Chien's Holy Grail List of 2013

So because 2013 has just ended, I thought of compiling a list of my HG selections from the products I've used from last year.

Take note that some products is already reviewed while others are not. I will try to blog more despite this busy schedule of mine. I am so glad that most of the products I have added in my HG list are accessible and affordable.I am still slowly building my HG list, and I am still on the lookout for facial scrubs, moisturizer, lotion etc.

Okay before we take off, what is HG?

HG means Holy Grail -It pertains to any product that you will always come back to because you cannot find anything better. A product you will buy again and again. A product you will not let yourself run out of.

On me: Fashion 21 two-way cake foundie (Shade #2), Etude House Fresh Cherry tint in Peach, Sparkle Lens in Black

MAKE UP
Best powder foundation for any skin day! Yes it does not matter if it is a good or bad skin day, I just love this foundation. Shade 1 and 2 is lighter than my face but perfect as it makes you picture-ready, while shade 3 is good for oh-so-normal days of mine (school, OJT...) and shade 4 might my sister. She has a slightly darker skin tone than mine, but overall if I would look it, Fashion 21 doesn't really offer a dark shade. Their darkest shade can still be considered as natural.
  • LA Colors Mascara
No clumps, no fall outs and lengthens lashes. Need I say more?

HAIR CARE
  • Avon's Advance Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield Anti-Frizz Treatment
Tames my frizz in an instant. Sometimes it can make my hair oily if I by any chance I applied more than what I need.

SKIN CARE
  • BL Cream
This is not a beauty product but hey! This is something worth repurchasing. It clears my occasional pimple breakouts and skin allergies. Not good for long term use because again, it is not really considered as a beauty product.
  • Kojie san Dream White Soap
After  my misfortune with a whitening soap, Kojie san comes to the rescue. This soap does not just whiten but can also correct any dark spots left by skin allergies and bug bites.
Definitely my favorite body scrub because it does not just exfoliates, it can also whiten! I've proven this to work within just a week. This spells LOVE.
I am never going back to plucking and shaving. Contrary to what out other sissies have tend to believe in, using cold wax to remove hair involves less pain (even pain free if you are used to it).
The most affordable acne gel I came across with. Awesome breakout buddy, coz meeeen~ it works!
Cleans as it moisturizes skin. Hoping to try its facial scrub and moisturizer counterpart soon.

A local product that simply works. Squeaky clean face any time, every time. :)

I am still looking forward for more beauty products to try this 2014!~ (I am so AFNSGMHMHMW, excited!) Dear sissies, I hope you can also share your HG list with me! :)

Review: Covergirl AquaSmooth Compact Foundation

Covergirl AquaSmooth Compact Foundation
What Cover girl says about the product:
Designed with AquaCurrent Science, this vitamin-enriched formula directs moisture to your skin's surface to improve its condition over time, while giving smooth, even coverage that makes imperfections virtually vanish before your eyes. This solid makeup transforms into a liquid during application, then dries to an even, powder-light finish. Oil-Free and Noncomedogenic (won't clog pores) SPF 15 UVA/UVB Sunscreen Vitamins B3, B5, and E
Credits: Covergirl

Instructions:
  1. Using the sponge puff, apply a small amount of AquaSmooth Compact Foundation to the center of your cheeks and forehead.
  2. Avoid creating a mask by blending towards the edges of your face, concentrating on uneven areas and decreasing intensity towards the hairline.
  3. Don't rub! Lightly dabbing will remove excess foundation without smearing or removing the good stuff.
***

I bought Covergirl AquaSmooth Compact Foundation from a bazaar, this is my first cream foundation and I am thrilled to try something new!

The Look
There is nothing special with the packaging but I find that the mirror is too small. It might do if I have no other options for a face mirror.

My Experience
I got the shade 'Creamy Natural' which is perfect for my skintone. The first thing I noticed is the fact that a little goes a long way! Product will surely last a long time. The coverage is awesome and I don't need concealer anymore. The foundation is light and non-sticky, almost comparable to powder foundation feel and it glides on smoothly on my skin. I still prefer using moisturizer and/or primer beforehand though. It does not oxidize on me and after it melts my face seems glowing (think of bb cream/ mineral powder look) but take note that it is oil-free! It does not give me comedones on the nose unlike bb creams what bb creams does (personal problem). It is a delight that it has SPF but I still recommend the usage of sunblock.

How much?
Php545 for 12 grams product

Where to buy?
Landmark, SM beauty section

What I love:

  • No breakouts
  • Makes skin flawless-looking with glow.
  • Not sticky
  • Light almost comparable to powder foundie
  • Medium coverage
  • No need for concealer because it covers blemishes well
  • Little product lasts a long way
  • Cream and blends like a dream because of powder like finish.
  • Natural oils blended after 20 to 30 minutes, it will look more natural
  • White cast on flash photography because of SPF
What I don't:
  • Small mirror
  • Messy/hassle application because it is in cream form
TIPS:
Bring blotting paper you might still need to blot oil every now and then.
Not a camera friendly make-up so try to avoid using this on events/ parties where cameras are everywhere.

Overall~
I love my experience on my very first cream foundation, but I will still use Fashion 21 foundie when I am in a hurry. I might buy another one but I would want to try some other brands first like James Cooper or Pinkie Swear.

Review: ActiveWhite Bleaching Soap Review

Wow Merry Christmas! Long time no update, yeah sorry I have been too focused on my on-the-job training. But it is all worth it, they've already asked me to become part of their company. *throws confetti*

Yay so a few updates, just been having a good time shopping and browsing online (Zalora, Eazyfashion, Sampleroom) since I have no time to stroll at the mall. I have also bought a 2nd hand phone from tipidcp.com (TIP: be extra cautious on how to deal with sellers, better transact with those who already have feedback). I bid goodbye to my old Myphone T23 Duo which has served me for three years. It is still working but I opt to upgrade to Myphone A888 for the sake of viewing better videos. Hooray! Now I enjoy playing with an Android game shared by my special someone: MyBoo, too bad that I can't update it over wifi due to an error. That was me, being all random again. So off to a review for today:

ActiveWhite Bleaching Soap Skin Whitener with Glutathione says:
A great soap for dark and discolored skin. Target problem spots and combat hyperpigmentation with this special intense whitening soap that combines a bleaching formula with glutathione. Have smooth and fair skin that glows.

Ingredients: Coconut oil, Caustic Soda, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Silictae, Castor Oil, Cocomide DEA, Scent, Alpha Hyoroxyl Acid, Milk Extract, Phenoxythanol, L-Glutathione, Beta Arbutin, De-Ionized Water

I was checking out the available whitening soaps in Watsons and oh-well my mind was going in circles when I landed on a decision to purchase Active White Bleaching Soap. Did I made a right decision? Read on to find out.

Seriously, you can't get much info from the website of ActiveWhite here. Based from my research they have just changed their packaging, what I have posted above is the latest since it was just manufactured fresh from this month, Dec 2013 and expiration is far on Dec 2015. The old packaging indicates that it contains L-glutathione which is the selling point of the product. There are not much reviews on the web for ActiveWhite, I already bought the product even before I've read details about it.  I was just brave enough to venture out on using a product I was unfamiliar with.

The look:
I find the marbled look of this soap interesting. (Photo above) I don't know if they have this is other sizes but they currently offer three variants. All of them has the same ingredients except for their special content which differs them from each other: Beta carotene (Blue box - ActiveWhite Bleaching Soap), Rosehip (Orange box - ActiveWhite Rosehip Soap), Plain Glutathione (ActiveWhite Pink box - Glutathione Soap).

The scent:
It has a really faint scent which can be next to nothing. It is perfectly okay with me though, I do prefer unscented beauty products.

The experience:

At first I thought ActiveWhite Bleaching Soap is moisturizing because it is bubbly and it doesn't sting during the first 3 days that I have used it. Truth has to be revealed though, it is still a bleaching soap. I just suddenly experienced itchiness while I was in the office. I found my skin to have some bumps due to dryness, yikes! My skin showed the same reaction when I used bleaching lotion from BCP before. I can't help but become worried if I should continue or stop the usage of the product. My skin was next to being okay before I have used this soap and I kinda regret using it. Within 7 days my skin was micropeeling. Of course just like any bleaching product, skin became a bit darker than its normal color and somehow glossy (sign that skin will peel). It is continuously micro peeling but after a week, I felt like my skin has adjusted to the product. I refrain from using lotion though because I don't think it is fine to use two products at a time. I only apply hydrocortisone cream when my skin is itchy, err... sometimes Katinko because I like it as an itch-reliever too.

The price:
Php 89/ 135g soap

What I love:

  • It lathers well
  • Exfoliated my skin

What I don't:

  • Highly drying
  • Bad reaction of my skin to the soap
  • Cannot use lotion, other products etc
  • Melts fast. Two weeks for a 135 g product.

Will I repurchase?
No. I don't want to risk myself on another skin reaction. ActiveWhite Bleaching Soap is not for me, would not try the other variants lol. I might just purchase real moisturizing soaps next time instead. Boohoo for this misfortune. T^T

Overall~
Did I whiten? It melted even before I can make a valid conclusion, however since my skin is already well-exfoliated then I think whitening products will be more effective.

ActiveWhite  Bleaching Soap is not for me. But what doesn't work on me does not mean won't work on you, and vice versa. Always remember to stop usage if you experienced severe dryness/rashes.

Review: Avon Clearskin Blemish Rescue Instant Spot Corrector

Hello Break outs! Oh its that time of the month again. Yay remember my Avon loot from last time?

Avon Clearskin Blemish Rescue Instant Spot Corrector
. Acne control contains Salicylic Acid 2.0%

Avon says: Formulated with the maximum level of Salicylic Acid and Fast Clear Technology to work fast. This acne treatment helps reduce redness and swelling in just 3 hours.

TO USE: Cleanse skin thoroughly: smooth a thin layer over affected area 1-3 times daily. Starting with 1 application and gradually increasing to 2-3 times daily if needed.

 ***
I tend to have breakouts every month and I only use Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. However I have thought of resorting to acne gels once again to save me from those bad skin days. Avon Clearskin Instant Spot Corrector was already cheap at P99 per tube. I was not expecting much from it but I am tempted to complete the products from their ClearSkin line because each product is already affordable at P99 each.

My Experience
Avon spot corrector comes in a clear gel form. I really can't describe how the acne gel smells but I like it. I only needed a small amount for every application on the affected areas. I tried using  Avon Clearskin Blemish Rescue Instant Spot Corrector before my period days and it works as it's supposed to! I love how I wake up to less inflamed acne. Yes it does work but breakouts from my period days seems to be harder to treat. I needed about 2 days of thrice application before I can see difference.

I have used this before using makeup and it leaves a thin film which cakes a bit once I apply powder foundation. It can stop pimples from growing but I needed to continue using the product before it fully disappears.

Click the photo to check the ingredients
How much?
P99/ 15 ml cheaper than other acne gel in the market. It has more product as well. Bang for the buck! Yay~

Where to buy?
Avon ladies and Avon stalls in the mall

What I like:
  • It does control and dry acne.
  • Size is visibly reduced after 3 hours.
  • Does not leave dark spots unlike other correctors I've tried.
  • Can be applied on acne scars to help it peel
  • Bang for the buck! Less than P100 for a 15ml product.
 What I don't:
  • Product is not accessible
Final thoughts

I am so glad that  Avon Clearskin Blemish Rescue Instant Spot Corrector worked on me I nearly hoarded. It is affordable yet effective. I love affordable goodies! :)
I am sure to buy again on my next Avon order.

How about you sweeties, what is your favorite brand of acne gel?

Mondes Haul + DIY Recolor

Here is my most recent Mondes Haul! Yay! So my roots is already showing and I really wanted to recolor. So as always I dropped by Hortaleza to buy my DIY kit.
Above from left to right is:
Mondes Professional Hair Reborn Treatment
Mondes Professional Hair Color Cream
Mondes Professional Oxidizing Lotion

The price of the items didn't went over P200.

It was last January when I colored my hair black from light brown because of new school rules. Luckily they have changed their minds the next semester and we were allowed to have hair color. Sadly DIY hair tints are not working on my black hair and I needed to bleach. I only bleached once which is not enough to somehow rinse off the black dye which is the reason why I ended up with an uneven hair color. However I still like it way better than having boring black. Sorry for being so childish here. *smile*

Now I have decided to once again color, using the almost same shade which is very light blonde (I used light blonde before) I even bought their Mondes Hair Reborn Treatment which they recommended.

The Mondes Professional Hair Reborn Treatment smells like heavenly yummy strawberries and made my hair more manageable, not so soft though. Mondes Professional Hair Color Cream and Mondes Professional Oxidizing Lotion worked hand in hand, stinky not-so-good chemical smell but I'm quite used to it, err... I did all of the recoloring work myself. It was my first time and no one was available to help me so yeah.

Now after a few days here is the result of my hard work:
It is still uneven! Mix colors of black, brown and light brown but the color is more vibrant than before. Aww I hope you didn't expect full blonde. Well like I've said I only bleached once so the brown color as a result of dyeing is expected.

Yeah I am so joining the 31 day Blogging Challenge! Start is todaaaay!~ <3

Review: 3W Clinic Professional Natural Make Up Powder

Product Background
3W Clinic Translucent Loose Powder(Formerly known as DoDo Palgantong Powder) Dodo Company, the manufacturer of Palgantong has changed its name to 3W Clinic since 2009.

ALL NEW versions of palgantong powder now use the name of 3W Clinic .This is the professional version used by professional backstage make-up artists and are imported directly from Korea.

PALGANTONG was first launched in Korea in 1999. It is very popular among Korean Movie Stars and 4 out of 5 Korean ladies have tried this amazing power. It was only introduced to professional make-up artists, such as those who worked for Korean TV broadcast stations like SBS and KBS. In 1989, more professional make-up artists started to use the theatrical powder.

The 3W Clinic Professional Natural Makeup Powder is a very well known product to entertainers. Some fair/white skinned asian women tend to look more chubby and fleshy during photoshoots. This is why Korean actresses depend on this powder to give them better results in front of the camera.

Since 1999, this best hit product has been selling well to non-entertainers too. It is now the best selling powder in Korea, Japan and Hong Kong. A record 600 million sold from 2002 to 2006 in Japan's critical cosmetic market. Therefore, it was selected as Japan’s Top Hit product and secures the 1st selling position in Japan's loose powder section.

Slimming Effect : Makes your face look slimmer with a three-dimension effect caused by light reflection
Long Lasting Effect: Strong against water or sweat. Does not stain/smudge easily.Excellent long lasting functional powder
Blooming Effect : The scattering effect of the light-scattering powder creates bright and splendid skin.
Super Hydrating Effect : Maintains your skin's moisture all day long. It prevents moisture evaporation and thus creating silky skin

#21 - Light Beige is Light color for fair skin.
#23 - Natural Beige is original beige for Asian women
#10 - Transparent Pearl is light color and gives your face a "dewy" effect

Recommended Use:After your last step of the skin care, take appropriate amount of SunBlock or BB cream and apply evenly on your face or on targeted areas.Next, adjust amount of powder with puff inside, and follow with a light layer of "Palgantong Powder".

If you want a "dewy" effect (rather than cover), then apply transparent pearl.

 ***

I was sold on 3W Clinic powder because it was said to blur out pores and makes you look great on photos. You know how much I love taking selcas. Haha. Talking about being vain and all that. I bought mine in Hipstyle Online Shop in Facebook. Transaction was fast and easy because the products are on-hand. Yay no more waiting time! :)
Besides facebook shops I have also seen this being sold in ebay. I am not sure where to get them in Manila though because as far as I know it is just being sold online.

The look
Yay it is big! It is red, yay professional? Haha. Well the packaging is simple, made of plastic and safe for clumsy gals like me. It's big and quite bulky but I love it.

My Experience:
Yay well 3W Clinic Professional is indeed living up to its hype. It is comparable to Eshiko which is another popular finishing powder but has a steep price. I am thinking of having a side by side comparison review next time. It does soften the look of the pores but not totally diminish it. I like the scent of this powder, it's really girly, though usually I like scentless powders better.

It's understandable that it gives no coverage since it is a finishing powder but it has subtle color which doesn't really show once applied. Based on other online reviews there is not much difference on shade # 21 and 23 although some of them says that shade # 21 is for fair-skinned girls with pink undertone while the other is for yellow under tone. On swatches there is not really too much difference.

I am curious on Shade# 10 which is suppose to give the dewy effect. Okay going back to their promises, is this powder giving the effects promised?

Slimming and long lasting is not in my list. I can't see much difference on my face but maybe because my face is already slim to begin with? Hmm~ I dunno. I find that this powder does not control oil but it looks okay but not dewy like mineral make-up after melt effect. I can agree that it does give the blooming effect upon application. It's just fresh and natural. I can't attest to the super hydrating effect, I still moisturize before applying this. I really don't believe that a powder can hydrate the skin but it is not a really dry type of powder. It's somehow soft and creamy and applies like a dream.

How much? P295 per tub
Where to buy? Facebook online shops and ebay

What I like:

  • No white cast
  • Soft glowy effect as if photo was photo shopped
  • Does mattify but it doesn't make my face look flat
  • Works great on top of bb creams and powder foundation!
  • Does not cake
  • Finely milled
  • Light as if you don't put anything
  • Floral scent not over powering.
  • Does not highlight dry patches
  • Doesn't oxidize
  • Shade is #21 but color is not really evident when worn because it goes on translucent.
  • A big tub of powder! Yaay so I bought this to become more photo ready! Yessh~
  • Powder goes on smooth
  • Doesn't affect blush
  • Totally softens the look of pores
  • Best finishing powder I've tried so far!
  • I look fresh instantly whenever I use this (No exaggeration!)

What I don't:

  • Doesn't last long
  • No oil control
  • Everything on the box is in korean except the product name itself.
  • Container is quite bulky
  • No SPF
  • No coverage
  • Product not accessible
Over all thoughts:
Hooray 3W Clinic Powder is super sulit! :) I never really paid attention to the importance of finishing powders until I have used this powder. A tub contains a lot of product and you'll only need a bit of it for every application. I am pretty sure I would be using this for months.

To end this post here is the worldwide trending music video of Crayon Pop: Bar Bar Bar.

Review: Psalmstre NEW Placenta Herbal Beauty Soap With Goat's Milk

Hello lovelies do you smell the Christmas in the air? The ber months are once again fast approaching! The weather is warm and lovely again and clearly no signs of Christmas yet but the month is enough to get me excited! Last night I browsed online for possible gift ideas and found Zalora'sChristmas Gift Guide! Yay~ quickly spotted something I can give for my sister's debut this September. Hihi~ I also noticed that there is also a wide range of beauty products available and I think they would make great Christmas gifts for my friends too.

Besides that I am so excited for the coming weeks because we will soon arrange our very own college convention kyaa~ and I still need to look for possible sponsors. By the way today, I'll talk about a soap I should have reviewed some weeks ago. Haha, :) One of my best buddies in skin whitening:

Photo credits goes to owner. Forgot to take photos.

Psalmstre NEW Placenta Herbal Beauty Soap With Goat's Milk says:

Now with double-acting anti-aging + goat's milk!

Psalmstre's New Placenta Soap with Goat's Milk is a highly effective, mild, skin-whitening cleansing bar. Thanks to the combined active ingredients such as virgin coconut oil, Vitamin E, Botanical Placenta Extract and with the added skin nutrients in Goat's Milk, this beauty bar is an excellent moisturizer, exfoliant, anti-oxidant, and antibacterial at the same time.

With the high content in skin nutrients and skin-defending manganese from Goat's Milk, your skin will surely be blemish-free, smoother, younger looking, glowing and fair...only with New Placenta Soap with Imported Goat's Milk

Psalmstre NEW Placenta Soap is a highly raved local soap in GT. It has been widely advertised on tv too. It also comes in two variants: classic orange papaya soap and the white one with goat's milk. I chose goat's milk since it's more popular than the first one. Gotta know what the fuzz is all about nae?~

Here is Psalmstre's website in case you are curious with their product range because they have other products besides whitening soaps.

The look:
I got the 135g. biggest size soap. Box is simple and it lets you see the white bar inside.

The scent:
This soap has no scent and it doesn't even lather well. Hoho~

The experience:
I used Psalmstre NEW Placenta Herbal Beauty Soap With Goat's Milk alone to see the full effect it can give. On my first 5 days I experienced dryness which followed by micro peeling. I have used my trustworthy Yoko salt scrub to easily get rid of dead skin cells.

I have dark spots left from insect bites and it has lightened gradually with my every usage. I usually wait for 5 minutes before I wash off, this makes the soap more effective IMO. Elbows, knees lightened as well which is awesome I didn't really expect much from a placenta soap. I am leaning to kojic acid soaps in terms of whitening so this is something different.

However I noticed that my skin became more sensitive after I finished the whole bar. Definitely dry and quite itchy. Yikes. I dunno if this was the rashes that the other sissies were talking about however I am guessing that this has something to do with the severe dryness effect of the soap. You can use highly moisturizing lotion to counter dryness.

I was brave enough to try it on my face too, no breakouts or whatsoever but not recommended because like I've said it is really drying. Skin feels tight after usage. For the face I have decided to stick with facial wash and whitening creams which is more on the safe side. :)

The price:
Around 135g soap retails for about P130? Yay I forgot, I need to check. Product comes in 3 sizes (trial size anyone?)

What I love:
  • It is effective in whitening
  • No scent
  • Doesn't melt easily
  • Lightens scars/ insect bites
  • Affordable and worth the price
  • Gives fast results
What I don't:
  • Highly drying
  • Doesn't lather much
  • Whitening soap that is not meant for long term usage

Will I repurchase?
Yes but some other time after I use other whitening but moisturizing soaps.

TIPS:
  • Wait for 5 minutes or so before washing off the soap lather this makes it more effective.
  • Use scrub to remove dead skin, exfoliating will give you faster results.
  • Always moisturize after usage.
  • Use sunblock when going out. Skin tends to darken easily when we use whitening products.
  • Recommended to be used twice a day but after finishing one bar stop and use other moisturizing soaps.
  • Stop usage if you experienced severe dryness/rashes.
Overall~
Psalmstre NEW Placenta With Goat's Milk is a whitening soap worth the try. In my opinion though it should not be used for anti-aging. in terms of whitening though, this is perfect! Make sure to only use Psalmstre soap once in a while though.

Yay~ btw let me share our group's performance last Sunday as Nine Muses in Hallyu Wave Festival 2013 we got 8th place out of 30 groups who joined so hooray for that, haha. Everything was rushed actually but we'll do better next time:

Review: Fashion 21 Two Way Cake

It was fine Sunday when we attended Mario Maurer's open fan meet in SM North Edsa. I was with my younger sister was my first time to reach the front of the stage, yess finally after coming to so much fan meetings haha. Baifern was super gorgeous and Mario as seen on tv is super good looking. Kyaa~ Crazy Little Thing Called Love is just plain awesome.

We dropped by my shopping haven after - SM department store to check out new stuffs when I remembered that I need a new powder foundation. Hooray~ I intend to buy 4u2 BB powder at first but comparing the two (Fashion 21 two way cake) which I both love to try I have decided to pick the latter. Well I am in a budget right now and I'll stretch my money as far as I can. Another reason for buying is the fact that Fashion 21 has more grams and cheaper than 4U2. Btw I opted to buy this in refill because I already have a unused Avon compact at home. It doesn't just saves money it also saves mother Earth, no more extra compacts to throw away. :)

Honestly this is my very first foundation. Well I do had Maybelline ones before but they seem to be offer very light coverage which make them seem more of being finishing powder rather than foundation. Do I make sense?

Fashion 21 Two Way Cake
Regular foundation that can be applied wet or dry.

Product Features
UV Protection
Oil Control
Mild on skin
Non-cakey
Long lasting
Smooth and easy application
Can be applied wet or dry

There is absolutely a lot of promises. Teehee~ I am so excited to try it on because I do not really use foundations. Need I say more? :)

The scent:
The first thing I noticed with Fashion 21 way cake is the scent. It has a really strong scent which reminds me of Chin Chun Su. I know how other people despise this particular scent.

Coverage:
Foundation offers medium to full coverage. Sadly the color is too pale and does not compliment my skin tone. I have it in shade number one! The palest shade of all yikes. Shade #1 is a tad light on me, it's creamy but can still highlight dry patches. Luckily the foundation sets and blends with my skin tone after a while. It can get cakey if used too much on the under eye area.

My experience:
I get white cast on flash photography but it still looks nice. Yay~ pretty photos. It offers smooth finish and can quickly brighten up complexion. It also lessens the appearance of pores but doesn't totally diminish it. I still use in2it to cover up pores or my good ole pore minimizer sticks and essence.

This foundation has convinced me to try plain powder make-up. I have been using bb creams as make-up base for years but because of this foundation's coverage I tried using the powder alone. Now I can skip bb creams and cut my make-up time in half! Definitely a life-saver when I am running late for school. I have been using bb creams for years now at least I have an alternative when I am in a hurry, just sunblock, moisturizer and this foundie and I am off to go.

Sun protection and oil control is just okay. I don't want to look matte all day anyway. It looks better after a while. Somehow it becomes rather dewy than oily when it wears off. Effect does resemble mineral make-up's effect on me, kinda glowy which I like. I have only tried using this dry, wet application might result to too much foundation. Besides, I am already comfortable using this as is because coverage suffice on covering red blemishes, things are different in terms of dark spots because I still need concealer for those.

Fashion 21 Two Way foundation offers average staying power but I don't mind. Somehow it is powdery but it is cheap soooo~ :) I picked the lightest shade because I am afraid of oxidizing foundations, oh-well this one doesn't oxidize on me maybe because of the shade? It doesn't break me out! Powder does settle on pores when it starts to wear off but I just wipe it off and I am good. My main concern and fear before on foundations is the fact that it might oxidize and might break out. This foundation is such a winner on both aspects! Mehehe~

How much? P130 per 11 gram refill

What I love:
  • It's affordable
  • Product is readily available in Watsons/ SM beauty counters
  • Coverage is awesome
  • Looks so pretty on photos!
  • Doesn't oxidize
  •  Melts to a pretty finish
  • Brightens up complexion
  • Lessens the appearance of pores
  • Didn't gave me break outs

What I don't:
  • I think I got the wrong shade haha. (not the product's fault)
  • Can give you a 'foundation day' look when freshly applied
  • May highlight dry patches
Will I buy again?
YEEEES!~ I am totally impressed with Fashion 21 Two Way Cake I might just need to repurchase a more accurate shade soon. Plus they offer other variants such as papaya, milk and tea tree. I would love to try those too. *excited*

Here are a few photos I want to share from last Hallyu Wave Festival event where I got nice comments on my look, yes I intend to look like a doll for at least a day. I have worn a dress I got from ebay and I made the flower hair pin myself! Yay~  Teehee I covered Park Minha of Nine Muses. :)

A friend who covers VIXX :)
Just me and the stairs haha.
We are Nine (Nine Muses) but this shot only features six of us trying to look like emotionless dolls

Review: Eskinol Spot-less White Facial Deep Cleanser

I am dead serious on changing my skin care routine. Right now I am more into affordable but quality products. There are a lot of things that needs more of my wallet's attention and my mom loves me now for spending less on beauty products.

"Using soap is not enough." Their tag line echoes in my ears and it's a gentle reminder for girls to never be contented with just washing. I never realized the importance of this until I changed my skin care routine. I tend to laze around in doing this important step and I regret that I did!

Eskinol Spot-less White Facial Deep Cleanser With Pure Calamansi Extracts

Instructions for use: Moisten a piece of cotton and apply on face and neck. Repeat until no trace of dirt is seen on the cotton. Use anytime and anywhere to get truly clean skin.

My review:

I have been loving calamansi more and more this days so getting Eskinol Spot-less White variant is no surprise. I have been eager to try this after I emptied my Dickinson's toner. I bought this 2 weeks ago and I am loving it.I use this every after I wash my face and it does the job! I can't comment if it does whiten though nor lighten dark spots but based on my past experience with Eskinol papaya variant it didn't work. I'd see still have to see if this is any different.

In case you are wondering I already tried two variants: papaya and ice pore minimizing. Both cleans well but failed on their extra promise, the whitening and the pore minimizing part. Lol.

This is not the most gentle cleanser you can imagine (there is Dickinson's toner for that) but this helps a lot in ensuring you have a clean face before putting make-up or before going to sleep. I have noticed that my break outs have lessened. I still get pimples on my forehead but that's about it and I stay up so late so there is a reason for it. *typing this at 3AM in the morning eh?~ I am thrilled to use the product more. Yay~

How much? Roughly P38 for 75ml bottle. But there are bigger bottles all priced under hundred bucks!

Where to buy? Watsons or Mercury Drug stores well just about anywhere really! The product is truly accessible.

What I like:
  • It smells so fresh, I really don't mind the alcohol content.
  • Small bottle only lasts for a month or so. Doesn't really matter though because it's so affordable.
  • Dried my skin a bit, but that gave me a reason to moisturize!
  • Leaves my skin squeaky clean. Awesome~
  • I believe in the power of calamansi and it's pure extract can be my skin's best friend!
  • Eskinol is a local brand! :)

What I don't:
  • None!

I think the brand itself won't be staying long in the market if it's not patronized by the market. This product is a no brainer really. It does the job for it's price. I am planning to try the other variants after this but that will only happen if I don't purchase the bigger bottle of Eskinol's Spot-less White variant. *wink*

***

And to end this post, the newest song from Girl's Day: Please tell me! I can relate with the meaning! LOL. It's about a guy and girl both waiting for a confession from each other. Haha. The song is fun and so does the dance. Their every performance is full of aegyo, gaah for pulling off this easily right after the sexy of their past 2 songs. Okay enough fan girling, meh?~ Girl's Day feels. <3

PS: Yay no photos,(I forgot). Will take photos later.

Review: Lioele Blooming Pop Pinky Tint

I really like the lips sported by Korean actresses. I rarely see bold colors and lippies, it's more of tints and natural looking lips in pink or peach. It happens that I really like tints a lot and I always swatch any tint on make-up counters to see if they are good. Most of tints available in the malls are liquid and gel and they are either in red, red orange or reddish pink. I love the fact that they are mostly 2-in-1 products because it doesn't just saves time but saves space in my kikay kit as well. I won't say that it saves money because I know it won't. I still buy make-ups despite having numerous items already irregardless if they are 2-in-1 or not. Yes I am a make-up addict and a slight impulse buyer. Tell me that I am not alone!~ *lol*

Okay so I just grabbed myself a milky tint. Milky tints are so raved years ago until now. I am curious to death on how it fares so I've gotten my own bottle, my first milky tint is from Lioele.

 Product Description:

A stain that plants a kiss of see-through tint on cheeks and lips.Soft and moisture absorbing milk lotion with stickiness.Hours of smudge-proof and water-proof.

It comes in 3 variants: Orange tintpinky tint and cherry tint.

I only use Lioele Blooming Pop Pinky Tint on my lips. Color is too sheer for my cheeks and besides, the moisturizing property by this tint is not appropriate for cheeks IMO. On my lips I can layer on the product to build up the color intensity. The shade deepens after a few seconds though, which is quite interesting. Don't be fooled by the fluorescent pink shade in the bottle because it applies as sheer or pink depends on how you use it.
The smell is like cherries, it comes off a bit strong but goes away quickly after application. Color somehow stains even after a bit of eating snacks, not heavy meals. Though personally I like wiping the thing off because I feel like it looks uneven, but that's just me. :)

What I love:
  • Cute packaging like a nail polish (just like my Bench tint here minus the handle)
  • Color is more like neon/fluorescent pink
  • Smells like cherries
  • Has no weird taste
  • Creamy texture
  • Color is light pink when freshly applied but changes into a deeper shade of pink after a minute
  • Color is buildable.
  • Perfect base for gradient lips effect!
  • Lasts long, there is color still visible even after drinking and eating.

What I don't:
  • It leaves a bit of tingling sensation right after application
  • I won't know how much product is left
  • Leaves lips feeling moisturized but may still highlight dry patches
  • Light feeling on lips like you didn't put anything
  • Leaves a white film on lips after an hour or so (have you experienced this?)
Reason why quoted from a Thriftyfun question:
It's not the lip product, it's dried saliva. You would otherwise lick your lips often enough to keep it collected. Just tiptoe to the ladies' room, tissue off the lip gloss, wash with moistened tissues, and reapply, then step out looking dewy and lovely again. I'm a dental hygienist, and believe it or not, this is a common question.

How much?
P495/ 8g.

This product is perfect for light make-up look. I am looking forward to using more of milky tints of different color and brand next time. How about you lovelies, any tint favorites?
