Review: Purederm Dual Wellbeing Pack

Purederm has been a very popular brand with girls like me since the 'boom' of hallyu reached the Philippines. They don't just carry their own bb cream but they have their own line of facial masks as well. I just bought a tube of QH mask last month and I know that my beauty kit has been jammed up with lots of brands and products but I still bought the so-called peeling mask of Purederm in a whim. I really have a hard time controlling myself not to buy anything especially when I'm inside Watsons or any department stores! (I see that you can relate, teehee ^^)

Okay so enough talk (yeah I know sissies I have been quite talk attive lately). The Purederm Dual Wellbeing Pack is a 2 in 1 wash-off type multi massage pack. So when they say its a 2 in 1, i is really 2 in 1! This Purederm 'peeling mask' oh I mean Dual Wellbeing pack (weird name, really) has deep cleansing peeling gel on the top part and nutritious vitamin pack at the bottom.

You might be thinking what is the need for 2 types of pack? Well this what the direction says:
  1. Thoroughly cleanse & wet face.
  2. Apply peeling gel to face and massage evenly. Rinse with water after 1 minute.
  3. Continuously open Vitamin Pack and apply to face and massage. Rinse with water after 5-10 minutes.

The peeling effect of the peeling gel is comparable to magic peeling of Etude House and I am doubting that this is indeed skin sloughing off. The color match (white) is from the product and not dead skin. Hmmm...fishy.

Anyway so the vitamin pack has this yummy citrus orange smell that applies smoothly to the skin. Nothing fancy, but skin felt refreshed after rinsing it off.

This is my very first mask from Purederm and though there is no drastic results I will still continue using this, it only cost Php39.75 at any Watsons store and right now you can earn 10X of your points in SM Advantage or BDO card! (seen this promo in SM San Lazaro) I got this peeling pack even before they released this promo, geez.

What I like:

  • The sweet scent of the nutritious vitamin pack is love!
  • I love the refresh feeling after I use this.
  • A bit minimizing of pores.
  • I can use this more than once! A little goes a long way, hehehe.

What I dont:

  • The make-believe dead skin from the peeling gel.

Facial masks are meant to be used again and again to see full results, I have seen lots of girls who tried a mask once and gave up right away. Try using facial masks as a weekly habit, pamper yourself a little! :)

Love lots,

Busy-busy September now ends

After a long week in Magsaysay Training Center (MIHCA) I had to take a break, for the next practicum on Monday. That is why I have decided to take a stroll at Victory Mall which is near at my house.

I quickly spotted a store full of cosmetics of I-dont-know brands. Their products is obviously from China, just by the looks and the smell of it. But I cant resist the fact that they are still indeed cosmetics and for me they look so pretty so I did went inside to take a close look of the products.

The selection is complete from the most common face make-up- compact powders, blushes to eye shadows, lipsticks, lip glosses and the not-so-common- false lashes and colored hair waxes. What amazed me is they even sell the moist lotion I blogged about before and so does various bb creams which all has the same qualities: no smell and no coverage. I wonder how come they classified them as bb cream?

Anyway that sums up my post for the week. This month is busy but totally fab!<3

Review: Etude House Sheer Silky bb cream

I have been having a long busy September and I just had to get everything accomplished! I had no luck this past few days just to name a few, this things happened in one single week: I lost my job, the cover group I'm subbing for failed to make it in the contest (talk about no practice days because we lack 2 or 3 members!), I needed to go to the hospital again for a second opinion about my ECG result! (Duh~)

I was itching to replace my Maybelline bb cream because I cant squeeze any product out of its pump anymore! I browsed through online forums and I came to a decision that I want Etude House Precious Mineral bb cream all day-strong #2 aka EH sheer silky bb cream (Ekkk...yesssh a very long name, its a korean product after all). Tons of reviews of this prod in the net are quite convincing so even if it was not my price I still stretched my budget to the limits to get one (700 pesos for a single prod was a big gamble for me).

Anyway for the sake of the people who doesn't know what a bb cream is, this link is for you: What is bb cream? BB cream has more or less the consistency, look and feel of those liquid foundations but this has more magic into it because it has extra benefits such as whitening, healing, brightening, glowing --A few of the new variants has SPF protection as well.

This is how my new EH Precious Minerals Sheer Silky bb cream looks like:

This bb cream is all over the place already so I have decided not to post HD photos and use my oh-so-reliable-webcam-on-mornings for this review.

Let me explain my take on this product  in plain bullet points:
  • The consistency- thicker than my last bb cream which was Maybelline. I find it quite hard to spread despite the fact that I did moisturized prior of its application.
  • The color- Sheer Silky is the fair version which was said to be for oily skin and Sheer Glowing has a darker color which was said to be for dry skin.
Some people had questions "how about people with dark skin and has oily skin?" or "how about people with fair skin but has dry skin?" My opinion was maybe Etude House has thought that most oily people are acidic thus the product they put on their face will oxidize quickly?

(In this photo you'll see that the tube looks battered already, but in it's not! LOL) I tried to apply this at school but to my surprise the cream jump over my head to my shoulder staining my uniform for the day. Hooray for being reckless.

  • The look- it has a nice girly packaging, perhaps because of the price that goes with it. Anyway most products of Etude has this girly look but the cuteness award for packaging should go to Tony Moly, hehe. ^^
  • Sheer silky has a white tube and it has a purple pump that dispenses just the right amount of product you needed but be careful as it is quite tricky at first(read story above^). One complain I have is how the cap is easily removed from its tube. It doesn't lock in place and I always have to look for it in my beauty kit.
  • The name- All day strong. True, it stayed the whole day on my face and blotting only twice is perfect. Byebye touch ups!
  • The effect- As I've said its harder to spread than my first bb cream but as days go by I learned that the way how I put it has effect on how easy or hard my application will be. My pores got smaller and it has a sheer matte finish. I agree with the other blogger that the color of this cream is quite fair -but not the type that will make you look ghostly as it blends with the skin tone after a minute or two.

  • How I use it- I love bb creams as it gives a glowing effect. I was having high expectation with this bb cream actually because its a korean brand but after testing it for a week I can conclude that just like my Maybelline I still need the powers of my mineral foundation from Ellana to achieve that healthy glow that I had before. Since Sheer silky is matte, the glow effect is less than having some other bb cream with a non-matte finish. Glowing and oily may have almost the same feel by the way, but don't be confuse.
  • How much?- This bb cream retails for Php728. It has 60g. of product inside its handy tube.

All in all this Sheer Silky bb cream is worth trying out, I love it but I dont think I really like the matte finish as I love glowing skin effect from bb creams and this one doesn't show it off.

September Watsons Haul

"Wingardium Leviosa~"
I love Harry Potter the movie and this is my favorite spell. Haha. :)

I dropped by in Watsons last Wednesday and got a few necessities for my 'Me time'. Haha :)

1.  Yoko Cucumber Spa Salt -the green variant of my favorite Yoko salt scrub. It smells sweeter than the yogurt variant, it smells more like candy.
2. Golden Fabulous Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner -a repurchase, I noticed that both are more watery now and scent was a whole lot different than before it was pulled out from Watsons. I guess they reformulated or they have done cost-cutting. Too bad for a really good product.
3. Purbasari Lulur Mandi Putih -another scrub similar to Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Body Scrub. It has a really strong smell.
4. Shower Cap -My first Watsons shower cap. I just bought a hair spa tub and I definitely need this.
5. Pair of Scrub Gloves -I think I'm becoming obsessed with scrubbing, but this is handy if I use a moisturizing soap.

To my lovely readers, don't hesitate to comment if you want any of this reviewed. :D
See you on my next post!

Beauty in a budget from Regenesis

September is an early sign of Christmas, dont you think this is just perfect for a 'pamper me time?'

I heard this tip from BEC of Mygorgeouspinkcheeks. I have not tried any facial treatments nor cleaning yet so if ever I’ll take this chance, it’ll be my very first!

10 facial and diamond peels for only 3000 bucks, so it'll only be P300 per session which is so affordable! This treat is surely tempting but I must say that there is one downside, because although Im a tourism student I am still a dummy with directions! But of course I know you are not like me so here is the exact location of Regenesis:

Regenesis, The Face and Body Boutique is located at 2/F Metrowalk Complex, Meralco Ave., Pasig City

Let me know your experience with their service once you avail them. :)
