It has been pretty rainy lately. I couldn't go out with friends yesterday — but it wasn't raining too much today. Talk about timing. Today's review is long overdue. I was looking for a product to brighten my underarm when I found NRB Magic Underarm Whitening Deo Cream.

What is it?

Experience
I bought NRB Magic Underarm Whitening Deo Cream with hopeful spirits that it will work so I made sure to buy at the correct price and availed 2 tubs. It has a fragrant scent and the texture of the product is pretty much similar to tawas. I am not sure why they call it 'cream' because the texture is nowhere similar to a cream. When opened for too long, the product loses moisture as well (similar to tawas) then I needed to rehydrate it with water so I can use it again.

How much and where to buy it?
It comes in 2 sizes 20g and 40g.

What I love

• Affordable

What I don't

• It didn't make any difference on my underarm.
• Texture is not cream but grainy, similar to tawas or rock salts.

Will I repurchase? 
No.

Overall~ 
Sadly NRB Magic Underarm Whitening Deo Cream didn't work on me. It was great to see other positive reviews on this underarm whitening product, but I didn't see any difference after 2 tubs. I was actually late when I searched and found out that FDA warned consumers regarding the purchase of the product last year.

My search for the best underarm whitening cream continues!

Review: The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil

I've been busy lately and haven't had the time to update my blog. I'm so sorry for that. It's for professional reasons, though, so I hope you guys can understand. I have a lot going on in my mind right now but I still had the chance to look at my statistics and saw you guys still visit my website often! I'm happy and felt I owe you more! So let's go to the review I've been wanting to post since forever. This product is often in my 'on the way' packages because I order it so often whenever I ran out. For today's entry, we're reviewing The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil.

What is it? 

The Body Shop says:

How to use The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil:

2. Use fingertips or a cotton bud and gently pat the skin.
3. For best results, prep your skin with the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash and Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner.

Packaging
The tea tree oil is inside an amber deep green colored plastic bottle which comes in 10ml and 20ml sizes. The cap is quite secure which prevents spillage in case you want to lug this inside your bag. The tip of the bottle is narrow so it only dispenses just enough product for every application.

Experience

Contrary to its name, The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil is in a more liquid form so it's very runny. My mom says the tea tree oil smells like a mint herb and she doesn't like it much, but for me (who loves mint), it simply smells refreshing. I don't mind it when I apply it to my face. I normally use it as a spot treatment after The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial wash and toner. I apply it using my fingers and it spreads easily. The oil is also fully absorbed by my skin. It doesn't leave any sticky feeling at all. 

The tea tree oil treats my pimple by gently drying them out. I make sure to apply it a few times within the day. The bump and redness go away after just one night. For severe cases, it takes a maximum of 3 days. But to put it simply, it does the job.

I've been using tea tree oil for more than a year already and I'm satisfied with the product. I also repurchased the toner and facial wash from the travel set and I love the result! Kindly let me know if you want another review with the full set.

Overall~ 
If you have pimples, I'll highly recommend this product to you. Tea tree oil is a strong astringent and for my skin, it's the best ingredient for acne control. Although the price may be high, it's a good investment since a little goes a long way. With The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil, your breakouts will subside in no time! This is one of my favorite skincare products and would repurchase it again.

Review: Rosmar Kagayaku Bleaching Whipped Soap

Hola, it's the weekend! Pretty cool how it's now August, and then next month is already the start of Ber months? But did you know that I've only been to the beach like 2 weeks back? So yes, now I have these late summer tan lines and I can't wait to get my original skin tone back. To be honest, our review for today is about a whitening soap I've been using for a while now. I saw a friend get this and my mom kept on asking if it works because it was trending so I gave in. The newest addition to my stash right now is Rosmar Kagayaku Bleaching Whipped Soap.

What is it? 

Rosmar Kagayaku Bleaching Whipped Soap contains Glutathione, Collagen, and Alpha Arbutin

How to use:

Use morning and night. Lather the soap and massage on the face/body. Leave for 2-3 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water.

The soap when bought in retail comes in plastic with a pink and white label in front. 

Experience
Rosmar Kagayaku Soap only comes in 70g. I think this is a good size for trying the product. It has a light vanilla scent, not overpowering. The soap lathers well and I followed their instructions to leave it on my skin for at least 2 minutes before rinsing. The soap, fortunately, doesn't have any side effects. It doesn't even sting which is typical for whitening and bleaching soaps I've tried.

However, the question is, does Rosmar Kagayaku Bleaching Whipped Soap whiten skin? As I've mentioned I have bizarre tan lines right now and after a week it has considerably lightened. Don't get me wrong here, I've been also using Rosmar soap prior to my beach getaway but I think lightening tan lines can be the ultimate test for it. I am thinking of posting a follow-up on my Instagram here, so make sure to follow me there so you're updated!

They say Rosmar Kagayaku Soap has fake versions, so it's best to stick to a reputable Shopee seller. Shops with any counterfeit product are a dead giveaway that their other items are fake too. I love this soap and if you are looking for a non-harsh product that is worth trying then Rosmar Kagayaku soap is for you. I'll update this post with photos soon!

Hello August, I am still alive and kicking! I know I've been MIA far too long. I procrastinate too much. Nowadays I've preferred a laid-back back life of just working at home. No make-up, just a layer of sunblock. I lived with just using my Pax Moly Doctor Whitening Cream but then I finished my stocks so I knew I needed a new brand. I became curious about Her Skin Secret Glow Tone Up Cream with SPF 30.

It's in a cute baby blue plastic tube which is cute and portable. The expiration date is clearly printed on the back of the tube. It dispenses just the right amount of product every time which is great because a small amount of cream goes a long way.

Experience
I initially bought Her Skin Secret Glow Tone-Up Cream with SPF 30 because I needed an alternative to my previous trustworthy tone-up/ sunblock cream. I didn't have any expectations at all. My first impression is that it smells so nice with its mild floral scent. HerSkin Tone Up cream itself feels like silk on the skin. It is not watery by any chance but it is absorbed quickly when applied. It makes my pores less visible, adds up the glow, and evens out my skin tone. The cream is very lightweight like you did not put any cream at all.

I love how this feels like nothing yet you'll still look naturally glowing. If you are going out then you can use this as a primer or extra protection from the sun. It's very affordable and it works!

Back to reading: APOP Books Loot!

Reading is one of my long-lost hobbies. Ever since I started working I lost all the time and enthusiasm I had for reading. While scrolling through my Facebook feed I've seen one of my friends showing her book from APOP.

I've checked our their page and the quotes from their books quickly captured my attention.

I want something fun yet inspiring at the same. Something that can spark my love for reading once again. And so, fast forward to now I got all of the APOP books (back in June). 

I was able to finish Origin 1cm then slowly read Being comfortable without effort. I can totally relate to the author's experience in life. I decided to live as me seems to be another good book for self-reflection. Then the other 2 books Love is... are like photo books I've seen related to the Korean drama W 2 Worlds.

Anyhow, I am just happy to be able to finish reading books again. How about you, what is your current hobby?

Have you ever heard the saying if you can't change your surroundings, change your hair color? I am feeling a bit gloomy so to change my state of mind right now I've decided to recolor my hair. I don't want to spend a fortune on changing it though, and I don't want to use harsh chemicals. I have searched for something easy to use and also temporary because I can't decide on a  fixed color. I've found Merry Sun Shining Colored Cellowax and saw positive feedback on it so I bought various colors!

What is it?

It's an easy-to-use hair coloring product that can be used right in the comfort of your home. Just follow the instruction and you can treat your hair without fuss. It would only take a few minutes to change the color of your hair. 

I got Merry Sun Shining Colored  Cellowax in black, pink, blue, violet, light blonde, natural, fiery orange, black, blue, and believe it or not, they even have rose gold!

It's in sachets, quite a pain to keep if you are only using half of it. 

Experience
I have used it on dry hair. At first, I mixed the pink Cellowax and conditioner together before applying them to my hair. I've only used 2 sachets to get the correct shade on my hair. I've noticed it didn't have any bleeding on water or towels afterward which is a huge plus. I usually stain even the tiles when I was using the Chroma Cellowax which is another temporary DIY hair color brand.

To be honest, I like the faded color better because it looks like rose gold. But the bubble gum pink shade is also lovely. 

(this is what the product looks like except the round sticker says pink. I've already thrown the sachet I've used as of writing this entry)

How much and where to buy it?
I got this for only 45 per 60ml sachet.

What I love

Games I play this Quarantine Period

With the existence of COVID 19's Delta variant, strict restrictions were implemented once again. I thought of doing something fun for a change so while on a month of quarantine I've decided to play some games. During this time I also signed up with Steam and tried getting used to using Discord. We use Discord to talk while playing, I'm amazed how there is no lag or stutter. Anyway, I'm sharing it here so in case you like any of the games, we can go and play together!

Stardew Valley

You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life!

The game is pixelated and brings back old game visuals. I remember the Pokemon game on Nintendo. There is much more to the game than farming. It has this calming, laid-back feeling which calms me while I play. You can also make a coop farm with a friend so you can nurture your farm together. Our farm's name is My Applepeach which is our favorite fruit. I've chosen to play this on Steam (or via computer) because the Android version won't allow multi-players.

Cooking Battle!

Cooking Battle is a fast-paced multiplayer cooking game! Play with friends! Choose different stylish chefs to compete in the kitchen.

This is a really fun casual game. I thought it will be a highly upgraded Diner Dash, but no. I like the whole gameplay. It is so enjoyable. You will be heated up by how fast the time ticks and you are still not done chopping and cooking. The excitement comes from the need to play with someone and you are both allowed to choose your own chefs with different cooking abilities!

Review: Ling Zhi Chuang Yao Wan

I often encounter weight loss programs online and I see a lot of people complaining about their extra fat too. Gyms and a lot of activity areas are always available for those who want to shed weight however I have a different problem. Ever since I've started working night shifts I've lost my love for food. I still eat but only because it's needed! I've suffered from loss of appetite for about 3 years. Looking at products available online I see weight gain chocolate drinks and appetite boosting syrups which are mostly catered to kids. One product that stood out to me though is this medicine aka vitamins called Ling Zhi Chuang Yao Wan. 

What is it?
Ling Zhi's origin is China which is obvious because of the name. It states on the box that it is used for:

• General weakness
• Untimely senility
• Neurasthenia
• Waist ache and backache
• Over fatigue
• Poor memory
• Insomnia
• Involuntary perspiration
• Poor appetite etc

Okay so seriously, that is a lot of benefits. However, Ling Zhi has become really popular for being an effective weight gain pill.

Maybe you are thinking why do I need to take capsules if I can just eat more? To be honest, my condition is serious. I can get through the day with just one meal and one glass of water. I really don't know how to get through the days. Pandemic has hit me hard and also the fact that I came from a breakup this December. I was so thin. My dad says I looked like a walking skull already although I think it's just an exaggeration.

Packaging
The box has this scannable QR code you can use to check the product authenticity. I luckily got legit products but just a heads up, there are a lot of counterfeit Ling Zhi Chuang Yao Wan in the market right now. Make sure to only buy from the trusted shops.

Ling Zhi's capsule size is pretty normal. I didn't have a hard time taking it. it is color maroon red and the 50 capsules bottle has a white capsule at the end.

Experience

At first take, I have experienced LBM. I am not really sure if I should attribute it to the capsules but it is what happened. The next intakes were normal though. What I did I took one capsule in the morning and another one at night.  I noticed how it affected my sleeping pattern. I was always sleepy. Even when I already slept more than 8 hours (which I don't normally do) I still felt sleepy.

I also ate more than I normally do after a week of taking the capsules. It's not like I feel always hungry. It's more like I already appreciated the food. I became less choosy with the kind of food I eat as well.

How much and where to buy?

P350 for 50 capsules. But they did a price hike ever since the pandemic started.

What I love

• I added some weight after consuming one bottle
• My face became rounder!
• My appetite came back

What I don't

• Too much drowsiness that doesn't easily wear off
• I don't know what is inside the capsules 
• Authentic Ling Zhi is hard to find (!)
• Initial diarrhea effect 

Will I repurchase? 
I did but the effect wasn't the same anymore.

Overall~ 
What is in this supplement? I really wanna know. I like that I was able to bring back my love for food. I also grew cheeks! That was a big achievement. I will try and do a video on this as well as update this post with pictures. I did lose my fats a bit after a few months of not taking Ling Zhi but my appetite was still there. I am able to eat normally which is a good thing. I tried repurchasing another bottle but the effect is not as good as when I took it the first time. I don't think I will repurchase any time again soon though.

My Name is Chien Welcomes 2021!

This will be my first post for the year and instead of my usual review I've decided to do a welcome year post instead. How is everyone doing? 

The year 2020 is one hell of a ride for everyone. I know that it hasn't been easy and a lot has happened not just with the pandemic but also with the natural disaster that occurred in the Philippines. I want to stay positive that 2021 will be a better year for us. For today, I just want to share a bit of a rundown of what is happening in my life recently.

Crypto trading
Tried this a few days before New Year! There is a lot of things to learn and stuff. We lost a few dollars as well haha, which is pretty usual for newbies. If you are into this, I am willing to be coached! 😂

Total of 15 cats and counting...
Our cats kept on multiplying. We recently had 4 new kittens in the house. Then we also lost our favorite cat Luna on New year's day. Glad my brother found him the next day even when we thought we won't. God is good. 

Reading books!
Yes, I have forgotten about this for a while. I went back to reading. Life should be a continuous learning process. I'm trying to incorporate this into my daily routine although sometimes I get lazy.

Cleared my skin! (somehow)
Finally found my holy grail set of products. I will share this in a video review definitely. This has been the best state of my skin so far in my 28 years of life. Maybe because of better eating habits and because I don't go out much so I don't get too much pollution, but hey I am happy!

Got my Youtube channel monetized

It was a result of a year of hard work! I plan on doing a giveaway. I just haven't gotten around it yet but I will! 

Importance of Goals

This gets me motivated. I aim to have a more productive year on and offline. I want to be a real busy bee this year and I hope to stop procrastinating! I need to get more blog posts and video reviews up, I have a ton pending!

Self-love!
The hardships really made me more matured during this trying time. I've realized I've been too absorbed in making other people happy and important that I forget that I also matter. I was so lost when I was left alone at the start of the year. I have dedicated my life to someone who doesn't really value me. I strived to become someone better, I met a lot of people online too who've changed my views on life and gave me a few lessons on how I should handle situations. I've also learned the value of friends and family in my life. I also found my lost confidence and somehow managed to become a new person! Indeed, this is a new year for a new me!

I bought and tried their GOAL Intense Rejuvenating Set as well (review coming up soon!) which is also only meant  to be used for 30 days. So I needed some maintenance skincare in between. I asked their Facebook page and they told me I can try GOAL Skin Renewal Kit which is said not to cause any peeling. 

What is it?

How to use?

Step 1. Use Goal cleansing bar soap to wash away impurities trapped in your pores leaving your skin clean, refreshed and glowing after every use. 

Step 2. Apply 3 drops on a cotton then gently pat to your face and neck. For the first week use exfoliating toner once a day every night only, for the succeeding weeks use exfoliating toner am/ pm . 

Step 3. Use goal daily sun protect in the morning 30 minutes before sun exposure. Apply to your face and neck in gentle circular motion. Re apply as needed. Night nourishing cream pampers your skin while you sleep. Use a pea sized amount and apply in a circular motion on your face and neck. . 

I can't find much information or further description about this set which is common for local brands.

The set comes in an upright white box with their signature pink and white colors. The products come in plastic packaging with sticker labels. 

Review:

STEP1: Beautylab Cleansing Bar says: Make cleansing the pillar of your skin goal routine. Wash away all the impurities trapped in your pores with our deep cleansing bar. 

Ingredients: Coconut oil, Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Lactate, Carica Papaya Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Vitamin B3, Kojic Acid,, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Fragrance, CI 15510

~ The soap doesn't smell like anything at all although it says it has fragrance but it's okay. It doesn't melt easily though I've cut it to small pieces to make it last longer on me. It lathers and cleanses well.  

STEP2: Beautylab Exfoliating Toner says: Our version of liquid gold. Exfoliation is a crucial step in this skin goal routine. Don't be afraid in peeling. Use our exfoliating toner to sweep away deqd skin cells to reveal your healthy glowing skin

Ingredients: 

I can't describe the scent of the toner but the main ingredient was alcohol. I don't recall experiencing sting but my skin after using it, it is like I have applied oil on my skin. Not exactly greasy but it felt like there is a thin film of moisture left on it (?) Unsure if I am making sense here.

STEP3 (AM): Beautylab Daily Sun Protect with SPF30 says: Never ever skip your daily sun protection. Protect your skin from harmful, damage-causing UV rays  that result sunspots, skin sagging, wrinkles and so on. 

Ingredients: 

There is no brightening or whitening effect and it only provides little moisture to my skin. The SPF 30 is quite high though and can be a good thing if you go out but I still do not recommend this while using any exfoliating products.

STEP3 (PM): Beautylab Night Nourishing Cream says: Our nourishing night cream has multi-benefit works on your skin while you sleep. Rejuvenate your skin layer for the healthy glowing GOAL. 

Ingredients: 

Unsure of the correct color of the cream but I got it in somewhat brownish shade. I am unsure if the cream already oxidized but it didn't smell good either. I really don't like it and I was surprised after smelling it at first. The consistency is kinda watery as well

It's good that I was able to use Beautylab's other Intense Rejuvenating Set which is a lot better than this one. So I wasn't really expecting much from this set when I first got it because it is only meant for maintenance. But I was wrong. This is like a whole new different set from the first one I've used. On my first week I was breaking out like crazy. My face was itchy too after the cream application. I endured using the set for more than 3 weeks, I didn't peel but have seen no improvement. I was left with acne and dark marks from what happened which saddens me. They shouldn't really have recommended this is as a maintenance set. Right now I can only use the soap but only as a body soap.

The cushion puff had some fall outs!

Packaging

I really like their posh black compact and box. They also used a rose gold color to add the logo of Pax Moly. It looks really expensive at first glance. The expiry is clearly printed at the bottom. It features a mirror and the actual cushion has a foil cover too that guarantees the product freshness. The puff included is really soft too.

Experience

Like what I am always looking for in a face foundation and BB cream I want it to be in yellow undertone! The coverage is thick but it doesn't make me oil up that much. It definitely did a good job of hiding my pores. I like setting if off with loose powder to add to the flawless looking effect.

As you read above, the cushion puff somehow crumbled when I opened it again. It was the fault of ants that infested the actual cushion. Like, why? I am not really sure but the puff was still usable.

Review: Vivid and Vogue Automatic Hair Curling Iron

Hair can always make or break a look. It doesn't matter how good the makeup is if the hair is not styled. To glam-up every look I really like a curly hairstyle. With that being said, I have been obsessed with hair curling irons. I really don't intend to add more but due to a repetitive ad I got myself a Vivid and Vogue Automatic Hair Curling Iron. 

What is it? 

Vivid and Vogue Automatic Hair Curling Iron from the name itself makes instant automatic curls. This brand is said to be from Taiwan. 

Packaging

It comes in a thick pink box. First thing lasts, it looks expensive as the box looks like an expensive product for me. The curling iron comes with an instruction manual (in chinese), 2 pink hair clips and a rat tail comb.

Experience

I seriously already have a functioning automatic hair curler already but I still bought Vivid and Vogue. This is because the other one I have is meant for short hair and I can't use it. I gave Vivid and Vogue hair curler a chance as the long iron seems like it will work wonders on my hair.

So I love the ease of using this curling iron and there is no need to do the manual twirling myself. There is some hair curling iron they call Kiss Instawave which they said to be similar to this one but it is expensive so it's great to gave an alternative. At first I had some difficulty in curling but after a few tries I got the hang of it. It was the easiest and fastest curling I have done ever! I was done in practically 20 minutes, whereas I will usually take 1 hour to finish as I have pretty thick hair.

How I use it?

1. Just gather an inch or so of your hair.

2. Insert the lower portion of your hair along the plastic stakes of the curler base.

3. Press one of the rotator, either clockwise or counter- clockwise and it will automatically gather and curl your hair towards the iron.

4. Hold for a couple of seconds (I leave mine for 20 seconds as my hair is chemically treated but you can use it longer based on your own best judgement.)

5. Slowly pull the curler downwards. 

6. Easiest curls, DONE!

I honestly love and recommend Vivid and Vogue Automatic Hair Curling Iron right now and I don't see myself using my other irons for a while. The ease of use is really something for me and I like how it heats fast too despite not having the temperature indicator. Hope it can last long on me!

What I've watched from Netflix so far

Rainy days is usually the time when I indulge with Netflix. I have been given this account on a whim as I keep on asking boyfie to download random series before. Anyhow what have I been watching in Netflix lately you say?

My watch later list is getting longer and longer eh? However the naive me keeps on watching my favorite dramas on repeat!!

A Love so Beautiful

My ultimate favorite drama is this chinese drama. I think I have watched this like 5-6 times already and I still want to watch. I have related to the little girl's persevere love to her crush. I really love everything about this drama even the supporting cast are great and they have done a good job in adding color to the story.

I find this good read about the relationship of the 2 protagonist. I still love Jiang Chen nonetheless.

Love Alarm

This drama will have it's 2nd season soon and and the story is based on a webtoon. I have fallen in love with Song Kang. He is just drop dead good looking. The plot takes place in an advanced time wherein you can use a phone app to know if someone is in love with you within a 10m radius.

My ID is Gangnam Beauty

I watched the first episode of this then stopped before watching it again to finish the whole series. I wasn't fond of the protagonist but the story line is cool. I like how the guy has chased the girl on this drama unlike the usual wherein the girl gives more attention. Cha Eun Woo of Astro looks so gorgeous AF too. 

He is Psychometric

This is an idol laden kdrama. The start had me by surprise as there was some murder going on and a very hideous one. The story revolved around Jinyoung who tries to find the hidden

King's Avatar

Another intriguing chinese drama, and it includes Yangyang! I watched his earlier hit, Love 020 and this one didn't disappoint too. I like the whole story of how he recruited the best team mates and how he got back from playing after retiring out of his own will. And yes, Yangyang too looks so hot in this drama, as always.

Overall~ 

Okay! I know, I know. It is all in korean and chinese but hey! My list has Sponge bob Squarepants too and I also included american series like Once upon a time but I haven't gotten the chance to start watching it yet. The number of episodes puts me off. But Im'ma try this 2020! I got a lot of time for it too.
