Review: SILKYGIRL Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balm

Annyeong! Hi minna san, sorry for not updating much lately. I want to, but I don't have the drive to post although I got a lot of pending drafts *yikes*. To anyone who likes or loves anime have you watched Ookami Shoujo To Kuro Ouji (Wolf girl and Black Prince)? Its a comedy and romance based story and they have an anime and live action versions. Nowadays instead of watching dramas I read manga. Actually that is my only 'me time' because I am so busy lately and I don't even have time to prettify. I needed multi-purpose products which I can use especially when I am in a rush. There is something I use everyday now and its SILKYGIRL Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balm.

I thought of reviewing them for today. I got them in 6 shades.

What is it?
Moisture Boost Lipcolor comes in a retractable pencil form with vitamins A, C, and E. Its perfect blend of oils ensure that your lips stay soft and supple. A balanced blend of luminous to provide your lips with a balm-like moisture. Credits: Silkycosmetics

Packaging
The product is packaged in Light plastic material and its made to look like big crayons, soooo cute~
The retractable form of Silkygirl Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balm makes it very handy and there is no sharpening needed! Just twist and go.

Experience
I was very happy when I received this babies! Seriously they have 6 shades which are all so tempting. The range comes from nude to red and I think its just what every girl needs. The usual baby pink and hot pink are not in this lip color series though. Not a big let down though, because most of the other brands already cover those colors. Might good to not include them for a change? (but deep inside, *pinku is lifeuuu*)

First thoughts, I can say that its in a convenient form. It will seem you are using a big crayola when you apply. Its very cute. Korean beauty brands are all over crayon type lippies nowadays my sister have Peri Pera and she really likes it. I want to know how Silkygirl fares with other brands!

Okay so off to the swatches on my lips. Like I've said its available on 6 shades, they are numbered and named (how convenient!): 1. Latte, 2. Coral, 3. Ruby 4. Rose, 5. Poppy 6. Wine. Check them out below:

SILKYGIRL Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balm

1. Latte
Latte is a nice nude shade that won't leave you look washed out. This is a good nude shade for everyday.

2. Coral
Coral is a peachy pink shade, but it leans more on pink. This is the closest they can get to pink. But this shade makes me look blooming, I like it.

3. Ruby
Ruby is a blue-based red red which doesn't make my teeth look yellow. Like I've said, this balm does fade quickly, one time I was only left with red line on the outer rims of my lips.

4. Rose
Its a nice my-lips-but-better shade, its a go-to shade when you want a safe shade for any occasion.

5. Poppy
Poppy is a nice cool orange shade that brightens up my face. I think this will go well with any skin tone.

6. Wine.
Wine is a vampy shade which is more fuschia than red. This is honestly my favorite from the bunch. I got compliments when I've worn this color because it pops out and its great for corporate look. Makes you look like a strong girl and the like~ *meep*

***

The product is balm like and true its name "Moisture Boost" because its truly moisturizing and there is no need for an extra balm underneath unless you have badly chapped lips. However despite the moisture factor, the color did not suffer. The color is vibrant and pigmented! Its very creamy and glossy similar to creme sheen lipsticks. The color is buildable, it can be sheer or opaque depends on the application. Because of the creamy texture, Silkygirl Moisture Boost Lipcolor balm is hydrating but not long-wearing. On the lips its light like you are even wearing any product at all. Its not transfer proof though. After eating or drinking you will need to reapply.

How much and where to buy?
P279 per tube. This was sent to me for review but I am yet to check if they already have this at Silkygirl kiosks.

What I love
  • Moisturizing - no need for extra balm
  • 2 in 1 product
  • Color stays true to the tube
  • Easy to use
  • Nice color selection
  • Buildable color
  • Creamy texture
  • No fragrance
  • No paraben
What I don't
  • Not long wearing
  • Reapplication is a must after eating or drinking

Will I repurchase?
Yes but only my favorite shades! (coral and wine red)

Overall~
I recommend SILKYGIRL Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balm to  I recommend this to girls on the go who wants a product that they can use when they are in a hurry. It can hydrate your lips because its a balm but it can also give an opaque color like lipsticks. Its also light like you are not wearing any product at all. The only downside maybe is the longevity, this is a make or break I know, however this very easy to use so I don't really mind reapplication. If you are looking for a lip product that won't break the bank and is safe for daily use, I give Silkygirl a thumbs up.
~~~
Anyways gals I finally got my visa! I will be flying to Japan again soon! I will update you with a Japan laden post next time.
Review: Chin Chun Su Facial Cream
Ola Patola beautiful girls of the world~ (greetings courtesy of my beautiful friend Tin)
I've been on a short hiatus again, I've been too focused with work yet due to recent client bookings.
Anyhow, as mentioned in my old posts I am looking for a whitening cream which can lighten my face. My face is a bit darker compared to my body, I blame it perhaps for not wearing sunscreen everyday. I am quite confuse on how to lighten my face without very harsh chemicals. Kojic soaps are too much for me and gives me comedones. Other facial creams on the other hand are well, doesn't give me anything more than moisture.
My mom would often tell me that Chin Chun Su Facial Cream is the secret beauty cream of nanays (mothers) before. I tried it once and I felt its too heavy, so since my skincare regimen now is quite drying I thought of giving Chin Chun Su another chance.
What is it?
Chin chun su facial cream is an all around non- irritant, powerful clearing and lightening facial cream, perfect for use on any external dark spots of your body such as the bikini area, armpit, nipple and knees.
It is an excellent age defying cream against acne, age spots, dark spots, pimples, sun spots and wrinkle spots, thus making you look younger than your true age. Its very powerful clearing facial spots essence helps the body cure itself of skin problems caused by mother nature, time and environmental aggressors.
This product is original and authentic, moisturize and prevents dry skin, can be used as a make up foundation, can be used all over your external body to remove blemishes and dark spots, can be used by young and old alike.
Ingredients: Pearl powder, Talc, Petrolatum, Vitamin A,  Vitamin E,  Titanium Dioxide, Sulfur, Salicylic acid
How to use:
Wash face with warm water and mild soap before application. For best results, apply 2-3 times a day, morning, afternoon and bedtime. With your fingertips, get a small amount of cream and spread gently on face in an upward stroke. Rub well into the skin before it disappears. Apply more and frequently on blemishes, on the neck and also as a make up base for cosmetics. This cream can be worn day and night to help dry out pimples and make your skin smooth.
Packaging
Small pink oval plastic packaging makes it travel friendly. It only contains 10g
Experience
A bit rundown on the ingredients of Chin Chun Su. The list of the ingredients seems all good if you look at it.
Salicylic acid most skincare products contain this and used to exfoliate skin and to get rid of acne
Sulfur kill acne bacteria and is one of the most popular treatment for acne, also gives the distinct scent of the product
Titanium dioxide protects the skin from harmful UV lights
Pearl powder is said to beautify and lighten skin
Talc said to soothe irritated skin
Petrolatum topical ointment with skin healing properties
Vitamin A also called retinol is widely used as anti-acne and anti-aging agent
Vitamin E is proven to neutralize free radicals and to quell dryness
Well I have tried this before but I was not able to use it everyday. I am giving the cream another chance, but first thing first. Chin Chun Su facial cream will make your skin oily, unless you stay in an air conditioned room. At the first few days I thought there was no reaction to my skin, but on my 5th day of usage, I broke out. They say this is the purging stage and its normal. However some acne were big and red. It hurts and its quite depressing to see my face having a bad breakout. Since it was recommended to be applied 2-3 times a day I tried it also at night. I like how I wake up into a glowing look but yet again, pimples still appeared a day shortly after that.
I used it for almost a month and even finished about 2 pots and a half. Yes I finally gave up. I hoped that it will at least lighten the marks the breakout left but, its not happening. To each his own I guess.
CAUTION!When used for the first two weeks, more pimple will appear than before. This is a physiological reaction. The cream can get through the surface of the skin and clear up all the dirt in the skin. Do not stop using the product and the pimples will gradually disappear, this will make your skin smooth again. Those that are sensitive to the cream have red swell or itchiness on the face, don't be afraid. Temporarily stop using the cream and instead use egg white for 2 days after which, continue to use the cream.
How much and where to buy?
Its P16.60 for 10g pot
What I love
  • Affordable
  • Can be worn as makeup base
  • Glowing look the next morning if used as night cream
What I don't
  • Makes me oily
  • Broke me out
  • Did not lighten marks
  • The distinct scent
TIPS:
If using do not apply too much, try to apply as thinly as possible
Will I repurchase?
No. I had enough tries for Chin Chun Su already.
Overall~
Chin Chun Su Facial Cream was a really popular but again, if you have oily skin this might not be for you. If you have dry or combination skin, you can try it out if it will work on you but take note on that it will aggravate pimples on your first 2 weeks.
My whitening cream search continues~
Review: SILKYWHITE BB 2-Way Foundation
When it comes to face powder foundation I stick to just one brand if it works on me. Usual qualifications for an 'it' foundation for me is that it should: withstand Manila's humid weather, melts to a glowing finish, won't cake and with SPF protection. So with that being said, my favorite right now is Silkywhite BB 2-way foundation.
What is it?
Silky girl says:
Your ALL-IN-ONE solutions for smooth, perfect skin. This BB powder + foundation is enriched with Vitamin C and natural whitening extract for fairer skin. It contains kernel butter to nourish and moisturize the skin; plus Silica will absorb excess sebum to provide a matte finish. The powder is suitable for all skin types and you can opt for either a medium or full coverage with its dry or wet method or application.
SPF 20/PA+
All-in-One
Brighten skin tone
All-day wear
Formulated for Asian skin
It does contain paraben.
Experience
Asian skin tones have more of yellow or golden undertones rather than pink so its good to buy foundations made for asian skin. Silkygirl is an asian brand and they have about 4 shades available. I chose the lightest shade - 01 because I am acidic which means most of the makeup I use tend to oxidize and leave my face a shade darker than my actual color. The foundation is not powdery, and lives up to its name because its indeed silky to touch. It has no scent or whatsoever and its glides smoothly on the skin.
On my face.. I actually over applied teehee but I think it evened out my skin tone well and brightens up my complexion. Silkywhite foundation is yellow based and it blends to the skin after a few minutes. The finish is matte but not flat on reality. It gives me medium to full coverage. It hides pores and it doesn't highlight dry patches. For redness and dark spots, I still use a concealer.
Just for testing purposes I've also tried using a wet sponge to apply the foundation on bare face. It looks nice and the finish is more even compared to using it dry. It doesn't cake at all, granted that you use a non-sticky base of course.
I apply it using the sponge included in the refill and its not cheap at all. The sponge is soft and it doesn't tear apart easily like the ones sold in other refill foundie I know. You can also use brush but the coverage will be sheer. I usually apply it dry - on top of my bb cream. I find that applying powder foundation over liquid bb or foundation gives a better flawless result.
How much and where to buy?
P169 for the refill. Last sales, they offered it for a very special price of only P90!
What I love
  • Affordable
  • Flawless finish
  • Melts to a glowing look
  • SPF 20/PA+
  • All-in-One
  • Brightens skin tone
  • All-day wear
  • Formulated for Asian skin
What I don't
Nothing I can mention
TIPS
Brush for sheer coverage
Use of top of bb or liquid foundation for extra coverage
Will I repurchase? ~
Yes I've already finished 4 of this already!
Overall~
Pyong!~ The Silkywhite bb 2-way foundation is a big thumbs up! I am nearly finish with my powder again and I am surely buying another one.
Asian Madness: Sakura Restaurant and Ho Bing Korean Dessert Cafe
"Everyday may not be good buy there is something good in everyday"
A happy Saturday to everybody! This week has been so long because of our weekend duty for our agency promotions. Anyways since its a weekend again, lemme share our food adventures. You may want to try this places if you don't like to eat fast food for the day. When you crave for asian food, good thing restaurants in the mall already got you covered.
Sakura is located in Glorietta Complex, they don't have an enclosed place, its more of like a food court style but its nice. Some people may complain because its in the middle of the walkway and may be uncomfortable to some, to each his own I guess. For your convenience I am sharing the link to their menu from Zomato.
Yes he will soon be a master of chop sticks. hehe.
Chu ordered Katsudon  which is basically pork cutlet with onions and Donburi sauce topped with scrambled egg - P315 per order. Being the ramen lover that I am, I ordered Miso Ramen which is ground pork, shitake mushrooms and assorted vegetables with ramen in spicy miso paste, its P345.
Ramen!!!
Okay so to be honest, it was quite expensive compared to the other Japanese restaurants I've eaten before so I am quite expecting it would be good. The Katsudon is just 'okay'. But I may say there is nothing spectacular with the taste. The Miso Ramen on the other hand is filled with meat, naruto (fish cake) and some veggies. Its quite big and not so spicy. My only complain is that its a greasy ramen.
So since our first try for asian food is a bit let down we tried to look for our next food stop. I saw a big tarp of Ho bing inside Glorietta, which lead to our very first Bing Su experience!
Ho Bing Korean Dessert Cafe is located in Glorietta Complex as well, you can easily spot this korean place if you are going to SM Makati. Menu from Zomato here. I like the blue light ambiance which made it look really cold inside. They have a television that plays korean pop and american music videos. They gave us queue number when we ordered.
Good thing we came early because soon enough people are already lining up for seat reservations. We chose Chocolate Cookies Bing Su.
They added a lot of Oreos inside and even the ice is chocolate! It was a pleasant very first Bing Su experience. Nothing but love for Ho Bing. We took a few photos yeay~
I think we are lucky to get to try foods which are originally only available in their home countries. Ramen shops, masatami, okonomiyaki and bing su are just a mall away. Yay, have a happy weekend!~
Fend Off Pimples With Céleteque DermoScience Acne Solutions
Pimples can plague even the freshest of faces. While these pimples and blemishes can cause unsightly redness and bumps, it can also affect your confidence. To stave off pimples and consequently boost confidence, Céleteque DERMOSCIENCE™ has come up with its ACNE SOLUTIONS line that specifically targets pimples. This is a line of highly specialized Dermatologist-created products that aim to clear up acne and control oily skin. With regular use, studies have shown a substantial improvement of 80% clearer skin in as early as one week.
What really happens to skin when we get pimples or acne?
Oil, sweat, and dead skin cells from the dermis go out to the epidermis or the surface of the skin through the hair follicle. However, for acne-prone skin, oil, sweat and dead skin cells easily get trapped inside hair follicles, forming a plug. It then forms a bump (called a comedone) on the surface of the skin. This plug creates an environment where bacteria can thrive and can infect the bumps thus making it inflamed. Once it swells, the follicle wall breaks into the dermis, signaling white blood cells to fight the infection. This results to redness, swelling, and formation of pustule, making the pimple or blemish rather unsightly.
Céleteque’s Acne Solutions
To address the concern of pimples and blemishes and attack it from the source, Céleteque offers a line of Dermo-grade acne solutions. Each product is fitted with pimple-fighting active ingredients infused into the different products in the line.
CLEANSE
An effective anti-pimple regimen begins with proper cleansing. Céleteque DermoScience™ Acne Solutions Acne Cleansing Gel (PhP 270.00 for 50 ml or PhP 495.00 for 100 ml) is a thorough cleanser that has Hydroxy Acid (in the form of Salicylic Acid) that can penetrate hair follicles and exfoliate dead skin cells, thus removing blockage and decreasing comedones on the skin.
TONE
For an even deeper clean, Céleteque DermoScience™ Acne Solutions Oil Control Toner (PhP 75.00 for 65 ml or PhP 117.00 125 ml) has Aloe Vera and Chamomile Extracts that help soothe the skin while removing the last traces of stubborn dirt.
TREAT
A favorite in the Acne Solutions line is the Céleteque DermoScience™ Acne Solutions Acne Spot Corrector Gel (PhP 169.00 for 5 ml). It’s spot solution that is infused with Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) and Poly Hydroxy Acid (PHA) that aid in exfoliating dead skin cells and help in diminishing pimples and other acne imperfections. Aside from combating present pimples, it also contains Lilac Leaf Cell Culture Extract that helps reduce sebum production to prevent future acne breakouts.
MOISTURIZE
The Céleteque DermoScience™ Acne Solutions Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel (PhP 335.00 for 50 ml) has Salicylic Acid that breaks down blockage in pores and Acnacidol™ BG that helps reduce sebum secretion and inhibits the development of acne-causing bacteria. It is relevant to control excessive sebum production in order to prevent future breakouts. The great part about this moisturizing solution is its non-sticky gel formulation. As it also has French Spring Water for significant smoothening and moisturization of the skin.
The Céleteque DermoScience line is available in all leading drugstores, beauty stores, and supermarkets nationwide.
Review: iWhite Nose Pack & Pore Purifying Balm
Annyeong! I just want to share that I've just finished watching  W-2 Worlds Final Episode 16 today. Breaks my heart to see how it ended, its like a bittersweet ending really. To those who likes korean dramas, I highly recommend that you watch it. Its a drama with a very unique plot and never ending twist and turns.
YAY so off to our review for today, actually since they are meant to be used together I would be also reviewing them at the same time. *Drum roll~*  The review today is about iWhite Nose Pack & iWhite Pore Purifying Balm.
I haven't used iWhite Nose Pack in ages. My blackheads is not as bad as before, but my boyfriend would like to get rid of his nose blackheads. Why not let him try? I bet this can be an experience for guys who doesn't give attention to their skin. Oh well, boyfie's skin is already nice and flawless to start with. WTH, and he doesn't even need to take care of it as much as I do! Very confusing, why oh why, and here we are, jumping from one product to another.
Anyhow iWhite Pore Purifying Balm is a new addition the skincare line of iWhite. I was quite doubtful on what it is or what difference it can make to the effect of the old nose pack so I took the plunge. We are so lucky that they sell it in individual packs/sachets so just in case it doesn't work on us it won't cost us too much.
What is it?
iWhite says:  Pore Purifying Balm helps remove stubborn pore clogging oils, dirt and toxins
Packaging
Again, similar to the iWhite 2 Minute Miracle Whitening Mask I've only seen the Pore Purifying Balm in sachets. The iWhite Nose pack on the other hand is available on tube packaging.
Experience
First things first, iWhite Pore Purifying Balm is whitish gel which gave our noses the warm sensation after application.
After one minute, we massaged the product which turned pale white. I applied the product on my T-zone and a bit on my cheeks. Warm warm warm~
Badudum~ after wiping off our noses clean with the Purifying balm, here comes the nosepack.
Boyfie kinda said that the iWhite nosepack smells like alcohol. It felt nice and cool to apply it after the pore balm. As always the iWhite nosepack is still as sticky as ever. Its a bit messy to apply to be honest. Its recommended to apply the product thickly so it will be easy to peel it off later. While waiting I felt the urge to scratch my nose, uh-well its itchy, did anyone felt the same?
Boyfie never tried nose packs or nose strips before, so this is something new for him. Who knows removing blackheads can be a bonding time? Yay. Nose packs are awesome nose savers which makes removing icky dirt like blackheads or whiteheads easier to remove.
And so we applied the nosepack right after the Pore Purifying Balm. Credits to boyfie's nose, hohoho~
So after the waiting time we removed it from the tip of noses, peeling the mask off upwards. There were whiteheads both from my nose and a bit from my cheeks. Same with boyfie, he was amazed with what the iWhite nose pack removed from his nose.
How much and where to buy?
Pore Purifying Balm & nose pack is both P18 pesos each sachet.
For the iWhite Nose Pack which is available in tube its only P199
What I love
  • Affordable
  • Effective on nasty whiteheads (not blackheads though)
  • Did not broke me out
  • No irritations
What I don't
  • Messy to apply
  • Nose pack smells like alcohol
  • Makes my nose itchy
Will I repurchase?
Maybe
Overall~
 iWhite Nose Pack & Pore Purifying Balm goes hand in hand for easy whiteheads removal but does nothing on blackheads. I fely itchy with the nosepack but its bearable, I might try other brands to see how it fares with iWhite nosepack. For the mean time you might want to try it out, its cheap and gets rid with whiteheads with just measly P18! That is better than forcing to get the gunk out yourself? Yes?
Update: I used Palty Milk Tea Bubble version for my hair last night. Want to see it? Catch me on my next review! : )
Review: iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle
The week passes by so quickly nowadays. Is it because we are all anticipating for the weekends? This post has been in my drafts for a while. I bought iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle thinking that it was just a normal whitening mask. However there is more to it, read on:
What is it?
iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle is a specially formulated mask that gives the skin a healthy dose of whitening care with all natural active ingredients. Within 2 minutes of application, your skin receives pampering through active skin brightening nourishment, hydration and relaxation. This mask also helps in the prevention and reduction of acne and controls excessive oiliness while keeping the skin moisturized.
Active Ingredients:
Limonia Acidissima Extract, Lonicera Caprifolium Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (Aloe Vera Leaf Extract)
Packaging
Right now I haven't seen a tube version so only sachets are only available for now. The packaging is simple and stays true iWhite's girly vibe.
Directions:
  1. On clean & dry face apply on your face avoiding the eye area.
  2. Leave for 2 minutes until the gel's texture is watery.
  3. Once the mask starts to liquify massage on circular motion.
Experience
At first I was thinking that iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle is in a white cream form similar to their nose pack. However surprise surprise, its in gel form!
The product smells like subtle fresh scent. When applied I immediately felt that it gives hydration to my skin. I didn't even know what it means by exfoliation until the 2 minutes waiting time ended. I slowly massaged my face with the dried watery gel then little white blobs which seems to be dead skin appeared. 'I use facial scrub 2-3 times a week so what is this?' as I am dumb founded with amazement that its no ordinary facial mask.
While washing it off I was so surprised because my skin was so smooth! It was never that smooth before. My face looks brighter and its so fascinating what a gentle exfoliator can do. I was really planning to buy Cure Aqua Gel but its expensive for me at the moment. I am saying that this 2 Minute Whitening Miracle can be a good alternative for it. I cannot say the difference because I didn't tried the latter yet.
I didn't used too much in one application so I guess I can use it for about 3 times.
How much and where to buy?
P24.50 per 8ml sachet in Watsons
What I love
  • Subtle fresh scent
  • Gentle exfoliation
  • Skin felt sooooo smooth while rinsing
  • Brightens face
  • Hydrates
  • didn't break me out
  • no irritation
  • Affordable
What I don't
  • Nothing I can mention
TIPS
If you use this, skip on facial scrub or there will be to much exfoliation already
Will I repurchase?
YES!
Overall~
 iWhite Korea 2 Minute Whitening Miracle is indeed miracle in a gel. Its a very nice gentle exfoliator that doubles up as whitening mask. I cannot attest the whitening effect yet but its so fun to use! Its best to use this twice a week in place of your facial scrub.
What is your favorite face exfoliator/scrub right now? Share with us in the comments! :)
