Review: Hortaleza M.D. Total Solution Perfecting Cream

Reliving the moments of my childhood I watch Magical Doremi and Fushigi Yuugi. Thank you Channel 5 for such wonderful anime throwbacks. Now can anyone bring back Galaxy Angel, Alice Academy or Code Geass? My inner Otaku is out! Haha.

Okay, so enough anime babbling (hehe). I remember I have Hortaleza M.D. Total Solution Perfecting Cream which has been sitting in my drawer for a while now.I do recall browsing the internet for a whitening cream when I saw a video of a woman with dark underarms who used the product. She relayed her progress in the video and the end result was unbelievably an even-toned underarm. It was so amazing that the video went viral. Unfortunately I cannot find the link to the video anymore.

What is it? 

Hortaleza, M.D. Total Solution Perfecting Cream is a multi-benefit product that is formulated with skin lightening and sun protection active ingredients plus vitamin antioxidants to offer total solution for different skin needs. With regular use, skin is soft and radiantly glowing.

Ingredients:
Aqua, Glycerin, Isopropyl Myristate, Sodium Palmitate, Glyceryl Monostearate, Paeonia suffroticosa Root Extract, Scutellaria baicalensis Root Extract, Saxrifaga sermentosa Root Extract, n-Acetyl- L-Tyrosine, Glutathione, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Kojic Acid, Sorbitol Liquid, Cetyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium Dioxide, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Fragrance, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Imidazolidinyl Urea

Look at the ones I underlined, maybe the key ingredients are Glutathione, Vitamin c and Kojic Acid. Hmmm~ (suma side comment ako. lol) Awesome because it also contains sunscreen.

Instructions:
After cleansing and toning, evenly apply on face and neck. Product may also be applied on other parts of the body such as elbows and underarms. Use in the morning and in the evening.

Packaging 
The little container contains all you need to know about the product. This is the smallest tube Hortaleza offers. If my memory serves me right they have 3 sizes.

Experience 

Although I bought this for whitening underarms I still ended up in using it for the face. I am quite cautious when using creams for the face because I have combination skin and I easily break out from whitening products.But since they claim it as really effective, I took the risk and tried Hortaleza cream on the face. After my daily regimen I use this as my last step, no more moisturizers, serums or anything. In the morning I've used this as my sunscreen. I cannot actually describe the texture of the product, its like foamy or I remember mousse-like. It is cream, no questions with that but a different textured cream. I hope I make sense here. I can say it doesn't suffice as a moisturizer though, which made me think about it being called multi-benefit.

Sometimes I still apply it to my underarms (just for the sake of trying). After a month, I noticed that the acne marks on my face started to lighten but alas, not much change in terms of whitening of the face. However when I wake up in the morning my face looks radiant. No breakouts as well.

How much and where to buy? 
Hortaleza and HBC. I bought mine from HBC Victory Mall at P380 for 25g.

Will I repurchase? 
The results was quite slow, I kinda expected something more because of the promises in the video I've watched. Sooo~ maybe not this time.

Overall~ 
I noticed difference with acne marks but its still there. I understand that there is really no overnight miracle. This is where patience is a virtue comes in. lol. Overall, Hortaleza M.D. Total Solution Perfecting Cream is still worth a try, after all results may vary from person to person. Who knows?

I'm dying to try the new HBC Instacurl. It looks like Babyliss curler, but I bet this one is more affordable. Tell me that I'm right!~

Hi lovelies! Sorry for the long hiatus. Internet connection is very slow since the holidays. I am thinking of changing ISP soon, thinking about Wi-tribe (4g connection), PLDT My DSL and Globe Wimax LTE. I currently use Sun Broadband and seriously I don't know if our place is congested with users or is the connection just plain slow. Anyway let us get on to my review today, just recently I have looked for a short cut to flat tummy. There is no way you can fake a flat tummy in reality unless you do photoshop (only in pictures!) so I was confused. I only have 2 weeks in preparation before our group's "big day". We need to wear our costume again which requires, tentetenenen - showing of tummies. I was doomed!

Exercise won't be enough so I scoured Mercury Drug for slimming teas and I found Biofitea! I have high hopes that it will work. Caution now that this is a slimming tea and review is about a laxative product. Okay, so after using for 2 weeks now, did it work? Read on to find out~

What it is?
"BioFitea is made from first class Senna herb carefully processed to comply with the meticulous international standards of herbal tea preparation. No chemical solution added."
It is a slimming tea which is 'laxative'.
Laxatives (purgatives, aperients) are substances that loosen stools and increase bowel movements. They are used to treat and prevent constipation. Laxatives vary based on how they work and the side effects they have. -Wikipedia

I read on and found that prolonged use is not recommended. Pls see this link before trying this out.

Packaging

I can buy this is single sachets, and also in one box with 10 sachets. Complete with all the indications, directions etc

Experience
I carefully thought of on how I will use Biofitea. I don't want to be 'doing it' just anywhere. Remember that this is laxative. I have decided to drink it once a day preferably night time after meal. Regular bowel movements every morning, check. However I feel uncomfortable even when I am outside which is such a hassle because before, I am always on-the-go doing sales call and focusing on computer related tasks. I tried to stick to my plan and with an extra effort of exercise everyday, I had my routine going for 2 weeks.

As for the taste of Biofitea, there is absolutely no complains with it. I usually drink this cold, I am not a fan of hot drinks unless its coffee or hot chocolate. It taste like a popular iced tea available in the market today. I was actually expecting that it will have weird taste because its herbal, glad that I was wrong. Little by little I noticed difference and soon enough my old shorts are fit once more.

How much and where to buy?
I bought mine from Mercury Drug Store but Watsons also have this available. If my memory serves me right its only P5/ sachet.

What I love

Overall~
Biofitea is an effective herbal dietary tea. Especially when used with an added exercise which makes the effect appear faster IMO. I was able to show up my tummy after the 2 weeks, can you believe that? Not much flab appeared but my tummy is not really 'flat' but there is no magic secret to success. Hoho, with the right diet and exercise, who knows?

Review: Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in Honest

Hohoho~ Hi sweeties!

For this holiday season and for our reunion I want to try something new.I got tired on using my usual cheek tints for my looks. I wanted something more natural and something less noticeable, something that will make people think that I am just blooming. Haha.

I was looking for a peachy or orangey color blush. Something cheap as I don't want to break the bank, as I scour the local product brands I saw EB Cheek Blushes. I settled for Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in Honest.

Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in Honest Review

What is it?

A matte powder cheek blush with a bit of sparkles but its not visible on the skin once applied. I truly love the color. <3

Packaging
The cheek blush is inside a black and round flip top case. It looks classy! Although the case is made from plastic. This blush have accidentally fallen once and that is only when I have discovered that it has a compartment inside with a mirror and a small brush! Very neat and surprising haha.

Experience

I lightly apply Ever Bilena Blush using my ELF Stipple Brush. Sometimes I also use the brush included in this cheek blush. The product is quite powdery and there are a bit of fall outs, but I don't mind. The end result is a really natural blushing cheeks that doesn't look over done. This light orange-y color just gives me the right glow during days that my skin looks pale. This blush is pigmented and I can easily adjust the intensity of color depends on how I apply the product. It lasts about 2-3 hours when its hot and humid. By the way underneath it says to have UVA/UVB protection so I guess that is another good point.

I usually wear this blush over peach or pink lips. But if you are looking for a blush which will go well with a red lipstick for this holiday then this can also be your best bet!

A 4g. blush only costs P180 at Ever Bilena kiosks in SM Department stores, Watsons, HBC and Hortaleza

What I love

• Very natural looking color for no makeup look
• Its matte!

• travel friendly because it has a brush and mirror inside

What I don't

• Doesn't last long
• Ingredients is not stated anywhere on the case

TIPS

Be careful when applying this blush because there are fall-outs.

Will I repurchase?

Yes definitely but I am yet to hit the pan and I have a looooong way to go. The baby pink blushes also interests me. I just can't get enough of pink stuffs eh?~

Overall~

Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in Honest is a perfect to-go blush for no-makeup look. If you want to look glowing but not made up, then check this out!

Review: Bobbie Cosmetics Dare to Bare Face Powder

Sweeties its about the time of the year again. Malls are all jam-packed. The season is so timely for a MOA Saturday date. This post is quite late though.

Sweet boyfie is really supportive in not letting me drop by in Watsons hahahaha. Oh well he knows very well that we will spend an hour or so browsing new products. I rarely visit beauty shops now so is my only chance! Teehee sorry.

I found Bobbie Cosmetics, it is a new cosmetic brand for me. The sales lady mentioned that Bobbie Cosmetics is from the same company who makes Bobbie and Chic nail polishes. Oooh interesting~
The prices of their products is really affordable. I think their target market are students. But not too bad for girls in a budget as well. Nothing over P200.

If my memory serves me right, this are the prices:
2 way foundation with case- P 199

For testing purposes I bought Bobbie Cosmetic Dare to Bare Face Powder refill in sheer. I remember seeing at least three shades for both face powder and 2-way foundation. I don't really mind getting the powder with the case, I mean hello its pink! It is not just pink, its metallic pink! <3 Ooh +1 for that. But I don't want to waste the case if the powder does not work on me so I settled for the refill. Really economic.

Bobbie Cosmetics Dare to Bare duo powder (2 way foundation) is offered in 3 shades just like the face powder. I noticed the amount of product is less compared to the face powder.

What is it?
Basically a face powder, perfect for touch ups or on top of liquid foundations. I am not a fan of 2 way foundations because it feels heavy on my skin. See product description below:

The not-so-good news is that it contains paraben.

Packaging
Ooops this is a refill. I must say though that their shade selection is quite limited. The lightest shade they offer is far from the other face powder shade I was using.

Experience
My aim is to find a new face powder with effects comparable to my past face powder. I tried Bobbie Cosmetics face powder alone and it gave me a smooth flawless finish. But because shade is not as light like I've mentioned it did not gave me the brightening skin effect. I also tried this on top of my moisturizer and bb cream combo. It was good, same look when I used it alone.
I must say it is good for touch ups. It absorbs oil and finish is matte. I tried using Bobbie Dare to Bare Face Powder with kabuki brush but the free sponge does so much better. It delivers light to medium finish. I apply it with a pat-pat motion so I can adjust the coverage easily.

How much and where to buy?
Php 55 for the 12g refill

What I don't
Powdery that is why product is consumed faster

TIPS

• Use sponge for medium and kabuki brush for lighter coverage
• Use moisturizer even when you plan on using it alone to serve as the makeup base; it may highlight dry patches just like any other powder
• Pat-pat motion to adjust coverage easily

Will I repurchase?
Yes sure! Next time with the lovely pink case.

Overall~
A decent face powder far from the powders of the same price. Definitely buying the tint and eyeshadow next!~
