the mask when it's already dry. I always sneeze when I have this on because I can inhale it's powder form. LOL. My skin looks fresh and feels clean after washing the mask off. Sometimes I needed to double wash to fully remove every trace of mask on my face.

Okay so above is the ingredients of Queen Helene. Others are scared about methylparaben so I searched and found out that there is nothing to worry about:
"Advocates of organic and natural foods and cosmetics have expressed concerns over the use of parabens in consumer products for years, but there is little evidence to warrant it. While it is true that methylparaben is readily absorbed through the skin as well as in the intestinal tract, it is converted back into para-hydroxybenzoic acid and quickly excreted through urine. In fact, the only negative side effects that have been documented are contact dermatitis and skin sensitivity, both occurring with rare frequency and only in reaction to very high concentrations of test material." -Read more here

Did Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque stayed true to it's promise?

Helps dry up acne pimples
YES! Like what I've said I use this as spot treatment and it does help in minimizing my pimples after about 2-3 applications. I use this hand in hand with my bleaching cream which is also a drying agent for acne. Works like magic.

Rinse away blackheads
Yes and No. It does significantly lessen the appearance of blackheads but it's still there.

Shrink enlarged pores
Yes and No. I have enlarged pores as for your reference. I do notice that my pores seems less noticeable after washing out the product but after a while it gets back to normal.

Where to buy?
Healthy Options for about Php329 per 226.8g/ 8 oz. tube.

PROS:
  • Cheap because there is so much product inside the tube!
  • Works like magic especially in being a spot treatment for pimples.
  • Refreshing and perfect for summer!

CONS:
  • Nothing! :D

Will I repurchase?

Yes! I don't expect this mask to work on pores nor blackheads. For me, the product works the way that it should. I love, love, love this mask. This is the cheapest clay mask I've used so far and I have no complains or whatsoever.

When I first bought this mask I was so excited that I asked everybody at home (my family! XD) to try out the product too. To end this post, here is my pretty mom who says BOO! Teehee~ :))

Review: Etta's Compact Skin Whitening Powder

This post is long overdue. But anyway, since whitening is still all the rage now and I still can't find a review about Etta's then I'll publish this. :P

So what is Etta's?
Etta's Compact Skin Whitening Powder (also called Etta's bleaching powder) is:
A pre-mixed compact of skin beauty aids in a single white dry powder form. The effective skin whitening for dark skin or areas of dark skin - sunburn, thus preventing the formation of freckles, birthmarks, pimples and blackheads, prickly heat that gives baby skin results. No pre-washing needed. Economical and easy to apply.

I have high hopes with Etta's Bleaching Powder because of the raves I see in girltalk. How good can this powder really be? I gave in and ordered my Etta's online. It was not easily available in stores before. I also bought Etta's Mixing Solution for the mix sold separately. It is mentioned that we can use milk in place of the mixing solution though. Etta's Mixing Solution is 10 V Hydrogen Peroxide which can also used to lighten/bleach hair.

The product:

The bleaching powder is a finely milled plain white powder. It has no scent and the texture is the same with flour. One box contains 112 grams of product divided to 2 separate bags.

How to prepare?

  1. Put (1 tablespoon for face/ 4 tablespoon for body) Etta's powder in a bowl.
  2. Mix powder with the Hydrogen Peroxide until ice cream appearance is produced.
  3. Apply on desired area. Wait until it dries and wash with plenty of water.
  4. Apply moisturizer/ lotion after.

Recommended Schedule of Application for best results:
  • Once for 7 consecutive days
  • Twice for 1 week
  • Once for 1 week
  • Twice for 1 month
  • Then once a month regularly

*This regimen works the same as White Henna and Soap Chips which is also quite popular way to body bleach.*

Results?
Upon application you will feel your skin tighten, somehow itchy but do not fret as this is normal. I used Etta's Bleaching Powder hoping that it will even out my skin tone. However I didn't noticed any changes. I followed the schedule as hard as I can but I still didn't seen effects.

PROS
  • Cheap whitening regimen. It's only P180/ box and P30 for the Mixing Solution both available in Mercury Drug stores nationwide.

CONS
  • Messy routine and not for busy people. You can't walk around when you use this product as the powder will fly around and you'll leave white mess on your floor.
  • No ingredient list for the bleaching powder.

Final Verdict:
Despite the fact that I didn't noticed any effect, I still think that this product is still promising. Hydrogen Peroxide alone is already a wonder product. I am quite fair so I assume that bleaching powder is not enough to even out my skin tone. I will ask my sister to try this, who knows? It might work on her. After all, a lot of people already swears by this product. The effect of Etta's Bleaching powder varies so you need to try it out yourself to see if it works for you. *wink*

I'm curious to know what whitening regimen do you have now sisses?

Review: Mestiza Complete Herbal Soap

Hi sweeties don't you just love the heat? :) Wait haha, who am I kidding? Summer is fast approaching and the scorching heat is already killing meh~ Today I will review Mestiza, a soap raved by Donna of My Lucid Intervals this review made me buy the soap. Hoho~

Okay so this is the soap box. Kindly click if you would like to read the details :)

REVIEW:
Mestiza Herbal Soap is quite intriguing because of its contents: Papaya, Carrot, Banana, Calamansi and Virgin Coconut Oil. Only the good!

It's like a complete package already as it claims to do more than whitening our skin. This soap is unscented which is super fine with me. It helped me lessen my breakouts (take note the word 'lessen'). Using this soap  made me feel squeaky clean. It made my skin a bit dry, but nothing a moisturizer and lotion can't fix though! *winks*

Mestiza soap however didn't whiten my skin. Maybe it will take a few more bars. I have the feeling that it does whiten and effects will be gradual as long as you use the soap.

How much?

Less than P50 (can't remember the exact price) for 120 grams of product. It is worth it, plus the soap doesn't melt easily!

Will I repurchase?

I already have a long list of soaps I want to try so repurchasing this might take a long time but I might opt for Mestiza Herbal Soap once I feel the need for a safe herbal bath soap.

Review: Avon Skin So Soft: Soft and White Lotion Radiant Glow + Marula

"Formulated with Advanced Brightening Complex, pearl powder and precious Marula oil, provde immediate radiant fair skin, revealing a white and younger looking skin."

Before anything else is it just me or do you also think that the name is too long? LOL. This is part of my Avon loot (remember the shampoo?) from my tita.

I actually bought two variants. The other one is for deep moisture and this one is for whitening: Avon Skin so soft: Soft and White Radiant Glow Whitening Hand and Body Lotion + Marula. I purchase this lotion because I need a mild whitening lotion. I just used green peeling oil on my legs and bleaching lotion is kinda harsh for new skin.

I was captivated by the scent of this lotion. It smells heavenly for me. Some might find the scent overpowering but I just like it the way it is. The scent stays long, I applied at night and I can still smell the lotion when I wake up in the morning! The lotion is not sticky and is quickly absorbed by my skin. With just 3 days of usage I noticed that it lived up to its claims of 'radiant glow'. I can't comment on the whitening effects yet though, maybe I need to finish a few more bottles *wink*.

PROS:

  • Smells so good!
  • Not sticky
  • Cheap less than Php150 per 250 ml bottle

CONS:

  • For the price and quality? None.
Will I buy again? I want to try other lotions may it be for whitening or extra moisture, but since since Avon lotions are so affordable then there is no reason not to say yes.

How about you sweeties? What's your favorite whitening lotion? Feel free to comment down below! :)

Review: Shawill Pretty Color Eyeliner 01

Hello lovelies! How's your Valentines? As for me I spent the day making pink ribbons! Sigh~ I love pink! It's not really an exciting way to spend the day eh?

For today I will be talking about the newest eyeliner I purchased. I have always liked sparkly stuffs that's I really adore glittery/shimmery/sparkly make-ups! My love for shimmers even grew more because of watching korean eye make-up tutorials. I have been keeping an eye on tear drop liners but since its always OOS then I have decided to look for an alternative.

Shawill Pretty Color Eyeliner 01
A rich colour liquid eye liner that combines long-lasting wear with a non-smudge, non-flake precision line. Goes on effortlessly. Applies with its own brush to draw a perfectly defined line. Available in a wide range of classic and trend shades.
I was like a jumping rabbit when I've seen this liner. I love the glitters! Some people though might not like the chunky glitters because its far from the usual look of teardrop liners.
Shawill Pretty Color Eyeliner looks better in person than in photos because it doesn't show much in pics. I use this on my lower waterline in place of tear drop liners. The shade is in numbers only, mine is in 01. 01 has colorful glitters and a clear base.
I use this liner in school and it stays the whole day! Hooray! :D

Price: 8ml for Php98

Where to buy? Shawill counters at Watsons

PROS
  • Has pretty micro glitters!
  • Colorless base. Perfect for neutral looks.
  • Stays the whole day for me
  • Affordable

CONS
  • Not too visible on photos
  • When worn for more than half a day the liner flakes
Will I buy again?
No. I want to try other glitter liners from other brands like Etude House. I am so curious on the difference of Tear drop liners to normal glitter liners.

Review: Avon Naturals Mango and Ginger Energizing 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner

Summer is coming and I am getting excited! Sorry for the lack of updates. I am so busy because of school, work and family. Anyway what I will be reviewing today is a shampoo from Avon. I got this product from my last purchase of Avon products.

Avon Naturals Mango and Ginger Energizing 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner says:
Formulated with mango and ginger extracts, this 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner effectively cleanses and maintains hair's moisture balance. Helps nourish, revitalize and condition hair from root to tip as it removes everyday build-up and styling residue. Leaves hair feeling silky soft and looking healthy from the first wash.
My review:
Okay so I bought this simply because its mango! I love the mango scent however this shampoo failed me. The shampoo smells like candies instead of mango or ginger. Not bad, but not what I am expecting.

The price: 200 ml for Php 99 = Affordable! I got this on sale but even the regular price which is still less than 200 is fine. So YEY! for that.

The effect:
I have coarse, dry, wavy hair but after one wash my hair is obviously straighter and tamed. I am pleased, its a good effect not stated in the product description so I'm happy! Its not soft though but I really do not expect my hair to be soft with a 2-in-1 product that you should still use your favorite conditioner.

PROS

  • Straightened and tamed my hair.
  • Doesn't have parabens because its Natural! xD
  • Cheap!

CONS
  • Smells good like candies but not mangoes.
  • Not readily available in malls or Watsons.

Will I buy again?
This product is great because it tamed my frizzy hair and made it look straighter which I didn't expect. I love this and will surely grab extra bottles.

Review: Etude House Sheer Silky bb cream

I have been having a long busy September and I just had to get everything accomplished! I had no luck this past few days just to name a few, this things happened in one single week: I lost my job, the cover group I'm subbing for failed to make it in the contest (talk about no practice days because we lack 2 or 3 members!), I needed to go to the hospital again for a second opinion about my ECG result! (Duh~)

I was itching to replace my Maybelline bb cream because I cant squeeze any product out of its pump anymore! I browsed through online forums and I came to a decision that I want Etude House Precious Mineral bb cream all day-strong #2 aka EH sheer silky bb cream (Ekkk...yesssh a very long name, its a korean product after all). Tons of reviews of this prod in the net are quite convincing so even if it was not my price I still stretched my budget to the limits to get one (700 pesos for a single prod was a big gamble for me).

Anyway for the sake of the people who doesn't know what a bb cream is, this link is for you: What is bb cream? BB cream has more or less the consistency, look and feel of those liquid foundations but this has more magic into it because it has extra benefits such as whitening, healing, brightening, glowing --A few of the new variants has SPF protection as well.

This is how my new EH Precious Minerals Sheer Silky bb cream looks like:

This bb cream is all over the place already so I have decided not to post HD photos and use my oh-so-reliable-webcam-on-mornings for this review.

Let me explain my take on this product  in plain bullet points:
  • The consistency- thicker than my last bb cream which was Maybelline. I find it quite hard to spread despite the fact that I did moisturized prior of its application.
  • The color- Sheer Silky is the fair version which was said to be for oily skin and Sheer Glowing has a darker color which was said to be for dry skin.
Some people had questions "how about people with dark skin and has oily skin?" or "how about people with fair skin but has dry skin?" My opinion was maybe Etude House has thought that most oily people are acidic thus the product they put on their face will oxidize quickly?

(In this photo you'll see that the tube looks battered already, but in it's not! LOL) I tried to apply this at school but to my surprise the cream jump over my head to my shoulder staining my uniform for the day. Hooray for being reckless.

  • The look- it has a nice girly packaging, perhaps because of the price that goes with it. Anyway most products of Etude has this girly look but the cuteness award for packaging should go to Tony Moly, hehe. ^^
  • Sheer silky has a white tube and it has a purple pump that dispenses just the right amount of product you needed but be careful as it is quite tricky at first(read story above^). One complain I have is how the cap is easily removed from its tube. It doesn't lock in place and I always have to look for it in my beauty kit.
  • The name- All day strong. True, it stayed the whole day on my face and blotting only twice is perfect. Byebye touch ups!
  • The effect- As I've said its harder to spread than my first bb cream but as days go by I learned that the way how I put it has effect on how easy or hard my application will be. My pores got smaller and it has a sheer matte finish. I agree with the other blogger that the color of this cream is quite fair -but not the type that will make you look ghostly as it blends with the skin tone after a minute or two.

  • How I use it- I love bb creams as it gives a glowing effect. I was having high expectation with this bb cream actually because its a korean brand but after testing it for a week I can conclude that just like my Maybelline I still need the powers of my mineral foundation from Ellana to achieve that healthy glow that I had before. Since Sheer silky is matte, the glow effect is less than having some other bb cream with a non-matte finish. Glowing and oily may have almost the same feel by the way, but don't be confuse.
  • How much?- This bb cream retails for Php728. It has 60g. of product inside its handy tube.

All in all this Sheer Silky bb cream is worth trying out, I love it but I dont think I really like the matte finish as I love glowing skin effect from bb creams and this one doesn't show it off.
