Review: iWhite Nose Pack & Pore Purifying Balm

Annyeong! I just want to share that I've just finished watching  W-2 Worlds Final Episode 16 today. Breaks my heart to see how it ended, its like a bittersweet ending really. To those who likes korean dramas, I highly recommend that you watch it. Its a drama with a very unique plot and never ending twist and turns.

YAY so off to our review for today, actually since they are meant to be used together I would be also reviewing them at the same time. *Drum roll~*  The review today is about iWhite Nose Pack & iWhite Pore Purifying Balm.

I haven't used iWhite Nose Pack in ages. My blackheads is not as bad as before, but my boyfriend would like to get rid of his nose blackheads. Why not let him try? I bet this can be an experience for guys who doesn't give attention to their skin. Oh well, boyfie's skin is already nice and flawless to start with. WTH, and he doesn't even need to take care of it as much as I do! Very confusing, why oh why, and here we are, jumping from one product to another.

Anyhow iWhite Pore Purifying Balm is a new addition the skincare line of iWhite. I was quite doubtful on what it is or what difference it can make to the effect of the old nose pack so I took the plunge. We are so lucky that they sell it in individual packs/sachets so just in case it doesn't work on us it won't cost us too much.

What is it?
iWhite says:  Pore Purifying Balm helps remove stubborn pore clogging oils, dirt and toxins

Packaging
Again, similar to the iWhite 2 Minute Miracle Whitening Mask I've only seen the Pore Purifying Balm in sachets. The iWhite Nose pack on the other hand is available on tube packaging.

Experience
First things first, iWhite Pore Purifying Balm is whitish gel which gave our noses the warm sensation after application.

After one minute, we massaged the product which turned pale white. I applied the product on my T-zone and a bit on my cheeks. Warm warm warm~

Badudum~ after wiping off our noses clean with the Purifying balm, here comes the nosepack.
Boyfie kinda said that the iWhite nosepack smells like alcohol. It felt nice and cool to apply it after the pore balm. As always the iWhite nosepack is still as sticky as ever. Its a bit messy to apply to be honest. Its recommended to apply the product thickly so it will be easy to peel it off later. While waiting I felt the urge to scratch my nose, uh-well its itchy, did anyone felt the same?

Boyfie never tried nose packs or nose strips before, so this is something new for him. Who knows removing blackheads can be a bonding time? Yay. Nose packs are awesome nose savers which makes removing icky dirt like blackheads or whiteheads easier to remove.

And so we applied the nosepack right after the Pore Purifying Balm. Credits to boyfie's nose, hohoho~
So after the waiting time we removed it from the tip of noses, peeling the mask off upwards. There were whiteheads both from my nose and a bit from my cheeks. Same with boyfie, he was amazed with what the iWhite nose pack removed from his nose.

How much and where to buy?
Pore Purifying Balm & nose pack is both P18 pesos each sachet.
For the iWhite Nose Pack which is available in tube its only P199

What I love

  • Affordable
  • Effective on nasty whiteheads (not blackheads though)
  • Did not broke me out
  • No irritations

What I don't

  • Messy to apply
  • Nose pack smells like alcohol
  • Makes my nose itchy
Will I repurchase?
Maybe

Overall~
iWhite Nose Pack & Pore Purifying Balm goes hand in hand for easy whiteheads removal but does nothing on blackheads. I fely itchy with the nosepack but its bearable, I might try other brands to see how it fares with iWhite nosepack. For the mean time you might want to try it out, its cheap and gets rid with whiteheads with just measly P18! That is better than forcing to get the gunk out yourself? Yes?

Update: I used Palty Milk Tea Bubble version for my hair last night. Want to see it? Catch me on my next review! : )

Review: iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle

The week passes by so quickly nowadays. Is it because we are all anticipating for the weekends? This post has been in my drafts for a while. I bought iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle thinking that it was just a normal whitening mask. However there is more to it, read on:

What is it?
iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle is a specially formulated mask that gives the skin a healthy dose of whitening care with all natural active ingredients. Within 2 minutes of application, your skin receives pampering through active skin brightening nourishment, hydration and relaxation. This mask also helps in the prevention and reduction of acne and controls excessive oiliness while keeping the skin moisturized.

Active Ingredients:
Limonia Acidissima Extract, Lonicera Caprifolium Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (Aloe Vera Leaf Extract)

Packaging
Right now I haven't seen a tube version so only sachets are only available for now. The packaging is simple and stays true iWhite's girly vibe.

Directions:

  1. On clean & dry face apply on your face avoiding the eye area.
  2. Leave for 2 minutes until the gel's texture is watery.
  3. Once the mask starts to liquify massage on circular motion.

Experience
At first I was thinking that iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle is in a white cream form similar to their nose pack. However surprise surprise, its in gel form!

The product smells like subtle fresh scent. When applied I immediately felt that it gives hydration to my skin. I didn't even know what it means by exfoliation until the 2 minutes waiting time ended. I slowly massaged my face with the dried watery gel then little white blobs which seems to be dead skin appeared. 'I use facial scrub 2-3 times a week so what is this?' as I am dumb founded with amazement that its no ordinary facial mask.

While washing it off I was so surprised because my skin was so smooth! It was never that smooth before. My face looks brighter and its so fascinating what a gentle exfoliator can do. I was really planning to buy Cure Aqua Gel but its expensive for me at the moment. I am saying that this 2 Minute Whitening Miracle can be a good alternative for it. I cannot say the difference because I didn't tried the latter yet.

I didn't used too much in one application so I guess I can use it for about 3 times.

How much and where to buy?
P24.50 per 8ml sachet in Watsons

What I love
  • Subtle fresh scent
  • Gentle exfoliation
  • Skin felt sooooo smooth while rinsing
  • Brightens face
  • Hydrates
  • didn't break me out
  • no irritation
  • Affordable
What I don't

  • Nothing I can mention
TIPS
If you use this, skip on facial scrub or there will be to much exfoliation already

Will I repurchase?
YES!

Overall~
iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle is indeed miracle in a gel. Its a very nice gentle exfoliator that doubles up as whitening mask. I cannot attest the whitening effect yet but its so fun to use! Its best to use this twice a week in place of your facial scrub.

What is your favorite face exfoliator/scrub right now? Share with us in the comments! :)

Review: TONYMOLY Cover Pot Concealer Face Mix

Annyeong hi pretty lady! Today is a Saturday and its raining outside. I want to build the good vibes around here, my mood is pretty gloomy lately. Anyhow for today I will be reviewing my current concealer which I bring everyday, TONYMOLY Cover Pot Concealer Face Mix.

What is it?
TONYMOLY Cover Pot Concealer Face Mix is in 4g pot available in only 2 shades which are 01 Light Beige and 02 Natural beige.

Major Ingredients: Lotus Extract, Marine Collagen, Ceramide

  • Mild and perfect coverage without thick feeling
  • Long lasting fit cover strong on sebum sweat and tears
  • Soft application with silky coverage on wrinkles or on op of white heads.
How to use:
Apply small amount on blemishes or area needed.
For more coverage use concealer brush to apply

Credits: Koreadepart

Packaging
It looks glass to me but its plastic. The shade number is at the bottom of the pot but there is no ingredient list nor translations.

Experience
I got TONYMOLY Cover Pot Concealer Face Mix in  shade 02. Natural Beige is a fair beige with yellow undertone. I think the 01 shade is for brightening the under eye. I avoid buying lighter color for my concealer because it highlights my dark spots instead of hiding them. For red marks I still recommend green concealers. Make sure to moisturize prior to using this concealer because it may be patchy if you have dry skin.

The consistency is smooth and very easy to spread. It is creamy which means the pigmentation is sheer. I guess I will like it better if has more of a dry formula. I only use my fingers on application and I can say the coverage is decent but is not so buildable. With brush I think heavy coverage is possible. I use it sparingly on my under eye area but it quickly creases though. The concealer melts at the end of the day so I need to bring it so I can reapply.

How much and where to buy?
P248 for a 4g pot. You can buy this in Tonymoly kiosks nationwide or online shops like Althea

What I love

  • Creamy consistency which makes it easy to blend
  • The shade 02 is perfect
  • Medium coverage enough for slight dark marks
  • Doesn't break me out
  • Affordable
  • Accessible product, available in Tonymoly shops and kiosks nationwide
  • Not cakey
What I don't

  • It creases quickly on my under eye

TIPS
Use brush for heavy coverage

Will I repurchase?
No

Overall~
This is  my first Tonymoly concealer and I want to try their other variants. I recommend this to students and girls in a budget who wants an everyday concealer. If you only need medium coverage, very few marks to cover and you want to let your skin breathe, then TONYMOLY Cover Pot Concealer Face Mix is the product for you.

What is your favorite concealer right now? Let me know in the comments.

Annyeong! Happy weekend!~

Review: Milk Essence Whitening Beauty

I dropped by Trinoma months back with a friend when I found this lotion. I use leg foundation sometimes when I wear skirts or shorts. But I've also tried Moist lotion before, which I reviewed here. Because it was sticky, I stopped using it. Until a friend recommended Milk Essence Whitening Beauty Lotion. I've seen other girls also use this on their face. But I am quite sensitive to thick consistency products so I will skip that.

What is it?
To put it simply, Milk Essence Whitening Beauty is an instant whitening lotion. You may read their description, this is the back of the box.

 Packaging

Nothing much notable with the box, but there is no ingredients list. I can't see the manufacturing date but the expiration date is printed.

The Milk Essence Whitening Beauty bottle.

The bottle has nothing on it too, it says it contains vitamin C and milk, but there is still no ingredients list.

ExperienceMilk Essence Whitening Beauty is a pretty popular product, a lot are asking about it which is same with Moist Lotion.

The product is fluid like and it can instantly whiten the skin. Yes its tinted and just like Moist lotion the effect is of course only temporary. Its a bit sticky and not recommended to be used during humid days. If weather is okay, it stays the whole day until I wash it off. I actually needed to rinse it twice because one wash is not enough to remove the lotion.

I like to use this when I wear shorts and I need that extra 'oomph' of glow. I do like how it makes my legs look fair. Luckily it doesn't transfer as much like moist lotion on clothes. It says you can use it on the face but since I am sensitive to face products I would rather use it on my legs only instead.

See the effect on pale skin, see how it brightens with a little amount of product.

On darker skin tone.

How much and where to buy?
I think I got it for P160/100 ml bottle from Pop up store in Trinoma but I think you can also get it Lazada at P189.

What I love

  • The instant whitening effect
  • Little goes a long way
  • Brightens skin
  • Dries quickly
  • Long lasting
  • Doesn't transfer on clothes
  • Affordable

What I don't

  • Ingredients not listed
  • Not waterproof
  • No translation
  • No manufacturer's name & origin
Will I repurchase?
No.

Overall~
I've decided to use whitening soaps and lotions instead of tinted ones. Milk Essence Whitening Beauty Lotion good for instant whitening and I did not experienced irritation, however the ingredients is not listed nor the manufacturer's name which is the reason why I just cannot recommend it to everyone. You may use it at your own discretion especially if you have sensitive skin.

Review: Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation

Good day pretty! An inspirational quote for today, mistakes are proof that you are trying! Yes and no matter how hard you day or week has been at the end of the day just think that life goes on.

Maybelline currently has this 25% sale for their Dream series foundation on until Sep 30, 2016. That is why I think I should review my former favorite Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation. I already reviewed MaybellineDream Velvet Foundation in case you haven't read it yet. So here we go~

What is it?
DREAM SATIN SKIN LIQUID FOUNDATION
Air-whipped liquid foundation for satin-smooth, poreless skin
With its lightweight formula that looks and feels just like your skin, the Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation gives your skin an airbrush effect so it looks effortlessly satin-smooth and poreless.

Packaging
Its in a sturdy glass bottle with a very cute pump and a plastic cap. Its a bit heavy to lug around in my small kit.

Experience
I am honestly more of a BB cream person rather than liquid foundation. Oh well, I like BB creams because its an all in one product plus it even offers high SPF. I had this foundation for a while now in B2 (I'm shade NC 25 btw) but I haven't had the chance to use it daily because I prefer my BB cream. Uh-oh not until I read an article that instructs to spray facial mist and use liquid foundation right after for a pore-less and long-lasting finish.

Guess what? After trying it out, I am in love. Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation makes my pores less obvious and it melts into a dewy finish. I also applied powder foundation and it sets nicely. Its not oily, didn't cake and didn't broke me out. The coverage is buildable from medium to heavy. For redness though you may still need to apply concealer. I prefer applying it using my fingers but I might try buying a sponge soon, I found one in Miniso, hohoho~ I don't bring this with me because its heavy and it might break if I always have it. I am a magnet for falling objects.

Just like any other liquid foundations, Maybelline Dream Satin adheres to the skin longer and better compared to powder foundations so make sure to use makeup remover to get rid of the product completely.

How much and where to buy?
On sale at P374 per 30ml bottle. I got it at the regular price of 499 though. Huehue~

What I love

  • Wallet friendly
  • Buildable medium to heavy coverage
  • Doesn't cake
  • Melts into dewy finish
  • Long lasting
  • Didn't broke me out
  • Blurs pores
  • No scent
  • Sun protection, its SPF 24
What I don't
  • I'm not a fan of glass packaging

TIPS
Try using powder on top for a flawless finish

Will I repurchase?
Yes I want to but they release Dream Velvet, and I like it better

Overall~
I recommend Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation to girls with dry skin because it can moisturize your skin while still providing coverage. For oily to combo skin you may want to try the Dream Velvet variant because its very lightweight and provides awesome coverage as well.

Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation in action.

Review: Palty Hair Color in Milk Tea Brown

Good day girls! Today I would be sharing you my Palty Hair Color in Milk Tea Brown Review. I remember my little sister with her ash blonde hair and its a really nice color. I find my old brand quite drying for my hair so I looked high and low for a similar shade and I found Palty!

Palty Hair Color in Milk Tea Brown
What is it?
Rich creamy brown called Milk Tea Brown. Colors your hair moist, shiny and beautiful. Fresh fruity floral scent. The hair color contains Camellia oil for shine, Silicon for smoothness, Botanical protein for protection from damage. Camellia oil hair essence conditions and moisturizes the color treated hair. Source: Amazon

Packaging
Boxed hair color with english translation and all. All inclusions of this boxed dye is posted in my last Palty Hair Color in Sakura Creamy review.

Experience
A quick recap on my hair, I have this brassy hair for a while now til I've decided to go blonde. I bleached my hair twice before I used Lolane (which basically changed only the brassiness part) then I proceeded with the Palty Hair Color in Milk Tea Brown.

I bought about just one box for my hair. The waiting time is 30 minutes only, compared to my usual one hour. I had my mom to help me, she didn't had a hard time because the applicator makes it so easy. I know that maybe 2-3 boxes is recommended for long hair, but I really don't care because I just need to dye my hair so it will look even. We need to make do with what we have, I asked my mom to focus on the upper part of my hair. I like how nice it smells, no ammonia or funky smell. This is great because we did the coloring process inside the room.

And so here is the result of my 30 minutes hair color with Palty.

At first, my workmates said it looks a bit greenish. Maybe because of the fact that it does happen when hair is dyed with ashy colors, read here. For me my hair looks ashy enough and the hint of green is very light so I really don't mind. Hair is somehow honey blonde but not some shade I can call very light brown. This was taken with flash by the way, a day or two after coloring.

How much and where to buy?
P330/box at Trinoma sale, the normal price is P369.75/box

What I love
  • Easy to apply
  • The bottle applicator with brush is so handy!
  • No strong ammonia smell
  • Fruity smell
  • Love the ashy color!
  • Made my hair shiny
  • Includes bottle applicator
  • The Camellia Hair oil essence made my hair soft
  • Cheaper compared to coloring in salon and other boxed dyes
What I don't
  • Nothing I can mention
Will I repurchase?
I want to try their Bubble Dye!

Do I recommend this?
Yes.I recommend Palty Hair Color in Milk Tea Brown for gals who want to go for a type of blonde which is not eye catching enough to be worn at school or work. Okay, don't quote me on that. Of course it will still depend on your school or workplace if they allow blonde hair. I just really hope there will be acceptance on different hair colors *meep* I really think this is some kind of safe shade of blonde.

Overall~
Palty Hair Color in Milk Tea Brown is a nice shade if you are aiming for something ashy. Its not straight-forward brown and its not straight-forward blondish shade either. I really like how it turned out but remember to use 2-3 boxes if your hair is long. Or your hair may fade to something like below.

This was taken I guess after 2 weeks after coloring. Now I know why it was called milk tea brown. This is more like milk tea color, meow. I am guessing that if I used more than one box the faded color will be more like grayish brown instead of golden brown. Now I think my hair is more similar to below anime character.

Hair Inspiration!
Tenori Taiga of Tora Dora. Hohoho~ Anime marathon of this series, and I am loving her lately.

Just me: Lee Jong Suk's drama: W - Two Worlds (더블유) is ending tomorrow! Huehue I can't control my feels, anyone who watches this? I love love this drama~

10 Things to Know Before Coloring Your Hair

This is a quick blog post on 10 Things to Know Before Coloring Your Hair. We all know how costly it is to have our hair colored professionally. With the vast selection of available boxed hair dyes its too hard to resist on not doing the coloring yourself!

10 Things to Know Before Coloring Your Hair
Here is behind the scenes (lol) when my friend went with me to the salon so I can finally have my hair cut after 2 years! It'll be great if you tag a friend with you.

1. BUY MORE THAN WHAT YOU NEED
Typically its 2-3 boxes for long hair or more and 1-2 boxes for short hair. Depends on the length and thickness the number of boxes needed varies. But as a general rule, get more than enough for your hair. You wouldn't want to have less especially when you are half way finish.

2. BUY 2 SHADES LIGHTER
If going for a lighter shade compared to your desired color you must go for 2-3 shades lighter for the hair dye. Its most likely that the end result won't be similar to the shade in the box anyway. Asians usually have this black hair  and lifting the color can be quite a feat. It is easier to darken the color's intensity than to lighten it when the dye is already in your strands.
I often use 12% volume developer when lightening hair color, but just recently I used 9% because I would be coloring my blonde hair and less volume means the mix will be less damaging.

3. FIND THE RIGHT FORMULA
I usually go for tube hair dyes but I find that there are a lot of formulas right now. If you are really doing DIY color on your own foam dyes in  bottle like Palty. Most japanese and korean brands also offers bubble formula which is easier to handle because there is no mixing involved. Also, such formula is thick and more likely to stay on you hair than you skin. No dripping on your face or hairline.Cream formulas in tube however is proven to provide full coverage when evenly distributed to the hair. Some hair dyes nowadays have little to no ammonia smell at all. If you can, choose ammonia free hair dyes.

4. NO POOLS ALLOWED
I have a friend who just had a blonde hair, he swam in the pool and got moss green hair. Chlorine strips away the hair cuticle allowing minerals in the water to get into the hair shaft and alter your color. Unfortunately during the first 2 weeks of coloring your hair you may not dive in the pool. Just a bit of sacrifice for being extra pretty.

5. FORGET SHOWER
Dirty hair is best when dyeing. Forget shower prior to hair dyeing in order to allow the scalp's natural oils to work as buffer against the chemicals in the hair dye. Can't skip the showers? Skip shampoo instead.

6. CHANGE YOUR HAIR BUDDIES!
Clarifying and dandruff shampoo can easily strip away not just the color but even your hair's shine and oil. There are colored hair friendly formulas which are more gentle for our crowning glory. For me, red hair is the most difficult color to maintain.

7. EXPECT DAMAGE
No matter how much promises your box of dye offer there will still be damage. This is still true even when you want to darken your hair. Both of permanent and semi-permanent dyes contains hydrogen peroxides which lifts or changes the color.

8. CONDITION HAIR BEFORE COLOR
Deep conditioner or hair spa can replace moisture lost during the coloring process. But its better to have healthy hair even before the process. Chop off split ends if you can.
Buy conditioner, lots of it! Hair spa will be wonderful. Your hair will thank you.

9. IF SENSITIVE, PATCH TEST
I am one of the lucky ones who didn't experienced irritation when coloring. However I know some of us are sensitive on chemicals, therefore do not forget to patch test a small area on your hair before coloring. Your scalp will be irritated as well if you color without knowing if the dye is something you can tolerate.

10. AVOID FRIED HAIR
I am guilty of dyeing my whole head every time I color. My bad, I didn't know I must only color the regrowth. Doing too much coloring will result to color build up and fried ends. It will also be the cause of uneven colors as well as unnecessary damage.

So that ends my post on the 10 Things to Know Before Coloring Your Hair. Happy Hair Coloring!~
