Review: Maxi-Peel Zero

It's the start of the week again, and I've always kept in mind a line by Spongebob: "Another day, another dollar!" I started the week by being productive and reviewing a new product, Maxi-Peel Zero.

My red days are synonymous with bad skin days. I have been having breakouts recently and hope this product won't disappoint. Me and my sister are avid users of Maxi-Peel (the astringent version). I swear it worked because we had good skin for a while. The bad thing is that there is a rest period due to the harsh formula of Maxi-Peel. During the rest period, our skin is not so good. We also noticed that our skin turns red easily skin turned darker. That is the good and the bad of Maxi-Peel. Anyway, here comes Maxi-Peel Zero right when we need it.

What is it?
Maxi-Peel Zero is:
  • Micro Exfoliant Liquid
  • Anti-acne
  • Smoothening
  • Lightening
  • Cleanses without redness
  • Exfoliates without peeling

Their official page says:

It also helps lighten the discoloration of the skin, such as sun spots, age spots, acne marks, and blemishes. Freckles/Pekas will improve or lighten as you continue to use Maxi-Peel Zero Micro-Exfoliant Fluid. For deep acne scars and warts, best to consult a dermatologist.

Packaging

Experience
Based on Maxi-Peel's FB page, if you are currently using Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Solution and wants to shift to Maxi-Peel Zero Fluid, it is recommended to observe a 5-7 days rest period first.

Maxi-Peel Zero is supposed to act like a regular cleanser. I use it after washing my face and using Micellar water to remove extra gunk on my face.

As expected Maxi-Peel Zero still contains and smells like alcohol, but it's not as strong as the old Maxi-Peel we all know. I use one cotton ball to apply it to my skin in an upward motion. There is no tingling sensation on my part nor a burning feeling on the part of my face where I have acne.

My skin also doesn't feel tight. It simply feel and look fresh. I apply Aloe Vera gel afterward as a moisturizer. Nowadays, I try to put on less products as possible.

After a week of usage, I can say that my pores are finer. My skin looks lighter too. The bad news is that it causes purging and it doesn't dry them out fast compared to Maxi-Peel astringent. Maxi-Peel is a gentler version so I understand if it doesn't work like its old counterpart. Pimples are not as inflamed when I was not using Maxi-Peel Zero. My face also felt smooth to touch.

The color of the liquid is whitish-yellow. Whenever I use it, my face looks shiny face. Yes, it is still drying but it didn't darken my face. In fact, on my 3rd day, I noticed a fairer skin tone than before.

How much and where to buy it?
I got mine at P79 in Watsons or you can buy it at P75 at HBC or Mercury Drugstores.

What I love
  • Refined pores
  • Smoother skin
  • Ease inflamed pimples
  • Lightened skin
  • It did not darken my face
  • Affordable
  • I can buy it anywhere
What I don't
  • Purging stage
  • It still has the scent of alcohol in it
  • Dries my skin
TIPS
I had a hard time following this rule myself but do not ever try to pop up your pimple during the purging stage. Doing so will just make things worst. I have an inflamed king pimple right now. Sigh~

Will I repurchase it?
Yes. I just did! :)

Overall~
Maxi-Peel Zero is indeed a gentler version of Maxi-Peel. It stays true to all its claims which is a great reason to make the switch!

Review: Clear Nose Blackhead Remover from Thailand

Blackheads is one of the most common skin problem both by men and women alike. Even my boyfriend thinks so too! We even tried using different blackhead remover masks lately, it was fun but so far the results were not so impressive. In accordance to that for today I will review Clear Nose Blackhead remover.

What is it?
Clear Nose which is also called Gel Hut Mun White is a white cream meant for removing both blackheads and whiteheads. It comes with a set of around 45pcs of paper. I seriously haven't seen much reviews about this product yet so here we go.

 Packaging
Since it came in a small plastic bottle, I was thinking that it should also come with a spatula or something, but I can't complain. This stuff is pretty cheap already. I just shake it well before getting some product using a q-tip. Not on pictures it has a protective plastic lid inside to keep the product from spilling and drying out. It also includes about 45 pcs of paper. I am not sure what kind of paper they are but they have vertical lines and a teeny bit smells like powder.

I am not so sure what is the ingredients though. The problem with most of the trending products right now is that it lacks english translations.

Experience
The cream smells like a medicinal product, not minty but it kinda puts me to a mood like I want to sleep. We are not limited to our noses because we can also use it on other parts of our face as well. The product's ad shows really good results but I am not easily swayed by ads, hoho~

I have no high expectations because Clear Nose is cheap. I mean come on I've tried a lot already. When using this product make sure to shake the bottle first before application using a q-tip. Its not a very thick cream though, its still liquidy and drips easily. I was wondering why do they need to include paper, why not just make the liquid more like a cream like the normal blackhead removers?

Anyway just the same of course I tried it. I won't post photos of myself although I have it, the lighting at home is bad and I look awful lol. Just to compensate though the results is below, behold!

WARNING: Gross blackheads when zoomed!

Isn't that a lot?! I was very very amazed with the results and I cannot believe with how many blackheads it managed to get from my nose. Sorry for the gross photos, it was satisfying to see that it removed so much. All this time I was thinking blackhead removal is a big joke especially if I use commercially available nose packs etc, but Clear Nose Black Head Remover proved me wrong.

There are also fake Clear Nose as I've read from other users and it has a different kind of paper included. They say its more of glossy and it doesn't have the vertical lines like the real ones. The thing is, I am not sure how to tell if its effective or not.

How much and where to buy?
There is no official shops for Clear Nose but there are a lot of this online, shop. The price ranges from from Php 80 above.

What I love
  • Very affordable
  • Very effective in blackhead/whitehead removal
  • Scent is good
  • Peeling off doesn't hurt as much as other nose packs I've used
  • No itchy feeling after usage
What I don't
  • Doesn't say ingredients
  • Lacks english translation
TIPS
Shake well before using
You may use a q-tip or a small spatula to apply it to your nose

Will I repurchase?
A big fat YES!!!

Overall~
Clear Nose Blackhead Remover (Gel Hut Mun White) deserves a round of applause for being very effective yet cheap. I seriously didn't imagine using a blackhead remover product which delivers amazing results. Where was Clear Nose all of this time?

Review: The Face Shop Kakao Watery Tint in 04

Happy Tuesday! this is what keeping me busy nowadays ~ *drumroll*
Oh-some MNL! If you may ask, yes its an online shop for awesome korean skincare items I've tried, not yet reviewed here in my blog. I hope I get to spread the aim for better skin by using natural and gentle products.

For today we are reviewing The Face Shop Kakao Watery Tint in 04. This is actually my friend's lip tint by the way, but due to liking it a lot I will be getting one for myself soon.

What is it?
This tint contains milk and natural oils that creates a moisturizing shield over the lips,giving them a healthy look.

Color:
#01 Pink Vela,#02 Coralster,#03 Orange scene,#04 Red up,# 05 Racing Pink,# 06 Rose Garden

Size: 5g

How to use:
  • Dispense an adequate amount and apply to the lips.
  • Create a natural gradient by concentrating on the inner lips and allowing color to fade towards the edges.

Packaging
Plastic tube is sturdy and it has cute Kakao characters on it! I forgot to take a picture but just like typical lip tints it has a doe foot applicator as well.

Experience
My impression of The Face Shop is that it only sells expensive items until I came to know that they offer items at par with Etude House. Remember my review on their Jeju Aloe Vera Fresh Soothing Gel?

First thing we should know, is if Kakao Watery Tint is scented? Yes it is. Its like a sweet scent but when applied it doesn't have any taste. Usually lip tints have this bitter taste and if its too liquidy it transfers on my teeth, yikes. One thing we should know is that the consistency is like watery gel. It doesn't slip once applied and dries just as fast as we spread it on. Below is a swatch.

Its not too watery and not oily but it lasts after a whole meal. My friend who owns this product also only retouches on the end of the day.

On the lips only one swipe, around 2-3 dots is good. The Face Shop Kakao Watery Tint is really pigmented and the color is very bright red. On cheeks maybe 1-2 dots will do, make sure to blend quickly.

Here is a lip snap after eating. My lips is still red! Awesome. Sorry for not taking a full blown face shot though.

How much and where to buy?
P360 for a 5g tube and available at The Face Shop kiosks nationwide.

What I love
  • Tint is very pigmented
  • Sweet scent
  • Creamy gel form
  • No bitter taste
  • Doesn't dry out lips
  • No minty feeling when applied
  • Long lasting even after eating
  • Not blotchy looking on my lips
  • Spreads easily
What I don't

  • Nothing I can mention

TIPS
Apply on top of similar shade lip stick. It will stay so much longer!

Will I repurchase?
Well this awesome thing is my friend's actually but trying it out makes me want to buy one. I also want to try their other shades!

Overall~
I have a lot of lip products already but The Face Shop Kakao Watery Tint makes me think I need more. Due to the poor lasting power of the usual tints and my often busy days I've came to dislike tints, but The Face Shop makes me rethink otherwise.

~~~
I wanna try MISSHA Poptastic Jelly Tint in Salsa Red, its like brick red or something like brownish red shade which looks really flattering on any skin tone.
Annnnd yes here is the link to my online shop again, yay!
💕~Oh-some MNL~💕
Review: Pilaten Blackhead Remover
Happy Monday! God has let the blessings rain for a while lately, and with that I am thankful.
Anyway for today will be a quick review about a trending product meant to address one of the most common skin problem of girls and boys alike: Pilaten Blackhead Remover. This product is all over facebook and buy & sell websites.
What is it?
A black gel meant to remove blackheads and whiteheads. This is obviously from China, no english translations for the ingredients. I was wondering what it contains? The instructions is in english though.
Instructions: After cleansing apply it evenly onto blackheads and wait about 30 minutes before tearing it off.
Packaging
I got it in sachet pack by 10's but I am not sure if they sell it in tubes.
Experience
I honestly just bought Pilaten Blackhead remover out of plain curiosity. The other product of Pilaten which is the Hair Remover cream is selling like pancakes which is why I got this also with my purchase. I have history of experiencing itchy skin when using nose strips.
To compare, the black gel of Pilaten is more liquidy compared to iWhite (well that was the last nose strip I've used). I had a hard time on applying it because it drips. It also takes a while to dry, like 30 minutes or so and I cannot do layers on the product to thicken it. Thicker product means easier removal later on. The scent is nice which I can't describe and there is no minty feeling while I had it on.
Soooo did it work? Sadly no. It did lift a few of my blackheads but I can count them with my fingers. Its not as effective as it claims to be.
How much and where to buy?
Online, cheapest is around P5 per sachet.
What I love
  • Scent
  • Minimize pores
  • Temporarily whitens
  • Cheap
  • Doesn't hurt when peeled off
  • did not break me out
What I don't
  • Doesn't effectively remove blackhead
  • No ingredient list
Will I repurchase?
No. There are better options out there.
Overall~
Not all trending products are good which is proved by Pilaten Blackhead remover. Since ingredients is not listed we can't be sure what is inside. I just ordered Clearnose Blackhead Remover so stay tuned for that. See you in my next posts!
>>Is it just me or facebook is loaded with too much sponsored posts lately?
Here is what I use to detoxify, Green Tea in a bottle! They also have Jasmine tea variant, which is also oishii~ (delicious) [photo is year old, sorry]
