April Skin Magic Snow Fixing Cushion Review

Annyeong! Its already March and I finally got hold of most of the items I have been lemming. Yay! Its better to buy something you really like rather than to think of it too many times. You know you will end up buying it anyway. I restraint myself from  buying too many makeups etc but I can't help myself with April Skin Magic Snow Fixing Cushion.

What is it?
Full matte coverage Magic Snow Fixing Foundation with its innovative compact format, ensures perfect complexion and is easy to touch up.

April Skin Magic Snow Fixing Cushion is aimed for great coverage especially for troubled skin. this cushion is trending all over the social media due to its truly convincing marketing video. No wonder, that this baby is selling like hot cakes.

April Skin Magic Snow Fixing Cushion is available in 3 shades: 21 light beige, 22 pink beige & 23 natural beige.

Instructions:
Step1 Remove translucent film from the mirror
Step2 Open inner lid and remove the attached film
Step3 Gently press cushion to release the perfect amount of foundation on the puff.
Step4 Lightly pat the puff on skin

Packaging

I am head over heels in love with the rose gold packaging. I am so glad that I am buying a pink colored makeup item. April Skin Magic Snow Fixing is my very first cushion and I am thrilled when I received it. Compared to other cushions, April Skin offers innovative mesh netting which makes it less prone to drying out fast unlike other sponge type cushions. It also says that its there to ensure even application. The only thing I noticed with it is that it attracts finger prints, so the case looks a bit dirty as it looks in the picture above.

The sponge provided looks flimsy but its not. Although its not soft, I like it because it doesn't absorb too much product. The sponge works great with layering the foundation.

The reality of using cushion is the used sponge. Lol~

Comparing to sponge cushions, April skin uses mesh

Experience
I was originally looking for April Skin 2.0 but feedback says its more on the dewy finish. Given the Philippine weather, April Skin Snow Fixing which is matte is more suitable bonus fact is the case color which is rose gold.

This bb cushion has a slight powder scent. In terms of coverage, it borders light to medium but it managed to cover my red spots. Dark spots still need a bit of concealer though. In terms of pore visibility it kinda lessens its pore size and it gives a filtered soft effect. End finish is matte but not flat, I did not used powder on top but it did not make me look oily. April skin did not accentuate my dry patches which is great because I have patchy skin right now because I am currently using local obagi. I am thankful that although its matte its still a not so dry formula, it even feel like it provides moisture. Its very lightweight and feels like second skin.

Compared to my Etude House Perfect Fit BB, April Skin has a drier formula. April Skin also has yellow undertone while Etude House has pink undertone. Its not visible on the pic above but when worn on the face its more obvious.

Comparing the two I must say April Skin's coverage is better due to its formula. Easier to layer too.

Another selling point of April Skin is that its advertised as a type of bb cushion makeup that won't transfer, well to be honest with you guys, it does but its very very minimal.

At night I take it off with Micellar water. I still reapply and bring the cushion with me outside so I can reapply at midday. Fresh makeup looks best of course. With continues usage I think it can last me a month or so. Without further ado, behold my troubled skin below before and after April Skin.

How much and where to buy?
There are a lot of fake April Skin cushions nowadays, make sure to buy only original ones, we don't know what is inside the fake ones.
Althea PH offers this at P950 per cushion here, if you are okay to wait (because it will be shipped from Korea) then this is good, they often have promos and sale products, if you plan on hoarding korean products then this is sweeeg~ (awesome, read: Kim Bok Joo fans if you know what I mean).

If you want the product ASAP, BeautyMNL sells this at P1285, still cool given that you get it faster than a speeding bullet, (pun intended) link here.

One cushion has 15g of product which I guess would last a month or so with everyday usage. OMG nooo~

What I love
  • Rose gold cushion packaging is to die for
  • Soft effect on the skin
  • Moisturizes
  • Offers SPF
  • Yellow undertone
  • A little goes a long way
  • Did not accentuate my dry flaky skin
  • Lessened appearance of pores
  • Brightens skin
  • Controls Oil
  • Covered redness
  • Light to medium coverage
  • Lightweight
  • Natural looking
  • Perfect bb cushion for the korean look you're aiming for
  • Doesn't break me out
  • Lasts all day
What I don't
  • Product spills to the sides when cushion is pressed
  • I still used concealer on my dark spots
TIPS
Layer on to achieve better coverage after using moisturizer underneath
Remember to buy this variant if you have oily to combination skin. The April Skin 2.0 is for dry skin gals.

Will I repurchase?
Yes to the moon and the back~ I love this cushion!

Overall~
April Skin Magic Snow Fixing Cushion's coverage and yellow undertone are perfect for my needs. It ends into a natural bright finish without the need for powder. April Skin is my very first cushion and I am not disappointed.

Review: Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++

"Sometimes I pretend to be normal but it gets boring so I go back to being me~"
-unknown

Last night I asked one of my bosses what they call the white japanese doll they hang on windows when it's raining. After a while, he returned and showed the doll he made out of tissue! I found out it's called rain doll or 'teru teru bozu'. It is usually hung upright in the hopes of making the rain stop but yet when it's turned upside down it becomes a prayer for rain. Neat huh? Magically the rain stopped a few minutes after the doll was hung on our office door. Sugoi~ (cool)

Today I've just published a page that will be updated daily with the current shopping sales in the Metro. Feel free to bookmark or share sales you might know here: Shopping Sale Alert 2016. The product I will review for today is Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++ in Light beige No. 21.

What is it?
Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream offers a novel skincare concept with BB cream, which lightens skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover ability and prevents skin ageing through effective whitening and anti-wrinkle properties.

A closer look at the box
Yes, it does contain paraben and mineral oil, if you might be wondering...

They have some other shades, I swatched Shade No. 23 in their kiosk in Landmark but it's a bit darker than me. I was afraid for it to oxidize on me so I chose a lighter shade.

Packaging
Classy maroon colour for the plastic tube. The pump is working perfectly and dispenses just the right amount of product each time.

Experience
I have high expectations with Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream, it's a popular product. Upon using it I can say the coverage is in between light to medium. I only need 1-2 pumps to cover my face so I think this will last me a long time.

I don't have dark eye circles but it surely brightens up my under-eye area. For dark marks or red pimples, I needed some concealer to cover it up. I think I will need a green concealer to cross out the redness. It also minimizes my pores for a while until by the time that it blends with my skin tone. I like that it also moisturizes my skin and it doubles as a sunblock. 42 PA+++ sun protection is awesome, but maybe it's also the reason why it gives this weird grey cast. I won't try getting near a flash from a camera while I am wearing this.

To tell you honestly, this bb cream feels heavy. I always make sure that there is no bb residue left behind after washing because it can surely lead to a bad breakout. It also can't be used alone because it makes my face sticky like it'll attract all the dust and pollution by the time I go out of the house. I lightly dust powder on top of Missha M Perfect Cover and I am good to go.

How much and where to buy it?
₱560.00 at Althea

What I love
  • Coverage is light to medium and acts like a second skin
  • Doesn't break me out
  • Smells like flowers <3
  • Minimizes the appearance of pores
  • Brightens under the eye area
  • Blends with the skin after a few minutes
  • Moisturizing and doesn't accentuate dry patches
  • Stays all day
  • Makes me look like I'm fresh and blooming (lol)
  • Affordable!
What I don't
  • Can be layered but might not give enough coverage
  • Grey cast on flash camera
  • A bit heavy and sticky on humid days
  • Contains paraben and mineral oil
TIPS
Try using a brush to distribute the product evenly on your face
If using cream blush use it after using the bb cream

Will I repurchase?
Yes! I recommend this to busy girls like me who like multi-purpose products.

Overall~
Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream is a great bb cream for the price. I can't say anything more, the coverage, the scent, the sturdy packaging and the SPF 42 PA+++

Aju Nice!~ Seventeen's newest comeback. I love this song right now~
I'm off to a dance practice later. A great way to break my work-house routine yay <33

TOP 5 Beauty Products in my Wish List

We all know how much Pinoys love Christmas. Our country has actually earned the distinction of celebrating the world's longest Christmas season! And to kick off the BER month and because I am still not on my shopping mode, haha let me share the Top 5 makeup in my wish list.

1. MAYBELLINE New York Dream Satin Skin Foundation
100% Poreless Look Airbrush Perfection
P499

It was love at first swatch! I tried it on and I really love how dreamy it glided on skin. And it is boyfie approved! More plus points for that. He said it really looks good on me. That was like the first time he complimented my makeup. Looool~ Indeed it made my face look luminous, wow~
Nowadays I am more into convenient but light and long lasting makeup. Will this Maybelline foundation make the cut?
I am looking forward into getting a bottle and reviewing it fully in my blog.

2. THE BODY SHOP Lip & Cheek Stain
This dual-purpose liquid stain gives lips and cheeks a hint of natural-looking colour. Can be used under gloss for added intensity.

I have been lemming for this like forever! It has been on sale for a few times already and I still haven't got a tube. How sad life can be? I tried this one before, (thank you so much friend!) and I can say that Tony Moly Cherry Apple tint is one good dupe.
However years later, I still want THE BODY SHOP tint, hopefully I'll have the guts to buy a bit-steep-for-me tint for myself this Christmas (or on my birthday!)

3. DIOR ADDICT LIP GLOW
The first universal balm by Dior reacts to the unique chemistry of each woman's lips to give them a natural flush of custom pink that suits her skin tone. As if revived from within, lips are fresh, full and radiant.

I am curious into how this one works. I saw my workmate used this and it turned somehow coral on her. Fascinating really, but the price is really high for a balm. Huehue~ This one might be on my wishlist forever.

4. KATE Goldish Eyes
As expected I can't easily find a photo for this eyeshadow. I remember seeing this sparkly eyeshadow from the japanese girl who assisted us in the airport. I am hands down mesmerized because it really looks stunning. I don't like sparkles on my face but on my eyes, its just yes yes and yes~

Credits photo from cosmeticmarket5. Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 in No. 21
Originally developed as a salve for patients after laser treatment, BB Cream’s soothing and regenerative properties were adapted for cosmetics to improve skin while providing coverage. This product promotes natural-looking coverage while providing sun protection, treating dark spots, and preventing wrinkles.

This is another multi-purpose product I am so fond of. I love how BB cream is so convenient. I tried several brands already and this one is something I don't want to miss especially because of all the raves. Will buy this one day.

And there you have it! The Top makeup products in my wishlist. :)

In case you are wondering, the guy in my right is my good buddy Louie. Hello there!
Feel free to share products in your Wishlist as well. Until then, hope you have an amazing week ahead! To end this post lets watch a throwback Christmas performance from SNSD.  Very sexy~ <3

And anyhow I am thinking more like an all grown adult now because I want a car. Zalora has brought

Review: Nature Republic By Flower BB Cream

I was contemplating if I should get the Botanical Pore BB cream or this one. I chose the latter, this is my first BB cream from Nature Republic and I've decided to get the most affordable - Nature Republic By Flower BB Cream from the bunch.

What is it?
BB cream with corn flower extract that makes skin baby soft

Packaging
I think they had the packaging design changed. However it still looks okay now. Plastic tube packaging which dispenses the right amount of product. One complain is that all product details are in korean. I cannot understand a thing. Oh my~

Experience
Nature Republic By Flower BB cream is not runny but it spreads easily on the skin. The flower scent is therapeutic for me, I love sniffing it while I do my makeup teehee. There is only one shade available when I bought this bb cream. Sadly this is grayish not yellow toned unlike my old favorite Purederm BB cream. But its no biggie because it blends in with my skintone in just a minute. It offers me light to medium coverage and only a pea size is needed to cover up the face. The coverage however is not really buildable. No matter how much product I use it won't cover up dark spots so I use my Etude House concealer. Just like other bb creams I have used it blurs out pores and it brightens skin. It gives me a semi matte finish which is good if you prefer not to apply powder to make it look more natural.

I am not expecting much because its cheap but I am amazed that it can withstand hot and humid environment. I tried wearing this bb cream during our dance practice and it was still there after 4 hours! What kind of sorcery is this? It's really nice.

How much and where to buy?
I think P350 per 30ml tube. You can get this in Nature Republic kiosks in SM malls or Facebook online shops

What I love
  • Therapeutic flower scent
  • Spreadable
  • Blurs pores
  • Brightens skin
  • No visible sparkles!
  • Semi-matte finish
  • Did not break me out
  • Economical - only a bit product for each application is needed
What I don't
  • Grayish and not yellow toned bb :(
  • Only one shade available
  • Coverage not buildable
TIPS
Best as makeup base.
Can be used with loose powder on top, it doesn't cake on me.
Use when its hot and humid. You won't be sorry.

Will I repurchase?
I really like the simplicity of this product I think I'm going to repurchase (but I would love to try their Botanical pore bb too~ what to do?~)

Overall~
Nature Republic By Flower BB cream is a really good bb cream. This one is a keeper, not just skin friendly but also wallet friendly.

OFF: Let meh share our teaser video for our upcoming re-debut as Annyeong Venus (cover group of kpop idol group: Hello Venus) YAY!~

My Sunday Mini Beauty Haul

Hello Lovelies! So I took advantage of the weekend and got out of my crib. Awesome Sunday at the mall which lead me to an unplanned purchase of below:

Nature Republic By Flower BB Cream
I am using BB creams again after a year! And yes of course we can never go wrong with a BB cream from a korean brand. This time I got it from Nature Republic. Detailed review coming up! There is also this pink gel polish which I gave been eyeing for long as well. This is in shade number 14. What could be the difference with normal polishes?

Lander Advanced Skin Care Whitening Body Lotion
Then another big bottle of Lander lotion for the whole family. Haha a life saver. This is affordable and it simply works. After all the drying whitening soaps alas, we need moisture~

UPDATE about me:
I am buying an oven toaster this week.
Torn between Asahi OT-2311 and Kyowa Kw3315 both are less than P3,500 but there is a 500 watts difference. I will start to learn how to bake soooooon~
Also thinking if I should start a vlog for easy makeup tutorials, yay or nay?

Wish me luck Lovelies! <3

Review: Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Gorgeous Purple

Hello Rainy Sunday! I am happy that it's raining because it means that it'll be less hot in Manila. Just this morning I just registered my subjects for this semester. I think summer days will pass faster now.
I don't really have the time to update my blog because of my sideline job online for summer so while I have the extra free moments I'll review a bb cream I got on sale in Beauty Bazaar months ago. -Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Gorgeous Purple. This is meant to be used to even out and brighten skin tone. They also have a green variant for skin trouble and redness but basically both are:
Blemish balm
Vitamin care
Make-up Base

Kyaa bb cream again! Yeesh~ What sold me on Liole bb cream is the fact that it can be used as a make-up base. I was curious on how my bb creams will look on top of another bb make-up base. I love the purple princessy packaging because it's classy and chic looking. It comes in a pump so it is hygienic. This is made in Korea, I read somewhere that this can pass up as a CC cream (supercharged bb cream version) because of the coverage. Okay so enough of my endless blabbering hahaha, here is my review:

My Experience:

This bb cream has the thickest texture among the bb creams that I tried. The color is whitish purple with really really small particles which changes into the color of skin your tone after blending. I must agree with the thoughts of other bloggers that the concept of the product is quite gimmicky, because how can the purple tone of the bb cream correct the yellowness of your skin when the color changes when it is blended? Oh well~ nonetheless I still like this product. Because texture is thick, a little product goes a long way, awesome!

Going back, Lioele Dollish veil has this floral kinda soapy scent which I love. Its a really light scent which is pleasant. I usually use this alone or on top of my moisturizer. It doesn't really spread easily so you need to have a properly moisturized face prior to the usage of this product. Yes I've also tried this as a make-up base for my bb cream but unfortunately it feels heavy for my taste.

The finish of Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB is matte, it's perfect for the humid weather like this summer. It has SPF 25 PA ++ and I think it can be a good as a substitute for sunblock but the moisturizer I use contains SPF as well. One application instantly brightens up my complexion but maybe it's also because of the fact that it is lighter than my skin tone. I don't see the need for concealer because of the coverage, it doesn't completely cover my dark spots and redness but it makes them less noticeable. I also don't get oily thanks to the formula and the product's matte finish.

My pores aren't covered well unlike with other bb creams with dewy or satin finish. Topping off this bb cream with finishing powder (although optional since finish is already matte) makes a difference though. I didn't experienced skin break outs nor whiteheads and blackheads, which I happen to get every time I use bb creams. The product stays the whole day although I still need to check on my oily nose once in a while.
The final look of this bb cream alone is next to natural, it's just like having a lighter skin tone or you can also call it your second skin. A make-up that doesn't look like make-up. Amaaaazing!

How much?
Price is around P1,280/ 30 ml. UPDATE! The price is now only P950 at Beautymnl

Where to buy?
Lioele kiosks in the malls, online shops or in their website: Lioeleph

To summarize my review...
What I love:
  • Lovely princessy packaging.
  • The floral scent!
  • Coverage is awesome.
  • Matte finish doesn't make me oily.
  • It doesn't break me out.
  • Does it job as it brightens skin instantly.
  • Perfect bb cream for natural look.

What I don't:
  • Cap loosens after a while, it's always lost in my make-up kit, haha :)
  • It doesn't blur out pores unlike other bb creams.

Will I buy again?
Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Gorgeous Purple is a nice addition to my kikay kit but I would love to get the green variant next. I highly recommend having one bottle in your stash though, it is a must-have for bad skin days or when you just feel like brightening up.

Care to share your favorite bb cream below? :D

Review: Etude House Sheer Silky bb cream

I have been having a long busy September and I just had to get everything accomplished! I had no luck this past few days just to name a few, this things happened in one single week: I lost my job, the cover group I'm subbing for failed to make it in the contest (talk about no practice days because we lack 2 or 3 members!), I needed to go to the hospital again for a second opinion about my ECG result! (Duh~)

I was itching to replace my Maybelline bb cream because I cant squeeze any product out of its pump anymore! I browsed through online forums and I came to a decision that I want Etude House Precious Mineral bb cream all day-strong #2 aka EH sheer silky bb cream (Ekkk...yesssh a very long name, its a korean product after all). Tons of reviews of this prod in the net are quite convincing so even if it was not my price I still stretched my budget to the limits to get one (700 pesos for a single prod was a big gamble for me).

Anyway for the sake of the people who doesn't know what a bb cream is, this link is for you: What is bb cream? BB cream has more or less the consistency, look and feel of those liquid foundations but this has more magic into it because it has extra benefits such as whitening, healing, brightening, glowing --A few of the new variants has SPF protection as well.

This is how my new EH Precious Minerals Sheer Silky bb cream looks like:

This bb cream is all over the place already so I have decided not to post HD photos and use my oh-so-reliable-webcam-on-mornings for this review.

Let me explain my take on this product  in plain bullet points:
  • The consistency- thicker than my last bb cream which was Maybelline. I find it quite hard to spread despite the fact that I did moisturized prior of its application.
  • The color- Sheer Silky is the fair version which was said to be for oily skin and Sheer Glowing has a darker color which was said to be for dry skin.
Some people had questions "how about people with dark skin and has oily skin?" or "how about people with fair skin but has dry skin?" My opinion was maybe Etude House has thought that most oily people are acidic thus the product they put on their face will oxidize quickly?

(In this photo you'll see that the tube looks battered already, but in it's not! LOL) I tried to apply this at school but to my surprise the cream jump over my head to my shoulder staining my uniform for the day. Hooray for being reckless.

  • The look- it has a nice girly packaging, perhaps because of the price that goes with it. Anyway most products of Etude has this girly look but the cuteness award for packaging should go to Tony Moly, hehe. ^^
  • Sheer silky has a white tube and it has a purple pump that dispenses just the right amount of product you needed but be careful as it is quite tricky at first(read story above^). One complain I have is how the cap is easily removed from its tube. It doesn't lock in place and I always have to look for it in my beauty kit.
  • The name- All day strong. True, it stayed the whole day on my face and blotting only twice is perfect. Byebye touch ups!
  • The effect- As I've said its harder to spread than my first bb cream but as days go by I learned that the way how I put it has effect on how easy or hard my application will be. My pores got smaller and it has a sheer matte finish. I agree with the other blogger that the color of this cream is quite fair -but not the type that will make you look ghostly as it blends with the skin tone after a minute or two.

  • How I use it- I love bb creams as it gives a glowing effect. I was having high expectation with this bb cream actually because its a korean brand but after testing it for a week I can conclude that just like my Maybelline I still need the powers of my mineral foundation from Ellana to achieve that healthy glow that I had before. Since Sheer silky is matte, the glow effect is less than having some other bb cream with a non-matte finish. Glowing and oily may have almost the same feel by the way, but don't be confuse.
  • How much?- This bb cream retails for Php728. It has 60g. of product inside its handy tube.

All in all this Sheer Silky bb cream is worth trying out, I love it but I dont think I really like the matte finish as I love glowing skin effect from bb creams and this one doesn't show it off.
