Review: Eshiko Silica Face Powder

Some product photos and description are from Eshiko.

Smaller pores, smooth & glowing skin in just one application!
ESHIKO™ is a transparent hydrated silica face powder reduced to a size of 10 nanometer, the size of a single particle of smoke.
Due to its size, it easily glides to the skin leaving a layer of protective light absorbing nanospheres that makes the pores smaller and gives a smooth and radiant look in an instant. It is also translucent which means it does not make your skin pale white even after excessive application.
ESHIKO™ absorbs oil and sweat 15 times its own weight. It's perfect for people who want to have the perfect skin complexion.

Pardon for not taking pictures when my Eshiko is still brand new. But here are really good shots from: Pinay Beauty Guide

The  claim about divine poreless skin upon application made me buy Eshiko. Also, there are tons of positive reviews online! ...and who wouldn't be curious after seeing this photos? I was like "Oh it's magical!"

 eshiko powder

All the hype always drives me crazy especially when it is something about pore minimizing! OMO~

Packaging:
At first look Eshiko looks like a simple tub of powder, who would imagine that it costs a lot? It has a protective tape inside to avoid product spillage however there are still powder particles in my package when it arrived, which means that despite the tapes still didn't secure the product inside. I just used a cotton pad to stop the powder from spilling especially when I bring the tub along in my kit.
Packaging is sturdy but after a few weeks the 'Eshiko' brand name on top of my powder's lid faded.

The Product:
The white silica powder is finely milled I must believe that this is indeed the same size of a smoke particle. It is 10 grams per tub and looks like a decent finishing powder.

First time to post a side by side photo!~ The side with Eshiko looked brighter right? But see how it highlighted dry patches. Can you see how it softens the look of the pores?

Coverage:
I am mostly into glowing look nowadays this product makes me look matte but not flat. My face doesn't stay matte for long, I get oily after about 3 hours and I need to blot or at least reapply the product. IMO it does not look better with the presence of moisture and oil unlike mineral powders.
It can give a slight glowing and flawless look but it just won't do justice on pimple marks especially on red acnes. How about on pores? It does soften, yes it is the right word for the effect it does on pores. It doesn't blur nor minimize but it softens the look of the pores making it less visible or attention grabbing, I should say.
It can also actually help in making us look great on photos but it doesn't look as awesome in real life.

Application:
I don't know what to expect on a HD powder. It quite rough for my skin upon application, nothing to be surprised about because the product is silica however I am not comfortable using it. I already turned my back on Ellana's White Chocolate powder primer which is also made of silica.
I use either of my my kabuki brush and sponge for applying products. It depends on what I've grabbed that day, lol. I'm not choosy on those kind of stuff. A little actually goes a long way with Eshiko.

How much?
Good thing I still have my email history, I was able to recall that I paid P499 for one pot from Metrodeal: Get Beautiful Skin with Eshiko and Feel Young and Rejuvenated Again for P499 instead of P1350 - Save 50%
Eshiko does handle shipping, if you bought from a deal site supported by them you can email them so you can ask for their bank details: support@eshiko.com
They've only used Xend for shipping and I am in Manila but shipping fee was P160.

What I like:
  • It softens the look of pores
  • Good finishing powder for bb creams
  • Photogenic finish!
What I don't:
  • I can't use it alone when I am not in my good-skin days.
  • Good effect doesn't last long.
  • Too expensive for a finishing powder

Will I buy again?
No. I like Eshiko but I don't I'll need another one anytime soon. I think I can still find an affordable version of this powder in the market. The results it gave me is not as outstanding as it claims. Price is quite over my budget.

Overall
A nice finishing powder but not-so-worth the price. I still have a lot of powders, cheaper ones that I like better than Eshiko, take Palgantong powder as an example. I can still recommend this if you have the budget, the good skin and if you are looking for a finishing powder bound to brighten up your skin.

eshiko silica face powder
No make-up look with bb cream, Eshiko, eye liner and peachy lippie!

Hope you like my review about Eshiko. Have I typed in too much today? Guess I have a lot of things to say. Anyway what is your favorite face powder dearies? Share in the comments below and I'll see you in my next post! :)

Review: Herbench Pretty when Pinched Cheek and Lip Tint

Long ago, in a faraway place, there lived a lovely princess named Snow White. Her hair was black as coal, her lips red as rose, and her skin as white as snow.
We all know how beautiful Snow White is and I admit I once dream of becoming like her. Now it's not so impossible after we get a pinch of color on our cheeks! Rosy cheeks + rosy lips = Snow White look, yes? :)

Herbench Pretty when Pinched Cheek and Lip Tint is already a famous lip tint to start with. I bought one on a whim because I love the product swatch.

I can't capture a shot of my own tint now because it doesn't look presentable anymore
As you can see the product is inside a glass bucket nail polish type packaging. It is delicate and can break easily so you need to be extra careful if you have this inside your kikay kit. Sadly because of my own carelessness I broke mine and I lost half of the product amount *sad*. I can only use it now before I go out because it will surely make a mess inside my kit if I attempt to bring it along with me.

My Experience:

Herbench tint is scary purplish red inside the glass bucket but when swatched the color is soft reddish pink and oh-so buildable. It is oil free and and a water type of tint but not so runny. It doesn't clog my pores when used as a cheek tint and it doesn't dry out my lips when I use it as a lip tint. You don't need to hurry when applying this because it doesn't dry fast but you still need to become careful to blend it well to avoid red streaks which is common for tints. Herbench Pretty when Pinched tint doesn't last long both on cheeks and lips but the color is lovely and I don't mind reapplication!

How I use it: I use this on top of my bb cream usually as lip and cheek tint, perfect for natural make-up look.
How much: P180/ 40 ml in Bench stores nationwide

What I love:
It's an affordable and accessible product.
A little goes a long way.
Has no weird taste nor smell

What I don't:
It doesn't last long especially on the lips.
Package is made of glass :(

Will I buy again?
YES! I totally love this tint despite the fact that it doesn't last long. Herbench tint's color and no fuss application wins me over. This is an affordable tint that delivers! :)

Ayo sisses, can you shout out your favorite lip and cheek tint below?

Review: Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Gorgeous Purple

Hello Rainy Sunday! I am happy that it's raining because it means that it'll be less hot in Manila. Just this morning I just registered my subjects for this semester. I think summer days will pass faster now.
I don't really have the time to update my blog because of my sideline job online for summer so while I have the extra free moments I'll review a bb cream I got on sale in Beauty Bazaar months ago. -Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Gorgeous Purple. This is meant to be used to even out and brighten skin tone. They also have a green variant for skin trouble and redness but basically both are:
Blemish balm
Vitamin care
Make-up Base

Kyaa bb cream again! Yeesh~ What sold me on Liole bb cream is the fact that it can be used as a make-up base. I was curious on how my bb creams will look on top of another bb make-up base. I love the purple princessy packaging because it's classy and chic looking. It comes in a pump so it is hygienic. This is made in Korea, I read somewhere that this can pass up as a CC cream (supercharged bb cream version) because of the coverage. Okay so enough of my endless blabbering hahaha, here is my review:

My Experience:

This bb cream has the thickest texture among the bb creams that I tried. The color is whitish purple with really really small particles which changes into the color of skin your tone after blending. I must agree with the thoughts of other bloggers that the concept of the product is quite gimmicky, because how can the purple tone of the bb cream correct the yellowness of your skin when the color changes when it is blended? Oh well~ nonetheless I still like this product. Because texture is thick, a little product goes a long way, awesome!

Going back, Lioele Dollish veil has this floral kinda soapy scent which I love. Its a really light scent which is pleasant. I usually use this alone or on top of my moisturizer. It doesn't really spread easily so you need to have a properly moisturized face prior to the usage of this product. Yes I've also tried this as a make-up base for my bb cream but unfortunately it feels heavy for my taste.

The finish of Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB is matte, it's perfect for the humid weather like this summer. It has SPF 25 PA ++ and I think it can be a good as a substitute for sunblock but the moisturizer I use contains SPF as well. One application instantly brightens up my complexion but maybe it's also because of the fact that it is lighter than my skin tone. I don't see the need for concealer because of the coverage, it doesn't completely cover my dark spots and redness but it makes them less noticeable. I also don't get oily thanks to the formula and the product's matte finish.

My pores aren't covered well unlike with other bb creams with dewy or satin finish. Topping off this bb cream with finishing powder (although optional since finish is already matte) makes a difference though. I didn't experienced skin break outs nor whiteheads and blackheads, which I happen to get every time I use bb creams. The product stays the whole day although I still need to check on my oily nose once in a while.
The final look of this bb cream alone is next to natural, it's just like having a lighter skin tone or you can also call it your second skin. A make-up that doesn't look like make-up. Amaaaazing!

How much?
Price is around P1,280/ 30 ml. UPDATE! The price is now only P950 at Beautymnl

Where to buy?
Lioele kiosks in the malls, online shops or in their website: Lioeleph

To summarize my review...
What I love:
  • Lovely princessy packaging.
  • The floral scent!
  • Coverage is awesome.
  • Matte finish doesn't make me oily.
  • It doesn't break me out.
  • Does it job as it brightens skin instantly.
  • Perfect bb cream for natural look.

What I don't:
  • Cap loosens after a while, it's always lost in my make-up kit, haha :)
  • It doesn't blur out pores unlike other bb creams.

Will I buy again?
Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Gorgeous Purple is a nice addition to my kikay kit but I would love to get the green variant next. I highly recommend having one bottle in your stash though, it is a must-have for bad skin days or when you just feel like brightening up.

Care to share your favorite bb cream below? :D

Review: Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner

How’s your summer girls? Are you loving it? Well as for me I want to get busy thus I’m currently making my list of ‘must-do’ this vacation. *wink*

My blog has been so prone to hackers lately so if you still get the Attack page’ then that is a boohoo for me. I submitted a request for a review of my website, hopefully it’s already clean now, I did my best to delete the hacker files and restore my site! I was so hopeless when I can’t log-in my dashboard. My only tool is Google and the results it gives, even my hosting can’t help me. :(

I might try to post a quick how to next time on steps I did to recover my blog. I am sad on how foolish people can be. They hack websites just for the mere fun of it. I hope there are not much of broken links as I just reinstalled wordpress again.

Anyway so since my blog is back online (although other pips can’t access it yet due to the warning page) I will post a review of my old favorite: Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner.

Noticed how I added the heart in above photo? Haha… I’m just playing around with our photo editor here. XD

Ingredients: (since it was not fully visible in the shot)
All Natural Witch Hazel, containing natural grain alcohol 14% and Witch Hazel Extract

I am fond of using whitening soaps, unfortunately my face became dry after prolong usage. I can’t use alcohol toners as because it will also contribute to dryness (yes I’m talking about you Eskinol!) So I needed an alternative, something gentle that will keep my skin clean and moisturized. Let me clear that I have enlarged pores, but it’s not really my main concern when I was looking for a new toner. After a long day my usual routine of taking off my make-up:
  1. About 5-10 minutes facial massage of Pure Beauty Perfect Cleansing Liquid to remove all traces of make-up.
  2. Wash off the oil and dirt with Moisturizing Collagen Soap.
  3. With a cotton ball moistened with Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Toner I am sure that my face is squeaky clean.

Did Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner stayed true to it’s promise?
  • Refines pores -With continuous use it might work but do not expect drastic changes. I have enlarged pores so I can see whether a product does tighten pores or not. Hmm… is that a good thing? Lol. At least I’ll know if something is not working, haha.
* ” Witch Hazel is high in tannins. Tannins are found in any natural astringent because of their ability to tighten, dry and harden tissues.”
So as per my research, i can also be used for insect bites, chicken pox etc because it can soothe itchiness. Click here to learn 15 ways of using Witch Hazel.
  • Removes and controls oil -Yes it does remove oiliness and keeps my skin’s moisture. Which is a good thing. I notice that I don’t need to frequently use blotting paper anymore.
  • Soothes Irritation -When I first used Dickinson’s Witch Hazel toner my skin is irritated due to dryness. It indeed helped reduced itchiness. I also used Physiogel cream along with this toner.

Where to buy?

Healthy Options for P79/ 2 oz. bottle, very affordable. It’s their travel size, which is cute compared to it’s original size which is a really big bottle.

PROS

  • Cheap!
  • Effectively cleans despite being non-drying.
  • Refreshes my skin. So perfect for summer!
  • Accessible product, any SM malls with Healthy Options.

CONS
  • Sometimes I don’t like the smell. though it really depends on my mood. LOL.. The scent of this toner is like chesnuts.
Will I repurchase?

Yes, this is an HG material. I still look forward into trying out Hada Lobo but for now Dickinson’s Witch Hazel toner is enough. I am more than loving this product, I might get the astringent version of this too, Soooo excited!

Review: Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Before anything else I want to say sorry to those who have seen the 'hacked' message of Op-Israel. Err...this has been the 3rd time that my blog was hacked and getting it back online is such a big pain.

I just researched and did what I can do. In the positive side I am learning, but not enough reason to get more hacks in the future! I wonder what I can do to secure my website?

Okay so I'll stop blabbering now. Today I'll review my personal favorite- Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque!

I already emptied my tube of Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque even before I publish this, so imagine how long did it take for me to give a review? XD

This tube is big and it took me months to finish, I do not even apply this daily (...and don't! because it can dry out your skin!) The tube is perfect in dispensing the product, just the right amount every time. I apply this mask after a long tiring day, this mask simply makes me feel relaxed, the scent is like Double Mint chewing gum or toothpaste, so refreshing. I think it can even be your perfect summer buddy. I also use this as a spot treatment for pimples. I usually have occasional breakouts when my period is getting near or whenever I feel a bit lazy to remove my make-up (I know this is a big sin! OMY. Don't do this!)

Make sure that you wash your face before using the product. Spread it heavily and evenly to your face (or your neck too if you prefer) make sure that there is enough clay on every part of your face. You will feel that you are ready to wash off the mask when it's already dry. I always sneeze when I have this on because I can inhale it's powder form. LOL. My skin looks fresh and feels clean after washing the mask off. Sometimes I needed to double wash to fully remove every trace of mask on my face.

Okay so above is the ingredients of Queen Helene. Others are scared about methylparaben so I searched and found out that there is nothing to worry about:
"Advocates of organic and natural foods and cosmetics have expressed concerns over the use of parabens in consumer products for years, but there is little evidence to warrant it. While it is true that methylparaben is readily absorbed through the skin as well as in the intestinal tract, it is converted back into para-hydroxybenzoic acid and quickly excreted through urine. In fact, the only negative side effects that have been documented are contact dermatitis and skin sensitivity, both occurring with rare frequency and only in reaction to very high concentrations of test material." -Read more here

Did Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque stayed true to it's promise?

Helps dry up acne pimples
YES! Like what I've said I use this as spot treatment and it does help in minimizing my pimples after about 2-3 applications. I use this hand in hand with my bleaching cream which is also a drying agent for acne. Works like magic.

Rinse away blackheads
Yes and No. It does significantly lessen the appearance of blackheads but it's still there.

Shrink enlarged pores
Yes and No. I have enlarged pores as for your reference. I do notice that my pores seems less noticeable after washing out the product but after a while it gets back to normal.

Where to buy?
Healthy Options for about Php329 per 226.8g/ 8 oz. tube.

PROS:
  • Cheap because there is so much product inside the tube!
  • Works like magic especially in being a spot treatment for pimples.
  • Refreshing and perfect for summer!

CONS:
  • Nothing! :D

Will I repurchase?

Yes! I don't expect this mask to work on pores nor blackheads. For me, the product works the way that it should. I love, love, love this mask. This is the cheapest clay mask I've used so far and I have no complains or whatsoever.

When I first bought this mask I was so excited that I asked everybody at home (my family! XD) to try out the product too. To end this post, here is my pretty mom who says BOO! Teehee~ :))

Review: Diamond Orange Peel & L-Glutathione Soap

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Holiday is almost over, and tomorrow is the start of school's second semester. Time flies too fast. Darn it that I have been used into waking up past eight already.

Today lovelies lets forget about tomorrows as I will praise a new soap I have discovered a few weeks ago. I got this last Watsons sale and I am very happy that I did.
EXFOLIATING, WHITENING, REFINING...
Representing...Diamond Orange Peel and L-Glutathione soap made by Harmony and Wellness. My first lemming was the Glupa soap but since the feedback has not been so good as this I changed my mind. This orange peel soap is a sister soap of carrot shullamite soap which is also raved in GT.

Below is the snapshot of the soap box.

The Look:

This soap weighs 150g. there is no smaller or bigger size than this. As expected the soap is orange in color.

The scent:
Whenever I use this my mama asks me what I product I am currently using. The scent intrigues her because it smells so good. It smells like fresh oranges and I love it! A good reason to take a bath more than once a day. Kekekeke~

The experience:
Bubbles! The soap is pretty bubbly and I like that is like that because I can massage those to my face and body as instructed in the box. At first use it stings but after days of using it my skin eventually became used to it and the sting sensation was gone. There was micropeeling effect in the 4th day (that was fast!) and I noticed that my skin lightened a bit (not dramatic though but its continuous).

There were 2-3 pimples that came out after using this soap but they say its the purging stage so I ignored them. The soap dried and healed them after 3 days and there is no dark acne scars traces left. I noticed too that I became less oily and acidic since I have used this soap.

I am also one of the girls who has open pores and Im glad that my pores tightens every time I use this and I  hope to get better results after prolong use of this.

What's in it?

What makes this soap effective is in the special contents.
  1. Glutathione
  2. Clair Blanche --combination of 7 active ingredients to delay melanin formation and process of pigmentation.
  3. Orange peel extract
  4. Vitamin C
All of this in just one soap? Yes!

The price:
Got this one sale around Php 128 but I think the real price is P148? Correct me if I'm wrong. Gomen ne~ I guess price is reasonable enough because it works and it wont easily melt despite using it twice a day.

As a summary here are the pros and cons:

PROS

  • My scars does lighten with every use.
  • Facial pores tightens.
  • I became less acidic and oily.

CONS

  • The purging stage aka adjustment stage of skin to the new product.
  • Skin dries because the ingredients is drying (moisturizer or lotion is the solution!)
  • Stinging sensation at first usage.

Will I repurchase?
Yes! Along with its popular sister Shullamite soap!

CAUTION!
Dont use this soap along with any bleaching creams, soaps or you'll experience chemical reaction and you will have burnt skin. Be extra cautious when you are using acid soaps.

That's my soaperrific post for today, stay tuned for my bon voyage post next time Lovelies!

Please do comment if you have questions or just to say hello :)

Review: Etude House Sheer Silky bb cream

I have been having a long busy September and I just had to get everything accomplished! I had no luck this past few days just to name a few, this things happened in one single week: I lost my job, the cover group I'm subbing for failed to make it in the contest (talk about no practice days because we lack 2 or 3 members!), I needed to go to the hospital again for a second opinion about my ECG result! (Duh~)

I was itching to replace my Maybelline bb cream because I cant squeeze any product out of its pump anymore! I browsed through online forums and I came to a decision that I want Etude House Precious Mineral bb cream all day-strong #2 aka EH sheer silky bb cream (Ekkk...yesssh a very long name, its a korean product after all). Tons of reviews of this prod in the net are quite convincing so even if it was not my price I still stretched my budget to the limits to get one (700 pesos for a single prod was a big gamble for me).

Anyway for the sake of the people who doesn't know what a bb cream is, this link is for you: What is bb cream? BB cream has more or less the consistency, look and feel of those liquid foundations but this has more magic into it because it has extra benefits such as whitening, healing, brightening, glowing --A few of the new variants has SPF protection as well.

This is how my new EH Precious Minerals Sheer Silky bb cream looks like:

This bb cream is all over the place already so I have decided not to post HD photos and use my oh-so-reliable-webcam-on-mornings for this review.

Let me explain my take on this product  in plain bullet points:
  • The consistency- thicker than my last bb cream which was Maybelline. I find it quite hard to spread despite the fact that I did moisturized prior of its application.
  • The color- Sheer Silky is the fair version which was said to be for oily skin and Sheer Glowing has a darker color which was said to be for dry skin.
Some people had questions "how about people with dark skin and has oily skin?" or "how about people with fair skin but has dry skin?" My opinion was maybe Etude House has thought that most oily people are acidic thus the product they put on their face will oxidize quickly?

(In this photo you'll see that the tube looks battered already, but in it's not! LOL) I tried to apply this at school but to my surprise the cream jump over my head to my shoulder staining my uniform for the day. Hooray for being reckless.

  • The look- it has a nice girly packaging, perhaps because of the price that goes with it. Anyway most products of Etude has this girly look but the cuteness award for packaging should go to Tony Moly, hehe. ^^
  • Sheer silky has a white tube and it has a purple pump that dispenses just the right amount of product you needed but be careful as it is quite tricky at first(read story above^). One complain I have is how the cap is easily removed from its tube. It doesn't lock in place and I always have to look for it in my beauty kit.
  • The name- All day strong. True, it stayed the whole day on my face and blotting only twice is perfect. Byebye touch ups!
  • The effect- As I've said its harder to spread than my first bb cream but as days go by I learned that the way how I put it has effect on how easy or hard my application will be. My pores got smaller and it has a sheer matte finish. I agree with the other blogger that the color of this cream is quite fair -but not the type that will make you look ghostly as it blends with the skin tone after a minute or two.

  • How I use it- I love bb creams as it gives a glowing effect. I was having high expectation with this bb cream actually because its a korean brand but after testing it for a week I can conclude that just like my Maybelline I still need the powers of my mineral foundation from Ellana to achieve that healthy glow that I had before. Since Sheer silky is matte, the glow effect is less than having some other bb cream with a non-matte finish. Glowing and oily may have almost the same feel by the way, but don't be confuse.
  • How much?- This bb cream retails for Php728. It has 60g. of product inside its handy tube.

All in all this Sheer Silky bb cream is worth trying out, I love it but I dont think I really like the matte finish as I love glowing skin effect from bb creams and this one doesn't show it off.

Review: Sophie Martin Magic Pink Cream

Creams and tints are not so common cosmetic before (at least for me!). I still remember seeing girls with tons of powder blush on their cheeks in which is enough for you to say "pahingi naman ng blush mo". LOL. Kidding.

Anyway my post today is about how I found the perfect natural pink flush with Sophie Magic cream.

"Magic Pink is formulated using plant extract. It turns skin into look rosy pink within  minute after application."

I stumbled about this pink cream blush before in sulit and immediately bought one. I am surprised with the good quality of the blush and I was so sure that I'll repurchase. It didn't end there though because of the pink cream I became a member! HOHO. But that doesn't mean I will be bias in doing reviews though. I am blogging to share my honest opinion.

Now lets go to the pros and cons~

PROS

  • It smells like baby powder. LOVE!
  • The flush is natural.
  • The white cream indeed transforms into pink almost right after application.
  • Color is buildable.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • One tube can last 3 months with daily use.
  • Its truly affordable! Regular price is Php70 before but maybe due to high demand they increased the price into Php85. Still a far cry from the price of high-end brands out there.
  • Blush stays all day! Can withstand the hot humid weather and oily skin!
  • Cute pocket friendly packaging.

CONS

  • Sadly this has parabens.
  • Only available in sophie martin dealers(LIKE ME!) or other online shops.

I am actually on my 2nd tube right now. Its one of my HG cream blushes, perfect as is or as a base for your other powder blushes! Its a must-try!

Have you tried this cream blush before? Do you like it?
