Review: Etude House Mylash Serum

Lately, I've been obsessing over how much difference eyelashes can make to an overall look. I have looked into mascaras and false lashes but I thought of helping myself a bit and trying to see if there is anything that could help me in getting doll-like lashes. That is when I've found Etude House Mylash Serum through my sister.

What is it?
Etude House Mylash Serum says:
  • Lash serum to encourage growth
  • Contains cornus officinalis fruit extract and panthenol
  • Use as a primer under makeup or on its own
  • Cornus officinalis fruit extract - Conditions the hair and encourages growth
  • Panthenol - Soothes and strengthens the hair

How to use: After your beauty routine, apply and brush the serum from the lash roots towards the tips of your lashes. *Be careful and avoid the content from entering your eyes.

Packaging
It comes in a clear plastic tube with a baby pink cap. It comes in a screw mascara type of applicator making it easy to use it on the lashes and roots.

Experience
I was initially using castor oil for my lashes but I really don't like how it smells so I stopped using it. When my sister bought Etude House Mylash Serum I was skeptical but she said nothing but wonders about it so I gave in. I use it every night before I start my skincare routine. I find that it is best to use it on clean lashes to avoid any product getting mixed up inside the serum tube. Over time, if you use any other product the mascara wand picks it up, it will get mixed with the serum and the product itself gets cloudy when this happens. The serum is still usable but it kinda shortens the lifespan of the product.

The serum has no scent. It's very light, not heavy, not oily and it doesn't clump up my lashes. Ever since I started using Etude House Mylash Serum I've noticed that my lashes are stronger now and there is less eyelash fallout even when I scratch my eyes when it's itchy. It is also slightly longer than before. Still, not as doll-like but that won't be as realistic expectation right?

How much and where to buy?
The last tube I got was from Younfamily store in Lazada for P191. But if you opt to buy it from their official Lazada store it's currently P228.

What I love
  • Lengthens lashes
  • Lessened my lash fallouts
  • Can be used for 3-4 months
  • Value for money
What I don't
  • None

Will I repurchase?
YES. This is a staple in my beauty routine and I've already used 3 tubes.

Overall~
Etude House Mylash Serum is a nice addition to any beauty routine. Eyelashes are often neglected when doing beauty routines but it's the time to change that now. Stronger, longer and healthy lashes here we go. This is a very good product from Etude House and I hope they never discontinue this product.

What product are you using to take good care of your eyes? If there are other products you want me to try next from Etude House just comment down below!

Beauty Goodies from my Japan Trip

Hello beauties, Happy Tuesday! Have you seen the 'Super Moon' last night? I was not able to get a good glimpse because of some reason but I saw cool photos in facebook. Boy it was beautiful~ :)

I want to include a short sneak peek on my next reviews. I had a quick beauty shopping in Japan during my last trip. Actually on the way to shopping, when we went to the subway station we asked one girl for directions. She is very kind and she have this pretty pink cheeks I adore. I took courage to ask what brand of blush does she use? Can you guess what brand it is? Read till the last part of this post!

To those who might be curious, the best places to buy these are at Don Quijote and Aeon Shopping Malls. Both offers tax free shopping and lower than ordinary prices. However take note also that there are some items that might only be available in drugstores. Ehem, lezz start!

Biore Facial Foam

I intend to give this to my sister ehem ehem. I am not sure if we have this here in Manila.

San Sophia Whip Premium Cleansing Foam
This product is said to work like Shiseido Perfect Whip, it was on sale so yeah I gave in to my curiosity.

Biore Marshmallow Facial Wash
I love the cutesy pink push bottle packaging.

Cezanne Eyebrow Powder in 01
I was looking for something I can put on my brows. I like how it have 3 colors similar to the shadow I also purchased.

Cezanne Eyeshadow in 01
I never tried this brand before, but I really really love the shimmer shadows of the pretty japanese girls I see on the streets. Its a dreamy beautiful shimmers.

Lip Baby Color Fruits Lip Balm in Peach Pink
For my sister again, well its an early Christmas gift? Its a lightly tinted balm with UV protection.

Lip Baby Fruits Lip Balm in White Peach Flavor
I also bought something for myself, its just fruity with white peach flavor but no color, it also have UV protection!

-oOo-

Okay so please never mind that I bought a bunch of facial cleansers! >_<" Actually I originally intend to buy Biore Make up remover or Kose but I cannot find the variant I wanted. The description are all in japanese, for tourists, like me its hard to buy stuff of course when I can't stand a thing. Luckily I have google for this, I just check out the image of the product I want to buy. Not in pictures, I also have Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion, The Faceshop Oil Clear Blotting Powder and Etude House Color My Brows. The korean brands are not from Japan, I actually got them in Changgi Airport. YAY!~

Before I end the post, the beautiful pink blush was actually Shiseido Maquillage PK200! It costs JPY 3500 in the airport Duty Free. I was not able to spot it on the places I've been. Its expensive but I dream to get one someday. The kind lady showed me the actual package. Hoho~

So that sums up my quick sneak peek on my next entries. Lemme know what you think about them?

What's inside my Kikay Kit?

Alow~ Yes hello girls, I can't believe it's already Saturday tomorrow. It's finally my rest day! I am looking forward into learning a lot of stuff during my free time this weekend which includes *drum roll* baking!~ Its cold and it is the best time to bake. I would love to try cupcakes this time around.

And so, before tomorrow comes, I will let you take a quick peek at my makeup whatnots. <3

Yay, so I do have the same makeup routine everyday. Skipping the mascara and eye lash curling (I keep on losing eye lash huhu)

Here is what I have in my makeup kit, some which I have reviewed already. Pretty basic without my favorite Avon nude and brown eye shadow palette and Tonymoly backgel eyeliner which I don't lug around since I don't reapply them.

  1. Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream - I am yet to review this one. But this is a good bb cream. Like I always say I like multi-purpose products because I am always in a hurry during mornings!
  2. Silkywhite 2 way powder Foundation - velvety powder anyone? I also use this as my touch up powder.
  3. Tonymoly Tony Tint Delight - great for gradient lips
  4. Tonymoly Face Mix Concealer - it doesn't last whole day so need to reapply
  5. Nichido Cheek Mousse in Pink Champagne - nicely blushed on cheeks.
  6. Pinkies Collection in LP-01 - baby pink color similar to Sophie Martin's summer pink.
  7. Fashion21 lipstick in Apricot - neutral peachy color that looks very natural when applied lightly.
  8. Contact Lens Case - in case I need to change into my glasses
  9. Nail cutter -just felt like bringing it with me
  10. Hair clip! -for getting rid of my bangs if I have a bad bangs hair day. haha.
  11. Avon Clearskin Acne gel -for sudden breakouts. yikes.
  12. Vaseline Lip Therapy Balm in Cherry -keeps my lips moisturized!

Even though I still buy beauty items I make it to a point that I just buy what I need (for now). Most will be repurchase of products I really use. Let us congratulate ourselves for saving. The cold weather makes less room for melted makeup. Yahoo~ :)

I would be ending my post with Oh my girl's - Closer. They are very synchronized and the song has this very cool mysterious vibe to it.

Review: ETUDE HOUSE Water color Blusher in No. 3 Baby Apricot

Is this watercolor? Yes or no? Yay. This fancy watercolor tube is actually a blusher! Its from Etude House, I got it from Etude House Buy 1 Take 1 Sale wherein I also bought bb cream. The first time I saw this I just know I've got to have it.

ETUDE HOUSE Water color Blusher in No. 3 Baby Apricot Review

What is it?
It has 3 shades pink, lilac and peach

Packaging
Its in a watercolor looking tube which is cute and fancy. It dispenses the right amount of product so there is no product wastage.

Experience
The texture of Etude House Water Color Blusher is exactly like watercolor! Its fascinating and I really like it. Its very easy to blend blend blend~ The color is very peachy and its very nice when you would like to look fresh and young. A warm color to brighten up a dull look. Its better on top of my makeup and I like that it looks dewy looking.

This blush doesn't accentuate pores and gives just the right amount of color to look naturally blushing. I use my fingers to apply in on my cheeks but you can also try stippling brush if you want to. Might give a different effect, I have a stippling brush but I rarely use it, I might not just be a brush person.

I've got combination skin and it only lasts about 2 hours on me, so whenever I use this I lug it around in my bag. This is one of my favorite blushes. Peach has a special place in my heart.

How much and where to buy?
I got it in Etude House Buy 1 take 1 sale, its normal price is P348 per tube. You can snag this at local Etude House stores.

What I love

  • The cute packaging!
  • Its sealed which means product freshness
  • Applies like silk
  • A little goes a long way
  • Very natural color
  • Lightweight
  • Very easy to apply
  • Pigmentation is build-able
  • Price is affordable
What I don't
  • Doesn't last long for oily skin about 2 hours at its best
  • Not sweat proof
  • Needs constant blush retouch

TIPS
-This is best applied on top of your face makeup
-Bring it with you because it needs re-application
-Best applied with fingers, the key is to blend blend blend!

Will I repurchase?
Yes I want to try their Lilac and pink colors.

Overall~
ETUDE HOUSE Water color Blusher in No. 3 Baby Apricot is a good blush for makeup starters or students on a budget. This is easy to apply and gives very natural color. Apricot fits any skin tone. I recommend this to anyone who want to try lightweight cream blushes.

Review: Etude House Lip & Eye Remover

Scary! A product meant to remove your lips and eyes, yikes! So I really wish I had a ton of this stuff. Really, I am more focused with skincare now. The better my skin is, the less makeup I need. And at the end of the day less makeup to remove, I am usually okay with just facial wash but now I can't imagine myself without Etude House Lip & Eye Remover .

What is it?
Etude House Lip & Eye Remover
Gentle, yet highly effective, this double formulated lip & eye remover easily and instantly dissolves all traces of make-up for a soothing and moisturizing effect on the sensitive eye & lip area without any irritation.

Alcohol-free, ph balanced remover preserves sensitive areas around the eyes and lips during makeup removal.

Packaging
The makeup remover is contained in a simple plastic bottle. Plastic bottles are great invention for a clumsy girl like me who have a magnet that makes anything fall off. My mom said when it rained clumsiness maybe I was at the front.

Experience
Etude House Lip & Eye Remover is my very first makeup remover. I was having a hard time removing mascara and I wanted some help from a skincare product. I remembered Etude House offers affordable makeup remover so I tried it. I find the product best applied using cotton pads.

The product is like light baby oil and it does wipe off face makeup easily- my foundation, bb cream, lippies and non-waterproof eyeliner... but I had a bit of difficulty in removing my mascara. I use the hypercurl mascara by the way, and it takes a while to remove it. However Etude House Lip & Eye Remover still manages to melt it so it'd be removed, its just not so fast as I expected it to.

How much and where to buy?
P198 for 100ml bottle available in Etude House kiosks/shops.

What I love

  • Gentle
  • Doesn't sting
  • Easily removes non-waterproof makeup
  • Affordable

What I don't

  • Needs to use more product to remove waterproof mascare
  • Makes my vision blurry

TIPS
Be gentle on removing eye makeup, we don't want premature wrinkles, do we?

Will I repurchase?
I want to try other affordable brands for makeup remover but if they are not as gentle as Etude House then I'd be buying a bottle again

Overall~
Etude House Lip & Eye Remover is a good product for its price. Now I just can't live without makeup remover, it just makes life easier and of course your skin clearer! A clean skin is one step forward to clearer skin, I believe.

~o~
Life is short, smile while you have teeth! :)
So I do hope I have more control over my emotions especially when I have PMS. Its so hard to be a girl. Lately I am having fun watching anime, now I am watching Say I love you~

Review: Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in Cherry Peach

Graduation day is comiiiiing! Yes finally. I wonder how our family will celebrate the day? I am so excited! \(T∇T)/

Everybody knows that I love pink but for some reason I started to like peach colors lately because it looks more natural on me than pink. Lemme introduce you to Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in Cherry Peach.

There are other colors to try from their Cherry Tint line like red and pink.

 ✧ETUDE HOUSE✧
Fresh Cherry Tint
OR 201 Cherry Peach
Tint promotes moist & shiny cherry lips with a creamy, smooth texture.

[Directions] Use tip to gather and apply tint. Apply extra layer for more coverage.

9g.

This product inspired me to use cute japanese emoticons! Like yeah~ ≧(´▽`)≦

I so love cutesy stuffs and getting old won't set me back from loving them. Hoho~ I use this tint when I want to sport au-naturele look. Like when I am going to school. I love pairing it with a soft pink or peach blush.

So I have used this with and without balms. It does suffice on providing moisturized healthy lips finish but it doesn't really last long. It has a creamy consistency same to milky tints of Tony Moly. If you don't use a lip balm you will soon have dry and chapped lips. Not a big problem because I know that it's ordinary for lip tints to be drying. The color (quite orangey) peach changes once applied. It becomes kinda pinkish on me which I like. Color is not camera friendly, it does not show much in pictures. But sometimes I still use it alone or as a base for my peachy/skin tone lipsticks.

The Packaging:
Sweet sexy peachy bottle which says 'Fresh Cherry Tint'. The sponge tip applicator picks just the right amount of product.

How much? P298 online while in their Etude House shops its P378.
TIP: Buying Etude House products online is cheaper and may save you money if you plan to buy lots of stuff. However you must be willing to wait because most of the time, products are on pre-order. Fret not, because there are perks in buying in kiosks and EH shops in SM Malls, spending P500 or over a thousand will earn you princess points and freebies! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Where to buy? At Etude House shops and kiosks at SM Malls nationwide, or online!

What I love:
  • It leaves glossy finish so no need for lip gloss
  • Moisturizes lips but when tint dries I need to reapply because my lip chaps
  • There is tint left after the gloss wears away
  • Smells like candies! Hmm... sweet!
  • Color is comparable to the natural lips when freshly exfoliated
  • Makes me look healthy and not overdone
What I don't:
  • It does not last long.
Will I buy again? I found other peachy lip products from Etude House and I plan to buy some. I might repurchase Fresh Cherry tint some other time.

Overall~
A really good product as always from Etude House, worth every penny IMO.

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in Cherry Peach in action. Please excuse our faces. Hihi can we pass up as an Ulzzang couple? Yay, kidding! <3

Review: Etude House Sheer Silky bb cream

I have been having a long busy September and I just had to get everything accomplished! I had no luck this past few days just to name a few, this things happened in one single week: I lost my job, the cover group I'm subbing for failed to make it in the contest (talk about no practice days because we lack 2 or 3 members!), I needed to go to the hospital again for a second opinion about my ECG result! (Duh~)

I was itching to replace my Maybelline bb cream because I cant squeeze any product out of its pump anymore! I browsed through online forums and I came to a decision that I want Etude House Precious Mineral bb cream all day-strong #2 aka EH sheer silky bb cream (Ekkk...yesssh a very long name, its a korean product after all). Tons of reviews of this prod in the net are quite convincing so even if it was not my price I still stretched my budget to the limits to get one (700 pesos for a single prod was a big gamble for me).

Anyway for the sake of the people who doesn't know what a bb cream is, this link is for you: What is bb cream? BB cream has more or less the consistency, look and feel of those liquid foundations but this has more magic into it because it has extra benefits such as whitening, healing, brightening, glowing --A few of the new variants has SPF protection as well.

This is how my new EH Precious Minerals Sheer Silky bb cream looks like:

This bb cream is all over the place already so I have decided not to post HD photos and use my oh-so-reliable-webcam-on-mornings for this review.

Let me explain my take on this product  in plain bullet points:
  • The consistency- thicker than my last bb cream which was Maybelline. I find it quite hard to spread despite the fact that I did moisturized prior of its application.
  • The color- Sheer Silky is the fair version which was said to be for oily skin and Sheer Glowing has a darker color which was said to be for dry skin.
Some people had questions "how about people with dark skin and has oily skin?" or "how about people with fair skin but has dry skin?" My opinion was maybe Etude House has thought that most oily people are acidic thus the product they put on their face will oxidize quickly?

(In this photo you'll see that the tube looks battered already, but in it's not! LOL) I tried to apply this at school but to my surprise the cream jump over my head to my shoulder staining my uniform for the day. Hooray for being reckless.

  • The look- it has a nice girly packaging, perhaps because of the price that goes with it. Anyway most products of Etude has this girly look but the cuteness award for packaging should go to Tony Moly, hehe. ^^
  • Sheer silky has a white tube and it has a purple pump that dispenses just the right amount of product you needed but be careful as it is quite tricky at first(read story above^). One complain I have is how the cap is easily removed from its tube. It doesn't lock in place and I always have to look for it in my beauty kit.
  • The name- All day strong. True, it stayed the whole day on my face and blotting only twice is perfect. Byebye touch ups!
  • The effect- As I've said its harder to spread than my first bb cream but as days go by I learned that the way how I put it has effect on how easy or hard my application will be. My pores got smaller and it has a sheer matte finish. I agree with the other blogger that the color of this cream is quite fair -but not the type that will make you look ghostly as it blends with the skin tone after a minute or two.

  • How I use it- I love bb creams as it gives a glowing effect. I was having high expectation with this bb cream actually because its a korean brand but after testing it for a week I can conclude that just like my Maybelline I still need the powers of my mineral foundation from Ellana to achieve that healthy glow that I had before. Since Sheer silky is matte, the glow effect is less than having some other bb cream with a non-matte finish. Glowing and oily may have almost the same feel by the way, but don't be confuse.
  • How much?- This bb cream retails for Php728. It has 60g. of product inside its handy tube.

All in all this Sheer Silky bb cream is worth trying out, I love it but I dont think I really like the matte finish as I love glowing skin effect from bb creams and this one doesn't show it off.
