Review: Herbench Pretty when Pinched Cheek and Lip Tint

Long ago, in a faraway place, there lived a lovely princess named Snow White. Her hair was black as coal, her lips red as rose, and her skin as white as snow.
We all know how beautiful Snow White is and I admit I once dream of becoming like her. Now it's not so impossible after we get a pinch of color on our cheeks! Rosy cheeks + rosy lips = Snow White look, yes? :)

Herbench Pretty when Pinched Cheek and Lip Tint is already a famous lip tint to start with. I bought one on a whim because I love the product swatch.

I can't capture a shot of my own tint now because it doesn't look presentable anymore
As you can see the product is inside a glass bucket nail polish type packaging. It is delicate and can break easily so you need to be extra careful if you have this inside your kikay kit. Sadly because of my own carelessness I broke mine and I lost half of the product amount *sad*. I can only use it now before I go out because it will surely make a mess inside my kit if I attempt to bring it along with me.

My Experience:

Herbench tint is scary purplish red inside the glass bucket but when swatched the color is soft reddish pink and oh-so buildable. It is oil free and and a water type of tint but not so runny. It doesn't clog my pores when used as a cheek tint and it doesn't dry out my lips when I use it as a lip tint. You don't need to hurry when applying this because it doesn't dry fast but you still need to become careful to blend it well to avoid red streaks which is common for tints. Herbench Pretty when Pinched tint doesn't last long both on cheeks and lips but the color is lovely and I don't mind reapplication!

How I use it: I use this on top of my bb cream usually as lip and cheek tint, perfect for natural make-up look.
How much: P180/ 40 ml in Bench stores nationwide

What I love:
It's an affordable and accessible product.
A little goes a long way.
Has no weird taste nor smell

What I don't:
It doesn't last long especially on the lips.
Package is made of glass :(

Will I buy again?
YES! I totally love this tint despite the fact that it doesn't last long. Herbench tint's color and no fuss application wins me over. This is an affordable tint that delivers! :)

Ayo sisses, can you shout out your favorite lip and cheek tint below?

Review: Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Gorgeous Purple

Hello Rainy Sunday! I am happy that it's raining because it means that it'll be less hot in Manila. Just this morning I just registered my subjects for this semester. I think summer days will pass faster now.
I don't really have the time to update my blog because of my sideline job online for summer so while I have the extra free moments I'll review a bb cream I got on sale in Beauty Bazaar months ago. -Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Gorgeous Purple. This is meant to be used to even out and brighten skin tone. They also have a green variant for skin trouble and redness but basically both are:
Blemish balm
Vitamin care
Make-up Base

Kyaa bb cream again! Yeesh~ What sold me on Liole bb cream is the fact that it can be used as a make-up base. I was curious on how my bb creams will look on top of another bb make-up base. I love the purple princessy packaging because it's classy and chic looking. It comes in a pump so it is hygienic. This is made in Korea, I read somewhere that this can pass up as a CC cream (supercharged bb cream version) because of the coverage. Okay so enough of my endless blabbering hahaha, here is my review:

My Experience:

This bb cream has the thickest texture among the bb creams that I tried. The color is whitish purple with really really small particles which changes into the color of skin your tone after blending. I must agree with the thoughts of other bloggers that the concept of the product is quite gimmicky, because how can the purple tone of the bb cream correct the yellowness of your skin when the color changes when it is blended? Oh well~ nonetheless I still like this product. Because texture is thick, a little product goes a long way, awesome!

Going back, Lioele Dollish veil has this floral kinda soapy scent which I love. Its a really light scent which is pleasant. I usually use this alone or on top of my moisturizer. It doesn't really spread easily so you need to have a properly moisturized face prior to the usage of this product. Yes I've also tried this as a make-up base for my bb cream but unfortunately it feels heavy for my taste.

The finish of Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB is matte, it's perfect for the humid weather like this summer. It has SPF 25 PA ++ and I think it can be a good as a substitute for sunblock but the moisturizer I use contains SPF as well. One application instantly brightens up my complexion but maybe it's also because of the fact that it is lighter than my skin tone. I don't see the need for concealer because of the coverage, it doesn't completely cover my dark spots and redness but it makes them less noticeable. I also don't get oily thanks to the formula and the product's matte finish.

My pores aren't covered well unlike with other bb creams with dewy or satin finish. Topping off this bb cream with finishing powder (although optional since finish is already matte) makes a difference though. I didn't experienced skin break outs nor whiteheads and blackheads, which I happen to get every time I use bb creams. The product stays the whole day although I still need to check on my oily nose once in a while.
The final look of this bb cream alone is next to natural, it's just like having a lighter skin tone or you can also call it your second skin. A make-up that doesn't look like make-up. Amaaaazing!

How much?
Price is around P1,280/ 30 ml. UPDATE! The price is now only P950 at Beautymnl

Where to buy?
Lioele kiosks in the malls, online shops or in their website: Lioeleph

To summarize my review...
What I love:
  • Lovely princessy packaging.
  • The floral scent!
  • Coverage is awesome.
  • Matte finish doesn't make me oily.
  • It doesn't break me out.
  • Does it job as it brightens skin instantly.
  • Perfect bb cream for natural look.

What I don't:
  • Cap loosens after a while, it's always lost in my make-up kit, haha :)
  • It doesn't blur out pores unlike other bb creams.

Will I buy again?
Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB Gorgeous Purple is a nice addition to my kikay kit but I would love to get the green variant next. I highly recommend having one bottle in your stash though, it is a must-have for bad skin days or when you just feel like brightening up.

Care to share your favorite bb cream below? :D

Review: Yoko Yogurt Spa Milk Salt

Summer is ending too soon. Why oh why?~
We will all be saying hello to more traffic jams on the opening of the classes. LOL. Anyway since there is nothing we can do to stop the time, let's just enjoy the days left before school days!

Today I want to share with you one of the products I consider HG in my beauty regimen. I am not a big fan of body scrubs before but I already use face towel/ bath cloth and soap to exfoliate, yeah the traditional way of scrubbing. :)

Did you know? "Exfoliating your entire body can help prevent body acne in many places below your neck, such as the chest, back and arms. It also might help you avoid ingrown hairs by preventing dead skin cells from plugging up follicles where you've shaved or waxed. And it can help even out skin tone and keep your skin hydrated and soft." Read more: HERE.

Now it is really important to do a body scrub once or twice a week. So while shopping in Watsons I came across this scrub. Packaging and promised benefits is quite similar to Abonne salt scrub but I chose Yoko  instead.

yoko yogurt spa salt
First edit in Photo On cyworld editor! Had a mistake with setting the photo quality. Hohoho~

What Yoko Yogurt Spa Milk Salt promises?
Yogurt Spa Milk Salt is for skin whitening, enriched Vitamin E, natural salt benefits, protein from milk and yogurt. It provides nourishment to your skin with Milk and Yogurt. It also removes dirt deposit and dead skin cells from your body, giving you a new and radiant skin.
It is manufactured by: Siam Yoko Co.LTD, made in Thailand!
Ingredients: Sodium sesquicarbonate, sodium chloride (NaCI), milk, Vitamin E, Glycerine, Olive Oil,Yogurt extract, Vitamin B3, Collagen

My Experience:

Yoko Spa Milk Salt is my very first salt scrub. I am fond of taking long baths so using a scrub does not make much difference in my bathing time. I tried the Pink Yogurt variant and it smells like candy for me. The salt is pink and quite grainy. Sometimes I hurt myself if I make a mistake of scrubbing harder than usual or if there are sharp bits of salt which is usual.

I had scars on my arms from chicken pox and I thought that since this is a whitening scrub it can help in diminishing those scars. I really don't know what exactly I was thinking before but I use it on my arms on 7 consecutive days. On the 7th day I realized that the chicken pox scars is about 95% gone. Definitely not magic but it worked! I was surprised and since then I included this in my HGs. I didn't use moisturizing lotions or soaps during those 7 days. I am not really recommending my method since it does hurt and dries skin but it's something I did that gave results. Although Yoko Yogurt Spa Salt is drying it will still give you fresh, soft and smooth skin every after use. Nowadays I already use lotion to add in moisture.

How I use it: I lather my triple whitening soap then I apply the Yoko Spa Salt scrubbing gently in circular motion. I let the salt sit on my skin for about 5 minutes then I rinse it off.

How much: P68 in Watsons and P36 in Divisoria and Unitop for 300 grams. I can swear it's the same product despite the price difference. :)

What I love:
  • The candy scent
  • It simply delivers its promise!
  • Affordable and effective

What I don't:
  • The packaging because the zip lock doesn't work on spa salts. It won't close properly so I use clothes pin (sipit) instead! haha :)

Will I buy again?
Yoko Spa Salt is in my HG list. I am going to try their other variants as well. I am finished with cucumber and milk and both were as good as the yogurt although of course yogurt will still be my favorite.

Yeorebun (everyone) what product are you using as body scrub? Let me know in your comments! :)

My Summer 2013 Essentials

So I was invited to a company outing to Matabungkay Beach in Batangas. We didn't stay long, it's a fast overnight. But I am glad that I manage to see the sand, sea and the sun before the summer ends. Here is what I brought along with me:
Starting from upper left to right -ZA 2 way foundation, shades, glasses
From bottom right to left -wallet, sunblock cream SPF 45, SBF Collagen Ivory cream, Gluta-C Body Lotion, Nivea lip balm, Etude House concealer and Avon Simply Pretty Lip and Cheek Tint.

Does it sound too much for summer essentials? Oh well~ ZA foundie is a really light powder that simply mattifies look. I was actually leaning to less make-up because we were in the beach! Of course let us not forget about the need for shades and my eye glasses. I usually use eye lenses but I can't swim wearing them so I opt to just bring along my glasses instead. How I wish I can do Lasik Eye Surgery in the future.

Then there is my wallet, actually it is a small make-up kit from Ellana Minerals which I thought would be put to a better use if used as a wallet. Hehe :) I have two sunblock creams for the face, one with SPF 45 and the other one (SBF Collagen) with SPF 25. The SBF Collagen is a beige colored cream, it instantly brightens up my face whenever I use it thus perfect for summer where I don't want to put on too much products.

I also brought my trusted Etude House concealer to cover acne if one comes up. I also have Avon tint for long lasting natural blushing cheeks and Nivea lip balm to avoid looking sick, my mom says I have pale lips. For the body I have Gluta-C lotion, I used this as my sunblock and my sunburn is next to none. I really won't even know I had sunburn if my mom hasn't told me about it because it was barely noticeable!

So again while using the photo editor I mistakenly set it to 400px. which made my originally 1200px. photo smaller. Arrgg~

This is me before we went swimming!
My Lovely readers, care to share the place you spent your summer? Don't feel shy to leave a comment, I don't eat people! :)

Hello Venus asks: Would you like some tea?

Venus, What are you Doing Today? and now Would you like some tea? Crazy titles for a song IMO. Today is the date for the comeback of Hello Venus. This time they have a retro style concept for their MV but they have the same checkered style for their costumes! The heck with Pledis giving almost all of the budget to N'uest *sobs*. LOL Kidding. However I really noticed that there's just a little progress with the costume. I do hope next time they can come up with a better ideas.

Would you like some tea is the title track of their mini album. The start of the song includes a classic instrumental which I found out to be 'Variation of the Kanon'. It's a pop song just like their Venus and What are you Doing Today release but I still find their comeback unique. I was surprised that they have managed to incorporate cool dance steps into the song because it's quite mellow taking to consideration the other comeback of other kpop idol groups.

The concept really fits everyone especially Yoo Ara, she really stood up this time with her charming positive vibes. But don't get me wrong, every member of Hello Venus is already pretty it's just that Ara has this 'spark' on her, if that's what I should call it.

They all look completely different now compared to their Venus debut (Ara as an exception, hoho~) They all changed their hairstyles which made the comeback oh-so-fresh! :)

It's so nice to see Nara with bangs instead of a wig, Yoonjo's pinkish orange hair, the forever platinum blonde hair of Alice and the newly colored, cut and styled hair of Yooyoung. I'm not so happy with Lime's transformation because I still love her with mint-colored hair. I'm still getting used to her new hair-do. Bleh~ :)

Most comeback nowadays are either fierce, sexy or hip hop so this is a really different concept worth venturing into. All in all, I am seeing a brighter future ahead of Hello Venus! :)

Here is their MV, care to have some tea while watching?

PS: I have been hooked with kpop comebacks! I promise to do a product review on my next post. *wink*
